Numbers 31

1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

௧யெகோவா மோசேயை நோக்கி:

2 Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shall you be gathered to your people.

௨“இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்காக மீதியானியர்களிடத்தில் பழிவாங்கு; அதின் பின்பு உன்னுடைய மக்களிடத்தில் சேர்க்கப்படுவாய்” என்றார்.

3 And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves to the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.

௩அப்பொழுது மோசே மக்களை நோக்கி: “யெகோவாக்காக மீதியானியர்களிடம் பழிவாங்கத்தக்க, உங்களில் அவர்கள்மேல் யுத்தத்திற்குப் போகும்படியாக மனிதர்களைப் பிரித்தெடுங்கள்.

4 Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall you send to the war.

௪இஸ்ரவேலர்களுடைய எல்லாக் கோத்திரங்களிலும் ஒவ்வொரு கோத்திரத்தில் 1,000 பேரை யுத்தத்திற்கு அனுப்பவேண்டும்” என்றான்.

5 So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

௫அப்படியே இஸ்ரவேலர்களாகிய அநேகம் ஆயிரங்களில், ஒவ்வொரு கோத்திரத்தில் ஆயிரமாயிரம் பேராகப் 12,000 பேர் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஆயத்தமாக நிறுத்தப்பட்டார்கள்.

6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.

௬மோசே அவர்களையும் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரின் மகன் பினெகாசையும் யுத்தத்திற்கு அனுப்பும்போது, அவனுடைய கையிலே பரிசுத்த பொருட்களையும், தொனிக்கும் பூரிகைகளையும் கொடுத்து அனுப்பினான்.

7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.

௭யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி அவர்கள் மீதியானியர்களுடன் யுத்தம்செய்து, ஆண்கள் எல்லோரையும் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்.

8 And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

௮அவர்களைக் கொன்றுபோட்டதும் அல்லாமல், மீதியானியர்களின் ஐந்து ராஜாக்களாகிய ஏவி, ரேக்கேம், சூர், ஊர், ரேபா என்பவர்களையும் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள். பேயோரின் மகனாகிய பிலேயாமையும் பட்டயத்தினாலே கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்.

9 And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.

௯அன்றியும் இஸ்ரவேல் இராணுவம் மீதியானியர்களின் பெண்களையும் குழந்தைகளையும் சிறைபிடித்து, அவர்களுடைய மிருகஜீவன்களாகிய ஆடுமாடுகள் யாவையும், மற்ற சொத்துகள் அனைத்தையும் கொள்ளையிட்டு,

10 And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelled, and all their goodly castles, with fire.

௧0அவர்கள் குடியிருந்த ஊர்கள் கோட்டைகள் யாவையும் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்து,

11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.

௧௧தாங்கள் கொள்ளையிட்ட பொருள்களையும் தாங்கள் பிடித்த மனிதர்கள் மிருகங்கள் அனைத்தையும் சேர்த்து,

12 And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, to Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho.

௧௨சிறைப்பிடிக்கப்பட்ட மனிதர்களையும், மிருகங்களையும், கொள்ளையிட்ட பொருள்களையும், எரிகோவின் அருகிலுள்ள யோர்தானுக்கு இக்கரையில் மோவாபின் சமவெளிகளிலுள்ள முகாமிலிருந்த மோசேயினிடத்திற்கும், ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரினிடமும், இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களாகிய சபையாரிடமும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

13 And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.

௧௩மோசேயும் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும் சபையின் பிரபுக்கள் எல்லோரும் அவர்களைச் சந்திக்க முகாமிற்கு வெளியே புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்.

14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.

௧௪அப்பொழுது மோசே யுத்தத்திலிருந்து வந்த ஆயிரம்பேருக்குத் தலைவர்களும், நூறுபேருக்குத் தலைவர்களுமாகிய சேனாபதிகள்மேல் கோபங்கொண்டு,

15 And Moses said to them, Have you saved all the women alive?

௧௫அவர்களை நோக்கி: “பெண்கள் எல்லோரையும் உயிரோடு விட்டுவிட்டீர்களா?

16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

௧௬பேயோரின் சங்கதியிலே பிலேயாமின் ஆலோசனையினால் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் யெகோவாவுக்கு விரோதமாகத் துரோகம்செய்யக் காரணமாக இருந்தவர்கள் இவர்கள்தானே; அதினால் யெகோவாவின் சபையிலே வாதையும் நேரிட்டதே.

17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that has known man by lying with him.

௧௭ஆகையால் குழந்தைகளில் எல்லா ஆண்பிள்ளைகளையும், ஆண்தொடர்பு கொண்டுள்ள எல்லா பெண்களையும் கொன்றுபோடுங்கள்.

