Work, not for the food that perishes, but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you; for on him the Father – God himself – has set the seal of his approval.” (aiōnios g166)
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (aiōnios g166)
For it is the will of my Father that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have immortal life; and I myself will raise him up at the Last day.” (aiōnios g166)
Truly, truly, I say to you, He that believes on me has everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
In truth I tell you, the person who believes in me has eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. (aiōn g165)
I am the living bread that has come down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, they will live for ever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” (aiōn g165)
Whoever eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. (aiōnios g166)
Everyone who takes my flesh for their food, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise them up at the Last day. (aiōnios g166)
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eats of this bread shall live for ever. (aiōn g165)
That is the bread which has come down from heaven – not such as your ancestors ate, and yet died; the person who takes this bread for their food will live for ever.” (aiōn g165)
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the words of eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
But Simon Peter answered, “Master, to whom would we go? Eternal life is in your teaching; (aiōnios g166)
And the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the Son stays ever. (aiōn g165)
And a slave does not remain in the home always; but a son remains always. (aiōn g165)
Truly, truly, I say to you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. (aiōn g165)
In truth I tell you, if anyone lays my message to heart, he will never really die.” (aiōn g165)
Then said the Jews to him, Now we know that you have a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and you say, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. (aiōn g165)
“Now we are sure that you are possessed by a demon,” the people replied. “Abraham died, and so did the prophets; and yet you say ‘If anyone lays my message to heart, they will never know death.’ (aiōn g165)
Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. (aiōn g165)
Since the world began, such a thing was never heard of as anyone’s giving sight to a person born blind. (aiōn g165)
And I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
and I give them eternal life, and they will not be lost; nor will anyone snatch them out of my hands. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Believe you this? (aiōn g165)
and he who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (aiōn g165)
He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it to life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
A person who loves their life loses it; while someone who hates their life in the present world will preserve it for eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ stays for ever: and how say you, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? (aiōn g165)
“We,” replied the people, “have learned from the Law that the Christ is to remain for ever; how is it, then, that you say that the Son of Man must be ‘lifted up’ Who is this ‘Son of Man’?” (aiōn g165)
And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatever I speak therefore, even as the Father said to me, so I speak. (aiōnios g166)
And I know that eternal life lies in keeping his command. Therefore, whatever I say, I say only what the Father has taught me.” (aiōnios g166)
Peter says to him, You shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash you not, you have no part with me. (aiōn g165)
“You will never wash my feet!” exclaimed Peter. “Unless I wash you,” answered Jesus, “you have nothing in common with me.” (aiōn g165)
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (aiōn g165)
and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper, to be with you always – the Spirit of truth. (aiōn g165)
As you have given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as you have given him. (aiōnios g166)
even as you gave him power over all humanity, so that he should give eternal life to everyone you have given him. (aiōnios g166)
And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (aiōnios g166)
And the eternal life is this – to know you the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent as your messenger. (aiōnios g166)
Because you will not leave my soul in hell, neither will you suffer your Holy One to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, nor surrender me, your holy one, to undergo corruption. (Hadēs g86)
He seeing this before spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
and referred to the resurrection of the Christ when he said that he had not been abandoned to Hades, nor had his body undergone corruption. (Hadēs g86)
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. (aiōn g165)
But heaven must be his home, until the days of the Universal Restoration, of which God has spoken by the lips of his holy prophets from the very first. (aiōn g165)
Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing you put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, see, we turn to the Gentiles. (aiōnios g166)
Then Paul and Barnabas spoke out fearlessly, and said: “It was necessary that the message of God should be told to you first; but, since you reject it and reckon yourselves not worthy of the eternal life – we turn to the Gentiles! (aiōnios g166)
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. (aiōnios g166)
On hearing this, the Gentiles were glad and extolled God’s message; and all those who had been enrolled for eternal life became believers in Christ; (aiōnios g166)
Known to God are all his works from the beginning of the world. (aiōn g165)
says the Lord, as he does these things, known from long ago.’ (aiōn g165)
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (aïdios g126)
For ever since the creation of the universe God’s invisible attributes – his everlasting power and divinity – are to be seen and studied in his works, so that people have no excuse; (aïdios g126)
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
for they had substituted a lie for the truth about God, and had reverenced and worshiped created things more than the Creator, who is to be praised for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life: (aiōnios g166)
To those who, by perseverance in doing good, aim at glory, honor, and all that is imperishable, he will give immortal life; (aiōnios g166)
That as sin has reigned to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
in order that, just as sin had reigned in the realm of death, so, too, might loving-kindness reign through righteousness, and result in eternal life, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
But now that you have been set free from the control of sin, and have become servants to God, the fruit that you reap is an ever increasing holiness, and the end eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
The wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through union with Christ Jesus, our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
They are descended from the patriarchs, and, as far as his human nature was concerned, from them came the Christ – he who is supreme over all things, God for ever blessed. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) (Abyssos g12)
