Joshua 15

1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looks southward:

3 And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side to Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

kibba Malkaa Aqrabiim qaxxaamuree gara Siin itti fufee hamma kibba Qaadesh Barneetti deema. Ergasiis Hezroon darbee Adaaritti ol baʼee gara Qarqaatti gora.

4 From there it passed toward Azmon, and went out to the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

Ergasii immoo achii kaʼee karaa Azimooniin darbee hamma lafa goggogaa Gibxiitti dhufee galaana gaʼee dhaabata. Daariin isaanii kan gara kibbaa kanaa dha.

5 And the east border was the salt sea, even to the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

Daariin gara baʼaas Galaana Soogiddaa ture; innis hamma dhuma laga Yordaanositti deema. Daariin gara kaabaa immoo galoo galaanaa kan qarqara Yordaanosii jalqabee

6 And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

gara Beet Hoglaatti ol baʼee ergasii immoo karaa kaaba Beet Arabbaatiin gara Dhagaa Boohan ilma Ruubeenitti deema.

7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel:

Daariin sunis ergasii Sulula Aakoor keessaa Debiiritti ol baʼee gara Gilgaal gama kibba laga sanaatiin fuullee Malkaa Adumiim sanaa kaabatti gora. Daariin kun ittuma fufee gara bishaanota Een Shemesh darbee Een Roogeelitti gad baʼa.

8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

Ergasiis karaa kibba tabba magaalaa Yebuusotaatiin jechuunis Yerusaalemitiin baʼee Sulula Ben Hinoom irraan darba. Achiis baʼee qarqara kaaba Sulula Refaayimitti fiixee tulluu gama lixa Sulula Hinoom jirutti ol baʼe.

9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill to the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:

Daariin sun ammas fiixee gaaraa irraa kaʼee gara burqaa bishaanota Neftooʼaatti qajeelee magaalaawwan Tulluu Efrooniin baʼee gara Baʼaalaatti jechuunis Kiriyaati Yeʼaariimitti gad buʼe.

10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward to mount Seir, and passed along to the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

Ergasii Baʼaalaa irraa Tulluu Seeʼiiriitti gara lixaatti garagalee tabba kaaba Tulluu Yiʼaariim jechuunis Kesaaloon irra baʼee itti fufuudhaan Beet Shemeshitti gad buʼee Tiimnaahitti darba.

11 And the border went out to the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out to Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

Gara kaaba tabba Eqroonitti darbee Shikeroonitti goree Tulluu Baʼaalaa irra qaxxaamuruudhaan hamma Yabniʼeelitti deema. Daariin sunis galaana gaʼee dhaabate.

12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

13 And to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

14 And Caleb drove there the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

15 And he went up there to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.

16 And Caleb said, He that smites Kirjathsepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

Obboleessi Kaaleb, Otniiʼeel ilmi Qenaz magaalattii qabate; Kaalebis intala isaa Aaksaa isatti heerumsiise.

18 And it came to pass, as she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said to her, What would you?

Isheenis yeroo gara Otniiʼeel dhuftetti akka inni abbaa ishee lafa qotiisaa kadhatu isa kakaafte. Kaalebis yommuu isheen harree ishee irraa buutetti, “Ani maal siif godhu?” jedhee ishee gaafate.

19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for you have given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

Isheenis deebiftee, “Waan addaa tokko naa godhi. Akkuma Negeeb keessatti lafa naa kennite sana burqaawwan bishaaniis naa kenni” jetteen. Kaalebis burqaawwan oliitii fi gadii kenneef.

20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

Qaadesh, Haazoor, Yitinaan,

24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

Ziif, Telem, Baʼaalooti,

25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,

Haazoor Hadaataa, Keriiyooti kan Hezroon jedhamtu sana,

26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

Amaam, Shemaa, Molaadaa,

27 And Hazargaddah, and Heshmon, and Bethpalet,

Hazar Gadaa, Heshmoon, Beet Phelexi,

28 And Hazarshual, and Beersheba, and Bizjothjah,

Hazar Shuuʼaal, Bersheebaa, Biziyootiyaa,

29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

Baʼaalaa, Iyyiim, Ezem,

30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

Eltolaad, Kisiil, Hormaa,

31 And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

Siiqlaag, Madmaanaa, Saansaanaa,

32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:

Lebaaʼoot, Shiiliihiim, Aayinii fi Rimoonii dha; magaalaawwanii fi gandoonni isaanii walumaa galatti digdamii sagal turan.