18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

௧௮பெண்களில் ஆண்தொடர்பு அறியாத எல்லாப் பெண்பிள்ளைகளையும் உங்களுக்காக உயிரோடு வையுங்கள்.

19 And do you abide without the camp seven days: whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.

௧௯பின்பு நீங்கள் ஏழுநாட்கள் முகாமிற்கு வெளியே தங்குங்கள்; மனித உயிரைக் கொன்றவர்களும். வெட்டுண்டவர்களைத் தொட்டவர்களுமாகிய நீங்கள் யாவரும் மூன்றாம் நாளிலும் ஏழாம் நாளிலும் உங்களையும் உங்களால் சிறைபிடிக்கப்பட்டவர்களையும் சுத்திகரித்து,

20 And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.

௨0அந்தப்படியே எல்லா ஆடைகளையும், தோலால் செய்த கருவிகளையும், வெள்ளாட்டுமுடியினால் நெய்தவைகளையும், மரச்சாமான்களையும் சுத்திகரிக்கவேண்டும்” என்றான்.

21 And Eleazar the priest said to the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;

௨௧ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும் யுத்தத்திற்குப் போய்வந்த படைவீரர்களை நோக்கி: “யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட விதிப்பிரமாணம் என்னவென்றால்:

22 Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

௨௨அக்கினிக்கு நிற்கத்தக்கவைகளாகிய பொன், வெள்ளி, வெண்கலம், இரும்பு, தகரம், ஈயம் ஆகிய இவைகளெல்லாம் சுத்தமாகும்படி,

23 Every thing that may abide the fire, you shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that stays not the fire you shall make go through the water.

௨௩அவைகளை அக்கினியிலே போட்டு எடுக்கவேண்டும்; தீட்டுக்கழிக்கும் தண்ணீராலும் அவைகள் சுத்திகரிக்கப்படவேண்டும்; அக்கினிக்கு நிற்கத் தகாதவைகள் எல்லாம் தண்ணீரினால் சுத்தம் செய்யவேண்டும்.

24 And you shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean, and afterward you shall come into the camp.

௨௪ஏழாம் நாளில் உங்களுடைய ஆடைகளைத் தோய்க்கவேண்டும்; அப்பொழுது சுத்தமாக இருப்பீர்கள்; பின்பு நீங்கள் முகாமிற்குள் வரலாம்” என்றான்.

25 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

௨௫யெகோவா மோசேயை நோக்கி:

26 Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, you, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:

௨௬“பிடித்துக்கொண்டு வரப்பட்ட மனிதர்களையும் மிருகங்களையும் நீயும் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும் சபையினுடைய முன்னோர்களாகிய தலைவர்களும் கணக்கிட்டு,

27 And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war on them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:

௨௭கொள்ளையிடப்பட்டதை இரண்டு பங்காகப் பங்கிட்டு, யுத்தத்திற்குப் படையெடுத்துப்போனவர்களுக்கும் சபையனைத்திற்கும் கொடுங்கள்.

28 And levy a tribute to the Lord of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep:

௨௮மேலும் யுத்தத்திற்குப் போன படைவீரர்களிடத்தில் யெகோவாக்காக மனிதர்களிலும், மாடுகளிலும், கழுதைகளிலும், ஆடுகளிலும் ஐந்நூற்றிற்கு ஒரு மிருகம் வீதமாக வரி வாங்கி,

29 Take it of their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD.

௨௯அவர்களுடைய பாதிப்பங்கில் எடுத்து, யெகோவாவுக்கு ஏறெடுத்துப்படைக்கும் படைப்பாக ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கு கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

30 And of the children of Israel’s half, you shall take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them to the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.

௩0இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களின் பாதிப்பங்கிலோ மனிதர்களிலும், மாடுகள், கழுதைகள், ஆடுகளாகிய எல்லா வித மிருகங்களிலும், ஐம்பதிற்கு ஒன்று வீதமாக வாங்கி, அவைகளைக் யெகோவாவுடைய வாசஸ்தலத்தின் காவலைக்காக்கும் லேவியர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்” என்றார்.

31 And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.

௩௧யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி, மோசேயும் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும் செய்தார்கள்.

32 And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,

௩௨படைவீரர்கள் கொள்ளையிட்ட பொருளில், 6,75,000 ஆடுகளும்,

33 And three score and twelve thousand beeves,

௩௩72,000 மாடுகளும்,

34 And three score and one thousand asses,

௩௪61,000 கழுதைகளும் மீதியாக இருந்தது.

35 And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him.

௩௫ஆணுடன் உடலுறவுக்கொள்ளாத பெண்களில் 32,000 பேர் இருந்தார்கள்.