‘or “Who will go down into the depths below?”’ (which means to bring Christ up from the dead). (Abyssos g12)
For God has concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy on all. (eleēsē g1653)
For God has given all alike over to disobedience, that to all alike he may show mercy. (eleēsē g1653)
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
For all things are from him, through him, and for him. And to him be all glory for ever and ever! Amen. (aiōn g165)
And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (aiōn g165)
Do not conform to the fashion of this world; but be transformed by the complete change that has come over your minds, so that you may discern what God’s will is – all that is good, acceptable, and perfect. (aiōn g165)
Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, (aiōnios g166)
Now to him who is able to strengthen you, as promised in the good news entrusted to me and in the proclamation of Jesus Christ, in accordance with the revelation of that hidden purpose, which in past ages was kept secret but now has been revealed (aiōnios g166)
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: (aiōnios g166)
and, in obedience to the command of the immortal God, made known through the writings of the prophets to all nations, to secure submission to the faith – (aiōnios g166)
To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
to him, I say, the wise and only God, be ascribed, through Jesus Christ, all glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)
Where is the philosopher? Where the teacher of the Law? Where the disputant of today? Has not God shown the world’s philosophy to be folly? (aiōn g165)
However, we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nothing: (aiōn g165)
Yet there is a philosophy that we teach to those whose faith is matured, but it is not the philosophy of today, or of the leaders of today – whose downfall is at hand. (aiōn g165)
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world to our glory: (aiōn g165)
No, it is a divine philosophy that we teach, one concerned with the hidden purpose of God – that long hidden philosophy which God, before time began, destined for our glory. (aiōn g165)
Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (aiōn g165)
This philosophy is clearly not known to any of the leaders of today, since, had they known it, they would never have crucified our glorious Lord! (aiōn g165)
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. (aiōn g165)
Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you imagines that, as regards this world, they are wise, they should become a ‘fool,’ that they may become wise. (aiōn g165)
Why, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world stands, lest I make my brother to offend. (aiōn g165)
Therefore, if what I eat makes a follower of the Lord fall, rather than make them fall, I will never eat meat again. (aiōn g165)
Now all these things happened to them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the world are come. (aiōn g165)
These things happened to them by way of warning, and were recorded to serve as a caution to us, in whose days the close of the ages has come. (aiōn g165)
O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? (Hadēs g86)
‘death has been swallowed up in victory! Where, Death, is your victory? Where, death, is your sting?’ (Hadēs g86)
In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine to them. (aiōn g165)
people whose minds have been blinded by the God of this age, unbelievers as they are, so that the light from the good news of the glory of the Christ, who is the incarnation of God, should not shine for them. (aiōn g165)
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; (aiōnios g166)
The light burden of our momentary trouble is preparing for us a weight of imperishable glory, beyond all measure. (aiōnios g166)
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (aiōnios g166)
We, all the while, gaze not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is transient, but what is unseen is imperishable. (aiōnios g166)
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (aiōnios g166)
For we know that if our tent – that earthly body which is now our home – is taken down, we have a house of God’s building, a home not made by hands, imperishable, in heaven. (aiōnios g166)
(As it is written, He has dispersed abroad; he has given to the poor: his righteousness remains for ever. (aiōn g165)
(As scripture says – ‘He shared freely, he gave to the poor; his righteousness continues for ever.’ (aiōn g165)
The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for ever more, knows that I lie not. (aiōn g165)
The God and Father of the Lord Jesus – he who is for ever blessed – knows that I am speaking the truth. (aiōn g165)
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: (aiōn g165)
For Christ, to rescue us from this present wicked age, gave himself for our sins, in accordance with the will of our God and Father, (aiōn g165)
To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
to whom be ascribed all glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (aiōnios g166)
For the person who sows the field of their earthly nature will from that earthly nature reap corruption; while the one who sows the field of the spirit will from that spirit reap eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: (aiōn g165)
and above every name that can be named, whether in the present age, or in the age to come. (aiōn g165)
Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience: (aiōn g165)
For at one time you lived in sin, following the ways of the world, in subjection to the Ruler of the powers of the air – the Spirit who is still at work among the disobedient. (aiōn g165)
That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. (aiōn g165)
in order that, by his goodness to us in Christ Jesus, he might display in the ages to come the boundless wealth of his loving kindness. (aiōn g165)
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (aiōn g165)
and to make clear what is God’s way of working out that hidden purpose which from the first has been concealed in the mind of the Creator of all things; (aiōn g165)
According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: (aiōn g165)
in accordance with that purpose which runs through all the ages and which he has now accomplished in Jesus, the Christ, our Master. (aiōn g165)
To him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (aiōn g165)
to him be all glory through the church and through Christ Jesus, for all generations, age after age. Amen. (aiōn g165)
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (aiōn g165)
For ours is no struggle against enemies of flesh and blood, but against all the various powers of evil that hold sway in the darkness around us, against the spirits of wickedness on high. (aiōn g165)
Now to God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
To him, our God and Father, be ascribed all glory for every and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: (aiōn g165)
that truth which has been hidden from former ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to God’s people, (aiōn g165)
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (aiōnios g166)
They will pay the penalty of unutterable ruin – banished from the presence of the Lord and from the glorious manifestation of his might, (aiōnios g166)
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, (aiōnios g166)
