Ezra 5
1 Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews that were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, even to them.
Now os profetas, Haggai o profeta e Zacarias o filho de Iddo, profetizaram aos judeus que estavam em Judá e Jerusalém. Eles profetizaram a eles em nome do Deus de Israel.
2 Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem: and with them were the prophets of God helping them.
Então Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, e Jesuá, filho de Jozadaque, se levantaram e começaram a construir a casa de Deus que está em Jerusalém; e com eles estavam os profetas de Deus, ajudando-os.
3 At the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shetharboznai and their companions, and said thus to them, Who has commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall?
At ao mesmo tempo que Tattenai, o governador além do rio, veio até eles, com Shetharbozenai e seus companheiros, e lhes perguntou: “Quem lhe deu um decreto para construir esta casa e terminar esta parede?
4 Then said we to them after this manner, What are the names of the men that make this building?
Eles também perguntaram os nomes dos homens que estavam fazendo esta construção.
5 But the eye of their God was on the elders of the Jews, that they could not cause them to cease, till the matter came to Darius: and then they returned answer by letter concerning this matter.
Mas o olho de seu Deus estava sobre os anciãos dos judeus, e eles não os fizeram cessar até que o assunto chegasse a Dario, e uma resposta deveria ser devolvida por carta a respeito.
6 The copy of the letter that Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shetharboznai and his companions the Apharsachites, which were on this side the river, sent to Darius the king:
A cópia da carta que Tattenai, o governador além do rio, e Shetharbozenai, e seus companheiros, os afarsacitas que estavam além do rio, enviaram a Dario o rei segue.
7 They sent a letter to him, wherein was written thus; To Darius the king, all peace.
They enviou uma carta a ele, na qual foi escrita: Para Dario, o rei, toda a paz.
8 Be it known to the king, that we went into the province of Judea, to the house of the great God, which is built with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work goes fast on, and prospers in their hands.
Seja conhecido do rei que entramos na província de Judá, na casa do grande Deus, que está sendo construída com grandes pedras e madeira é colocada nas paredes. Este trabalho continua com diligência e prospera em suas mãos.
9 Then asked we those elders, and said to them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to make up these walls?
Então perguntamos àqueles anciãos, e lhes dissemos assim: “Quem lhes deu um decreto para construir esta casa, e para terminar esta parede?
10 We asked their names also, to certify you, that we might write the names of the men that were the chief of them.
Pedimos-lhes também seus nomes, para informá-los de que poderíamos escrever os nomes dos homens que estavam à sua frente.
11 And thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and build the house that was built these many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and set up.
Assim eles nos responderam, dizendo: “Nós somos os servos do Deus do céu e da terra e estamos construindo a casa que foi construída há muitos anos atrás, que um grande rei de Israel construiu e terminou.
12 But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven to wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.
Mas depois que nossos pais provocaram à ira o Deus do céu, ele os entregou na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, o caldeu, que destruiu esta casa e levou o povo para a Babilônia.
13 But in the first year of Cyrus the king of Babylon the same king Cyrus made a decree to build this house of God.
Mas, no primeiro ano de Ciro, rei da Babilônia, o rei Ciro fez um decreto para construir esta casa de Deus.
14 And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered to one, whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;
Os vasos de ouro e prata da casa de Deus, que Nabucodonosor tirou do templo que estava em Jerusalém e trouxe para o templo da Babilônia, aqueles Ciro, o rei, também tirou do templo da Babilônia, e foram entregues a um cujo nome era Sesbazar, a quem ele havia nomeado governador.
15 And said to him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be built in his place.
Ele lhe disse: 'Pegue estes vasos, vá, coloque-os no templo que está em Jerusalém e deixe que a casa de Deus seja construída em seu lugar'.
16 Then came the same Sheshbazzar, and laid the foundation of the house of God which is in Jerusalem: and since that time even until now has it been in building, and yet it is not finished.
Então veio o mesmo Sesbazar e lançou as fundações da casa de Deus que está em Jerusalém. Desde aquela época até agora, ela tem sido construída, e ainda não está concluída. '
17 Now therefore, if it seem good to the king, let there be search made in the king’s treasure house, which is there at Babylon, whether it be so, that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.
Agora, portanto, se parece bom para o rei, que seja feita uma busca na casa do tesouro do rei, que está lá na Babilônia, se é para que um decreto foi feito pelo rei Ciro para construir esta casa de Deus em Jerusalém; e que o rei nos envie seu prazer a respeito deste assunto”. '
