< Ephesians 5 >
1 Be you therefore followers of God, as dear children;
Esiane sɛ moyɛ Onyankopɔn mma a ɔdɔ wɔn no enti, monsuasua no
2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling smell.
na motena ase ɔdɔ mu sɛdeɛ Kristo dɔɔ yɛn, na ɔde ne nkwa too hɔ maa yɛn sɛ afɔrebɔdeɛ a ɛyɛ hwam ma Onyankopɔn no.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints;
Nanso ɛnsɛ sɛ wɔte adwamammɔ anaa afideɛ anaa anibereɛ ho asɛm wɔ mo mu, ɛfiri sɛ yeinom mfata Onyankopɔn nkurɔfoɔ kronkron.
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
Saa ara nso na ɛmfata sɛ moka kasa efi, ahuhusɛm anaa sɛ moyi nsɛnkwaafi, mmom monna ase.
5 For this you know, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Monnya nteaseɛ sɛ, obiara a ɔbɔ adwaman na ɔyɛ afideɛ, na ɔyɛ oniberefoɔ (anibereɛ yɛ abosonsom) no rennya kyɛfa biara wɔ Kristo ne Onyankopɔn Ahennie no mu bi.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God on the children of disobedience.
Mommma obiara mfa nsɛm a aba nni mu nnaadaa mo. Ɛfiri sɛ, saa nneɛma no na ɛma Onyankopɔn bo fu wɔn a wɔyɛ asoɔden no.
7 Be not you therefore partakers with them.
Enti, mo ne saa nnipa no nnyɛ biribiara.
8 For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
Ɛberɛ bi na moyɛ esum, nanso seesei deɛ, moyɛ hann wɔ Awurade mu. Ne saa enti montena ase sɛ hann mma.
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth; )
Ɛfiri sɛ, hann no ma moyɛ papa, teneneefoɔ ne nokwafoɔ,
10 Proving what is acceptable to the Lord.
na ɛhwehwɛ deɛ ɛsɔ Awurade ani.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Montwe mo ho mfiri nneɛma hunu a wɔyɛ wɔ esum mu ho, na mompa ho ntoma.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
Ɛyɛ aniwu sɛ wɔbɔ nneɛma a asoɔdenfoɔ yɛ no esum mu no so.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatever does make manifest is light.
Nanso sɛ hann no tɔ wɔn so a, yɛbɛhunu nnebɔne biara a wɔyɛ.
14 Why he says, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.
Ɛfiri sɛ, hann da biribiara adi. Enti na wɔaka sɛ, “Nyane, wo a woada, na sɔre firi awufoɔ mu, na Kristo bɛhyerɛn wɔ wo so.”
15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Enti, monhwɛ mo akwan yie, ɛnyɛ sɛ wɔn a wɔnnim nyansa, na mmom sɛ wɔn a wɔnim nyansa.
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Monyɛ mo akwannya biara so adeɛ, ɛfiri sɛ, nna yi yɛ nna bɔne.
17 Why be you not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Monnyɛ adwenem herɛfoɔ, na mmom monte Awurade apɛdeɛ ase.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Monnnom nsã mmmoro na amfa mo ankɔ ahohwiebɔ mu. Na mmom, momma Honhom no nhyɛ mo ma.
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Momfa nnwom, ayɛyie nnwom ne honhom mu nnwom nkasa nkyerɛ mo ho mo ho. Monto dwom mma Awurade na monkamfo no wɔ akoma mu,
20 Giving thanks always for all things to God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
na monna Agya Onyankopɔn ase ɛberɛ biara wɔ biribiara ho wɔ yɛn Awurade Yesu Kristo din mu.
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Momfiri anidie a mowɔ ma Kristo mu, mmrɛ mo ho ase mma mo ho mo ho.
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
Ɔyerenom, mommrɛ mo ho ase mma mo kununom sɛdeɛ mobrɛ mo ho ase ma Awurade no,
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.
ɛfiri sɛ okunu yɛ ɔyere no ti sɛdeɛ Kristo yɛ asafo no ti ne ne Gyefoɔ no. Asafo no yɛ Kristo onipadua.
24 Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Sɛdeɛ asafo no brɛ ne ho ase ma Kristo no, saa ara na ɛsɛ sɛ ɔyerenom brɛ wɔn ho ase wɔ biribiara mu ma wɔn kununom.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Okununom, monnodɔ mo yerenom sɛdeɛ Kristo dɔɔ asafo no na ɔde ne kra too hɔ maa no,
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
na ɔnam asɛm no so de nsuo dwaree no yɛɛ no kronkron,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
de maa ne ho sɛ asafo a ɛhyerɛn, a ɛnni nkekaawa anaasɛ mponponoyɛ anaasɛ ɛdɛm biara, na mmom ɛyɛ kronkron a ɛnni sintɔ.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself.
Saa ara na ɛsɛ sɛ mmarima dɔ wɔn yerenom sɛdeɛ wɔdɔ wɔn onipadua no. Ɔbarima a ɔdɔ ne yere no dɔ nʼankasa ne ho.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church:
Obiara ntane ne ho. Mmom, ɔma no aduane hwɛ no yie sɛdeɛ Kristo yɛ asafo no,
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
na yɛn nso yɛyɛ ne onipadua no ho akwaa.
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
“Yei enti, ɔbarima bɛgya nʼagya ne ne maame, na ɔde ne ho akɔbɔ ne yere na wɔn baanu no nyinaa abɛyɛ honam baako.”
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Yei yɛ ahintasɛm a emu dɔ, nanso mereka Kristo ne asafo no ho asɛm.
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Enti, ɛsɛ sɛ okunu biara dɔ ne yere sɛ nʼankasa ne ho, na ɔyere biara nso de anidie ma ne kunu.
