Philippians 2
1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
Ngakho uba kukhona inkuthazo kuKristu, uba kukhona induduzo yothando, uba kukhona ubudlelwano bukaMoya, uba kukhona imihelo lesihawu,
2 Fulfill you my joy, that you be like minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
gcwalisani intokozo yami, ukuze libe ngqondonye, libe lothando olufananayo, libe lenhliziyonye, ukuqonda kunye;
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
lingenzi lutho ngokubangisana kumbe ngokuziqhenya, kodwa ngokuthobeka liphakamise omunye komunye ngcono kulani;
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
ngulowo lalowo angakhathaleli okwakhe, kodwa ngulowo lalowo lokwabanye.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Ngoba kawube kini lowomqondo owawukhona lakuKristu Jesu;
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
owathi esesimeni sikaNkulunkulu, kanakananga ukuthi kuyikuphanga ukulingana loNkulunkulu,
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took on him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
kodwa wazidela, ethatha isimo senceku, enziwe esimeni sabantu;
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross.
njalo eficwe elesimo njengomuntu, wazithoba, waba ngolalelayo kwaze kwaba sekufeni, yebo ukufa kwesiphambano.
9 Why God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Ngakho laye uNkulunkulu wamphakamisa kakhulu, wamnika ibizo eliphezu kwalo lonke ibizo;
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
ukuze kuthi ebizweni likaJesu lonke idolo liguqe, elabezulwini, lelabemhlabeni, lelabangaphansi komhlaba,
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
lenlimi zonke zivume ukuthi uJesu Kristu uyiNkosi, kube ludumo kuNkulunkulu uYise.
12 Why, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Ngakho, bathandiweyo bami, njengalokho lilalela ngezikhathi zonke, kungenjengebukhoneni bami kuphela, kodwa khathesi ikakhulukazi ngingekho, fezani usindiso lwenu ngokwesaba langokuthuthumela;
13 For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
ngoba kunguNkulunkulu osebenza kini kokubili ukuthanda lokwenza njengentando yakhe enhle.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
Yenzani zonke izinto kungelakusola lokuphikisana,
15 That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the middle of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world;
ukuze lingasoleki libe msulwa, abantwana bakaNkulunkulu abangelasici phakathi kwesizukulwana esigobileyo lesiphambeneyo, elikhanya phakathi kwaso njengokukhanya emhlabeni,
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain.
libonakalise ilizwi lempilo, ekuzincomeni kwami osukwini lukaKristu, ukuthi kangigijimelanga ize, njalo kangitshikatshikelanga ize.
17 Yes, and if I be offered on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
Yebo, uba lami ngithululwa njengomnikelo wokunathwayo phezu komhlatshelo lenkonzo yokholo lwenu, ngiyathokoza njalo ngithokoza kanye lani lonke;
18 For the same cause also do you joy, and rejoice with me.
ngenxa yalokho-ke thokozani lani njalo lithokoze kanye lami.
19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly to you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
Ngiyathemba-ke eNkosini uJesu ukuthuma uTimothi kini masinyane, ukuze lami ngithokoze lapho ngisazi izindaba zenu.
20 For I have no man like minded, who will naturally care for your state.
Ngoba kangilaye olengqondo enjengeyakhe, ozananzelela indaba zenu ngobuqotho,
21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.
ngoba bonke bazidingela okwabo, kungeyisikho okukaKristu Jesu.
22 But you know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he has served with me in the gospel.
Kodwa liyazi ukuqinisa kwakhe, ukuthi njengomntwana kuyise, usebenzile lami evangelini.
23 Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.
Ngiyathemba-ke ukuhle ngimthume yena, nxa sengibonisisile okuqondene lami;
24 But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.
kodwa ngiyathemba eNkosini, ukuthi lami ngizakuza kini masinyane.
25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labor, and fellow soldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.
Kodwa ngibone kufanele ukuthi ngithume kini uEpafrodithu, umzalwane lesisebenzi lolibutho kanye lami, kodwa isithunywa senu, lesisebenzi sokuswela kwami;
26 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that you had heard that he had been sick.
njengoba wayelilangatha lonke, njalo ekhathazekile kakhulu, ngoba lezwa ukuthi wayegula;
27 For indeed he was sick near to death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow on sorrow.
ngoba njalo wagula waphosa wafa, kodwa uNkulunkulu wamhawukela, njalo kungeyisuye yena yedwa, kodwa lami, ukuze ngingabi losizi phezu kosizi.
28 I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
Ngakho ngitshisekela kakhulu ukumthuma, ukuze kuthi, nxa limbona, lithokoze futhi, losizi lwami lunciphe.
29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:
Memukeleni-ke eNkosini ngentokozo yonke, libahloniphe abanjalo-ke;
30 Because for the work of Christ he was near to death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.
ngoba ngenxa yomsebenzi kaKristu waphose wafa, edela impilo, ukuze aphelelise okusileleyo komsebenzi wenu kimi.
