Jeremiah 26
1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word from the LORD, saying,
১যোশিয়ের ছেলে যিহূদার রাজা যিহোয়াকীমের রাজত্বের প্রথম দিকে সদাপ্রভুর কাছ থেকে এই বাক্য এল এবং বলল,
2 Thus says the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD’s house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD’s house, all the words that I command you to speak to them; diminish not a word:
২“সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, আমার গৃহের উঠানে গিয়ে দাঁড়াও এবং যিহূদার শহরগুলি সম্মন্ধে বল যারা আমার গৃহে ভজনা করতে আসে। তাদেরকে যে কথা বলতে আমি তোমাকে আদেশ দিয়েছি, সেগুলি তাদের কাছে প্রচার কর। একটি কথাও বাদ দিয়ো না।
3 If so be they will listen, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do to them because of the evil of their doings.
৩হয়তো তারা শুনবে এবং প্রত্যেকে তার মন্দ পথ থেকে ফিরে আসবে। তাহলে তাদের অন্যায় কাজের জন্য আমি তাদের উপর যে বিপদ আনবার পরিকল্পনা করছি, আমি তা ক্ষমা করব।
4 And you shall say to them, Thus says the LORD; If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
৪তাই তুমি অবশ্যই তাদের এই কথা বল, ‘সদাপ্রভু বলেন, যদি তোমরা আমার কথা না শোন, তোমাদের সামনে আমি যে ব্যবস্থা দিয়েছি তা পালন না কর;
5 To listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent to you, both rising up early, and sending them, but you have not listened;
৫যদি তুমি আমার ভাববাদী দাসেদের কথা না শোনো, যাদের আমি স্থায়ীভাবে তোমাদের কাছে পাঠিয়েছি, তবুও তাদের কথা শোননি;
6 Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.
৬তখন আমি এই ঘরটিকে শীলোর মত করব, আমি পৃথিবীর সমস্ত জাতির কাছে এই শহর অভিশপ্ত করবো’।”
7 So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.
৭সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে যিরমিয়ের প্রচারে বিশেষ করে যাজকরা, ভাববাদীরা এবং সমস্ত লোক শুনলেন।
8 Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, You shall surely die.
৮তাই এটা ঘটল, যখন যিরমিয় সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ মত সমস্ত কথা সব লোকেদের, যাজকদের, ভাববাদীদের বলা শেষ করলেন, তখন সব লোক তাঁকে আটকে ধরে বলল, “তোমাকে অবশ্যই মরতে হবে!
9 Why have you prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.
৯কেন তুমি সদাপ্রভুর নামে ভাববাণী করেছ যে, এই ঘর শীলোর মত হবে এবং এই শহরটি ধ্বংস ও জনশূন্য হবে?” এই জন্য সব লোক সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে যিরমিয়ের বিরুদ্ধে জড়ো হল।
10 When the princes of Judah heard these things, then they came up from the king’s house to the house of the LORD, and sat down in the entry of the new gate of the LORD’s house.
১০তখন যিহূদার রাজকর্মচারীরা এই সব কথা শুনল এবং রাজবাড়ী থেকে সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে আসলেন এবং সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের নতুন ফটকে প্রবেশ পথে বসলেন।
11 Then spoke the priests and the prophets to the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.
১১যাজকেরা এবং ভাববাদীরা সেই রাজকর্মচারীদের ও সমস্ত লোকেরা বললেন, “এই লোকটি মৃত্যুদন্ড পাওয়ার যোগ্য, কারণ সে এই শহরের বিরুদ্ধে ভাববাণী করেছে; যেমন তোমরা নিজের কানে তা শুনেছ।”
12 Then spoke Jeremiah to all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.
১২তাই যিরমিয় সব রাজকর্মচারী ও সব লোকদের বললেন, “তোমরা যা শুনলে সেগুলি সদাপ্রভু আমাকে এই গৃহ ও শহরের বিরুদ্ধে ভাববাণী করতে পাঠিয়েছেন।
13 Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he has pronounced against you.