33 And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

Karaa sulula lixa biiftuutiin immoo: Eshitaaʼol, Zoraa, Ashinaa,

34 And Zanoah, and Engannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

Zaanoʼaa, Een Ganiim, Tafuuʼaa, Eenaami,

35 Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

Yarmuuti, Adulaam, Sookoo, Azeeqaa,

36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:

Shaʼarayiim, Aaditaayim, Gedeeraa fi Gedeerootaayimii dha; magaalaawwanii fi gandoonni isaanii kudha afur turan.

37 Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdalgad,

Zenaan, Hadaashaa, Migdaal Gaad,

38 And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

Diliʼaan, Miisphaa, Yoqtiʼeel,

39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

Laakkiish, Boozqaati, Egloon,

40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

Kaboon, Lahimaas, Kiitiliish,

41 And Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:

Gedeerooti, Beet Daagon, Naʼamaa fi Maqeedaa dha; magaalaawwanii fi gandoonni isaanii kudha jaʼa turan.

42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

Libnaa, Eteeri, Ashaan,

43 And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

Yiftaa, Ashinaa, Neziibi,

44 And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:

Qeyiilaa, Akziibii fi Maareeshaa dha; magaalaawwanii fi gandoonni isaanii sagal turan.

45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

Eqroon, qubatawwanii fi gandoota naannoo ishee jiran wajjin,

46 From Ekron even to the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

akkasumas karaa lixa Eqrooniitiin qubatawwanii fi gandoota isaanii kanneen naannoo Ashdood jiran hunda,

47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, to the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

Ashdood, magaalaa isheetii fi gandoota ishee, Gaazaa, magaalaa isheetii fi gandoota ishee kanneen hamma Laga Gibxii fi hamma qarqara Galaana Guddichaatti jiranii dha.

48 And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

Biyya gaaraa keessatti immoo: Shaamiir, Yatiir, Sookoo,

49 And Dannah, and Kirjathsannah, which is Debir,

Danaa, Kiriyaati Sanaa jechuunis Debiir,

50 And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

Aanaab, Eshitmoʼaa, Aaniim,

51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:

Gooshen, hooloonii fi Giiloo dha; magaalaawwanii fi gandoonni isaanii kudha tokko turan.

52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,

Araab, Duumaa, Eshiʼaan,

53 And Janum, and Bethtappuah, and Aphekah,

Yaanuum, Beet Tafuuʼaa, Afeeqaa,

54 And Humtah, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:

Humtaa, Kebroon ishee Kiriyaati Arbaaq jedhamtuu fi Ziiʼoorii dha; magaalaawwanii fi gandoonni isaanii sagal turan.

55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

Maaʼoon, Qarmeloos, Ziif, Yutaa,

56 And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

Yizriʼeel, Yooqidiʼaam, Zaanoʼaa,

57 Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:

Qaayin, Gibeʼaa fi Tiimnaahii dha; magaalaawwanii fi gandoonni isaanii kudhan turan.

58 Halhul, Bethzur, and Gedor,

Halhuul, Beet Zuuri, Gedoor,

59 And Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:

Maʼaaraati, Beet Anootii fi Elteqoonii dha; magaalaawwanii fi gandoonni isaanii jaʼa turan.

60 Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:

Kiriyaati Baʼaal kan Kiriyaati Yeʼaariim jedhamtuu fi Raabbaa dha; magaalaawwanii fi gandoonni ishee lama turan.

61 In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah,

Gammoojjii keessatti immoo: Beet Arabbaa, Midiin, Sekaakaa,

62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages.

Niibishaan, Magaalaa Soogiddaatii fi Een Gaadii dha; magaalaawwanii fi gandoonni isaanii jaʼa turan.

63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.

Sabni Yihuudaa garuu Yebuusota Yerusaalem keessa jiraachaa turan sana ariʼanii baasuu hin dandeenye; Yebuusonnis hamma harʼaatti saba Yihuudaa wajjin Yerusaalem keessa jiraatu.
