Ecclesiastes 9
1 For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knows either love or hatred by all that is before them.
Яко праведнии и мудрии и делания их в руце Божией, и любве же и ненависти несть ведяй человек: вся пред лицем их, суета во всех.
2 All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrifices, and to him that sacrifices not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that swears, as he that fears an oath.
Случай един праведному и нечестивому, благому и злому, и чистому и нечистому, и жрущему и не жрущему: якоже благий, тако согрешаяй, якоже кленыйся, тако бояйся клятвы.
3 This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event to all: yes, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
Сие лукаво во всяцем сотворенем под солнцем, яко случай един всем: и сердце сынов человеческих исполнися лукавствия, и прелесть в сердцах их и в животе их, и по сих к мертвым.
4 For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
Понеже кто есть, иже приобщается ко всем живым? Есть надежда, яко пес живый, той благ паче льва мертва.
5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Понеже живии разумеют, яко умрут, мертвии же не суть ведущии ничтоже: и ктому несть им мзды, яко забвена есть память их,
6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.
и любовь их и ненависть их и рвение их уже погибе, и части несть им ктому во веки во всяцем творении под солнцем.
7 Go your way, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God now accepts your works.
Прииди, яждь в веселии хлеб твой и пий во блазе сердцы вино твое, яко уже угодна Богу творения твоя.
8 Let your garments be always white; and let your head lack no ointment.
Во всяко время да будут ризы твоя белы, и елей на главе твоей да не оскудеет.
9 Live joyfully with the wife whom you love all the days of the life of your vanity, which he has given you under the sun, all the days of your vanity: for that is your portion in this life, and in your labor which you take under the sun.
И виждь житие с женою, юже возлюбил еси, во вся дни живота юности твоея, данныя ти под солнцем, вся дни суетствия твоего: яко сие часть твоя в животе твоем и в труде твоем, имже ты трудишися под солнцем.
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you go. (Sheol h7585)
Вся, елика аще обрящет рука твоя сотворити, якоже сила твоя, сотвори: зане несть сотворение и помышление и разум и мудрость во аде, аможе ты идеши тамо. (Sheol h7585)
11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all.
Обратихся и видех под солнцем, яко ни легким течение, ниже сильным брань, ниже самому мудрому хлеб, ниже разумным богатство, ниже ведущым благодать: яко время и случай случится всем сим.
12 For man also knows not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.
Яко убо не разуме человек времене своего: якоже рыбы уловляемы во мрежи зле, и аки птицы уловляемы в сети: якоже сия, уловляются сынове человечестии во время лукаво, егда нападет на ня внезапу.
13 This wisdom have I seen also under the sun, and it seemed great to me:
И сие видех, мудрость под солнцем, и велика есть во мне:
14 There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it:
град мал, и мужей в нем мало, и приидет нань царь велик и окрест обляжет его, и соделает на него остроги велия,
15 Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.
и обрящет в нем мужа нищаго мудра, и сей спасет град мудростию своею, и человек не воспомяну мужа нищаго онаго.
16 Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
И рех аз: блага мудрость паче силы, и мудрость нищаго уничижена, и словеса его не суть послушаема.
17 The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that rules among fools.
Словеса мудрых в покои слышатся, паче клича обладающих в безумии.
18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroys much good.
Блага мудрость паче орудий ратных: и согрешаяй един погубит благостыню многу.