And may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and, in his loving kindness, gave us unfailing consolation and good ground for hope, (aiōnios g166)
However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. (aiōnios g166)
Yet mercy was shown me for the express purpose that Christ Jesus might exhibit in my case, beyond all others, his exhaustless patience, as an example for those who were afterward to believe on him and attain eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
To the eternal King, ever-living, invisible, the one God, be ascribed honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you are also called, and have professed a good profession before many witnesses. (aiōnios g166)
Run the great race of the faith, and win the eternal life. It was for this that you received the call, and, in the presence of many witnesses, made the great profession of faith. (aiōnios g166)
Who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach to; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen. (aiōnios g166)
who alone is possessed of immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or ever can see – to whom be ascribed honor and power for ever. Amen. (aiōnios g166)
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy; (aiōn g165)
Teach those who are wealthy in this life not to pride themselves, or fix their hopes, on so uncertain a thing as wealth, but on God, who gives us a wealth of enjoyment on every side. (aiōn g165)
Who has saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (aiōnios g166)
It was God who saved us, and from him we received our solemn call – not as a reward for anything that we had done, but in fulfillment of his own loving purpose. For that love was extended to us, through Christ Jesus, before time began, (aiōnios g166)
Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. (aiōnios g166)
and that is why I submit to anything for the sake of God’s people: so that they also may obtain the salvation which comes from union with Christ Jesus, and imperishable glory. (aiōnios g166)
For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. (aiōn g165)
for Demas, in his love for the world, has deserted me. He has gone to Thessalonica, Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. (aiōn g165)
And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me to his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
The Lord will rescue me from all evil, and bring me safe into his Heavenly kingdom. All glory to him for ever and ever! Amen. (aiōn g165)
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (aiōnios g166)
– and is based on the hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began, (aiōnios g166)
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; (aiōn g165)
leading us to renounce ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives here in this present age, (aiōn g165)
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
so that, having been put right with God through his grace, we become heirs to the hope of eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that you should receive him for ever; (aiōnios g166)
It may be that he was separated from you for an hour, for this reason, so that you might have him back for ever, (aiōnios g166)
Has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (aiōn g165)
has in these latter days spoken to us by the Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. (aiōn g165)
But to the Son he says, Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom. (aiōn g165)
while of the Son he said – ‘God is your throne for ever and ever; the scepter of his kingdom is the scepter of Justice; (aiōn g165)
As he says also in another place, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (aiōn g165)
and on another occasion also – ‘You are a priest for all time of the order of Melchizedek.’ (aiōn g165)
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation to all them that obey him; (aiōnios g166)
and, being made perfect, he became to all those who obey him the source of eternal salvation, (aiōnios g166)
Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (aiōnios g166)
teaching concerning baptisms and the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead and a final judgment. (aiōnios g166)
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, (aiōn g165)
and learned to appreciate the beauty of the divine message, and the new powers of the coming age – (aiōn g165)
Where the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (aiōn g165)
where Jesus, our forerunner, has entered on our behalf, after being made for all time a high priest of the order of Melchizedek. (aiōn g165)
For he testifies, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (aiōn g165)
for that is the meaning of the declaration – ‘You are for all time a priest of the order of Melchizedek.’ (aiōn g165)
(For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said to him, The Lord swore and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec: ) (aiōn g165)
but his appointment was ratified by an oath, when God said to him – ‘The Lord has sworn, and will not change, “You are a priest for all time.”’ (aiōn g165)
But this man, because he continues ever, has an unchangeable priesthood. (aiōn g165)
but Jesus remains for all time, and therefore the priesthood that he holds will never pass to another. (aiōn g165)
For the law makes men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, makes the Son, who is consecrated for ever more. (aiōn g165)
The Law appoints as high priests men who are weak, but the words of God’s oath, which was later than the Law, name the Son as, for all time, the perfect priest. (aiōn g165)
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (aiōnios g166)
Nor was it with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood, that he entered, once and for all, into the sanctuary, and obtained our eternal deliverance. (aiōnios g166)
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (aiōnios g166)
how much more will the blood of the Christ, who, through his eternal Spirit, offered himself up to God, as a victim without blemish, purify our consciences from a lifeless formality, and fit us for the service of the living God! (aiōnios g166)
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (aiōnios g166)
And that is why he is the intermediary of a new covenant; in order that, as a death has taken place to effect a deliverance from the offenses committed under the first covenant, those who have received the call may obtain the eternal inheritance promised to them. (aiōnios g166)
For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world has he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. (aiōn g165)
for then Christ would have had to undergo death many times since the creation of the world. But now, once and for all, at the close of the age, he has appeared, in order to abolish sin by the sacrifice of himself. (aiōn g165)
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (aiōn g165)
Faith enables us to perceive that the universe was created at the bidding of God – so that we know that what we see was not made out of visible things. (aiōn g165)
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. (aiōn g165)
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today – yes, and for ever! (aiōn g165)
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, (aiōnios g166)
May God, the source of all peace, who brought back from the dead him who, ‘by virtue of the blood that rendered valid the unchangeable covenant, is the great shepherd of God’s Sheep,’ Jesus, our Lord – (aiōnios g166)