36 And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep:

௩௬யுத்தம்செய்யப் போனவர்களுக்குக் கிடைத்த பாதிப்பங்கின் தொகையாவது: ஆடுகள் 3,37,500.

37 And the LORD’s tribute of the sheep was six hundred and three score and fifteen.

௩௭இந்த ஆடுகளிலே யெகோவாவுக்கு வரியாக வந்தது 675.

38 And the beeves were thirty and six thousand; of which the LORD’s tribute was three score and twelve.

௩௮மாடுகள் 36,000; அவைகளில் யெகோவாவுக்கு வரியாக வந்தது 72.

39 And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred; of which the LORD’s tribute was three score and one.

௩௯கழுதைகள் 30,500; அவைகளில் யெகோவாவின் பகுதியாக வந்தது 61.

40 And the persons were sixteen thousand; of which the LORD’s tribute was thirty and two persons.

௪0மனிதஉயிர்கள் 16,000 பேர்; அவர்களில் யெகோவாவுக்கு வரியாக வந்தவர்கள் 32 பேர்.

41 And Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD’s heave offering, to Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.

௪௧யெகோவாவுக்கு ஏறெடுத்துப் படைக்கும் அந்தப் பகுதியை, மோசே யெகோவா தனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி. ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரிடம் கொடுத்தான்.

42 And of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided from the men that warred,

௪௨யுத்தம்செய்த பேர்களுக்கும் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கும் மோசே பாதி பாதியாகப் பங்கிட்டதின்படி சபையாருக்கு வந்த பாதிப்பங்காவது:

43 (Now the half that pertained to the congregation was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep,

௪௩ஆடுகளில் 3,37,500

44 And thirty and six thousand beeves,

௪௪மாடுகளில் 36,000,

45 And thirty thousand asses and five hundred,

௪௫கழுதைகளில் 30,500,

46 And sixteen thousand persons; )

௪௬மனிதஉயிர்களில் 16,000 பேருமே.

47 Even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them to the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.

௪௭இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களின் பாதிப்பங்குக்கு வந்த இந்த மனிதஉயிர்களிலும் மிருகங்களிலும் மோசே ஐம்பதிற்கு ஒன்று வீதமாக, எடுத்து அவைகளைக் யெகோவா தனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி, யெகோவாவுடைய வாசஸ்தலத்தின் காவலைக் காக்கிற லேவியர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்.

48 And the officers which were over thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses:

௪௮பின்பு ஆயிரம்பேருக்குத் தலைவர்களும் நூறுபேருக்குத் தலைவர்களுமான அதிகாரிகள் மோசேயிடம் வந்து,

49 And they said to Moses, Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacks not one man of us.

௪௯“உமது ஊழியக்காரராகிய நாங்கள் எங்களுடைய கையின் கீழிருக்கிற யுத்தமனிதர்களை கணக்கு பார்த்தோம்; அவர்களுக்குள்ளே ஒரு ஆளும் குறையவில்லை.

50 We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man has gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.

௫0ஆகையால், யெகோவாவுடைய சந்நிதியில் எங்களுடைய ஆத்துமாக்களுக்காகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்வதற்காக, எங்களுக்குக் கிடைத்த பொற்பணிகளாகிய காலணிகளையும், கை அணிகளையும், மோதிரங்களையும், காதணிகளையும், காப்புகளையும் யெகோவாவுக்குக் காணிக்கையாகக் கொண்டுவந்தோம்” என்றார்கள்.

51 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, even all worked jewels.

௫௧அப்பொழுது மோசேயும் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும் எல்லாவித வேலைப்பாடுள்ள பொருட்களான அந்தப் பொன் ஆபரணங்களை அவர்களிடத்தில் வாங்கினார்கள்.

52 And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.

௫௨இப்படி ஆயிரம்பேருக்குத் தலைவர்களானவர்களாலும் நூறுபேருக்குத் தலைவர்களானவர்களாலும் யெகோவாவுக்கு ஏறெடுத்துப் படைக்கும் காணிக்கையாகச் செலுத்தப்பட்ட பொன் முழுவதும் பதினாறு ஆயிரத்து எழுநூற்று ஐம்பது சேக்கல் நிறையாக இருந்தது.

53 (For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.)

௫௩யுத்தத்திற்குப் போன மனிதர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தங்கள் தங்களுக்காக கொள்ளையிட்டிருந்தார்கள்.

54 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.

௫௪அந்தப் பொன்னை மோசேயும் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும் ஆயிரம் பேருக்குத் தலைவர்களானவர்களின் கையிலும், நூறு பேருக்குத் தலைவர்களானவர்களின் கையிலும் வாங்கி, இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு ஞாபகக்குறியாக ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்திலே யெகோவாவுடைய சந்நிதியில் கொண்டுவந்து வைத்தார்கள்.