১৩তাই এখন, তোমাদের পথ ও তোমাদের কাজ উন্নত কর এবং তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর কথা শোনো; তাহলে সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে যে বিপদের কথা ঘোষণা করেছিলেন, তা তিনি ক্ষমা করবেন।
14 As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seems good and meet to you.
১৪আমি নিজে-আমার দিকে দেখ! তোমাদের হাতেই আছি; তোমরা যা ভাল ও ন্যায্য মনে কর তাই আমার প্রতি কর।
15 But know you for certain, that if you put me to death, you shall surely bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.
১৫কিন্তু তোমরা এটা নিশ্চয়ই জানো যে, তোমরা যদি আমাকে হত্যা কর, তবে তোমরা তোমাদের নিজেদের উপরে, এই শহর ও এখানকার অধিবাসীদের উপরে নির্দোষের রক্ত আনছো; কারণ এই সব কথা তোমাদের কানের কাছে প্রচার করার জন্য সত্যিই সদাপ্রভু আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন।”
16 Then said the princes and all the people to the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.
১৬তখন রাজকর্মচারীরা ও সমস্ত লোকেরা যাজক ও ভাববাদীদের বলল, “এই লোকটি মৃত্যুদন্ডের উপযুক্ত নয়, কারণ তিনি আমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর নামে আমাদের কাছে প্রচার করেছেন।”
17 Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying,
১৭তখন সেই দেশের প্রাচীনেরা উঠে এলেন এবং সম্পূর্ণ মণ্ডলীর লোকেদের সাথে কথা বললেন।
18 Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
১৮তাঁরা বললেন, “যিহূদার রাজা হিষ্কিয়ের দিনের মোরেষ্টীয় মীখা ভাববাণী করতেন। তিনি যিহূদার লোকদের বলেছিলেন, ‘বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, সিয়োনকে ক্ষেতের মত লাঙ্গল দেওয়া হবে এবং যিরূশালেম ধ্বংসের স্তূপ হবে আর মন্দিরের পর্বতটি উঁচু ঝোপে পরিণত হবে’।
19 Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and sought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.
১৯যিহূদার রাজা হিষ্কিয় ও যিহূদার সবাই কি তাঁকে হত্যা করেছিল? তিনি কি সদাপ্রভুকে ভয় করেননি এবং সদাপ্রভুকে সন্তুষ্ট করেননি? তার জন্য সদাপ্রভু তাদেরকে যে অমঙ্গলের কথা বলেছিলেন, তার থেকে ক্ষমা করেছেন। তাহলে আমরা কি আমাদের নিজেদের জীবনের বিরুদ্ধে ভীষণ অমঙ্গল করছি?”
20 And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjathjearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.
২০এদিকে একজন ব্যক্তি ছিলেন, যিনি সদাপ্রভুর নামে ভাববাণী করতেন তিনি ছিলেন কিরিয়ৎ-যিয়ারীমের শময়িয়ের ছেলে ঊরিয় তিনি যিরমিয়ের সাথে একমত হয়ে এই শহর ও এই দেশের বিরুদ্ধে ভাববাণী করতেন।
21 And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: but when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt;
২১কিন্তু যখন রাজা যিহোয়াকীম, তাঁর সমস্ত সৈন্য ও রাজকর্মচারীরা তাঁর কথা শুনলেন, তখন রাজা তাঁকে হত্যা করার চেষ্টা করলেন, কিন্তু ঊরিয় শুনলেন এবং ভয় পেলেন, তাই তিনি মিশর দেশে পালিয়ে গেলেন।
22 And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, namely, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt.
২২তখন রাজা যিহোয়াকীম ইলনাথন, অকবোরের ছেলেকে এবং তার সঙ্গে আরও কয়েকজনকে মিশরে পাঠালেন।
23 And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.
২৩তারা মিশর থেকে ঊরিয়কে বের করে রাজা যিহোয়াকীমের কাছে নিয়ে গেল। তখন যিহোয়াকীম তাঁকে তরোয়াল দিয়ে হত্যা করলেন এবং তাঁর মৃতদেহ সাধারণ লোকেদের কবরে পাঠিয়ে দিলেন।
24 Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
২৪কিন্তু শাফনের ছেলে অহীকামের হাত যিরমিয়ের পক্ষে ছিল, তাই তাঁকে হত্যা করার জন্য লোকেদের হাতে সমর্পণ করা হয়নি।
