Deuteronomy 14
1 You are the children of the LORD your God: you shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
Filhos sois do Senhor vosso Deus: não vos dareis golpes, nem poreis calva entre vossos olhos por causa de algum morto.
2 For you are an holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a peculiar people to himself, above all the nations that are on the earth.
Porque és povo sancto ao Senhor teu Deus: e o Senhor te escolheu, de todos os povos que ha sobre a face da terra, para lhe seres o seu povo proprio.
3 You shall not eat any abominable thing.
Nenhuma abominação comereis.
4 These are the beasts which you shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
Estes são os animaes que comereis: o boi, o gado miudo das ovelhas, e o gado miudo das cabras,
5 The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.
O veado, e a corça, e o bufalo, e a cabra montez, e o teixugo, e o boi silvestre, e o gamo.
6 And every beast that parts the hoof, and separates the cleft into two claws, and chews the cud among the beasts, that you shall eat.
Todo o animal que tem unhas fendidas, que tem a unha dividida em duas, que remóe, entre os animaes, aquillo comereis.
7 Nevertheless these you shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean to you.
Porém estes não comereis, dos que sómente remoem, ou que teem a unha fendida: o camelo, e a lebre, e o coelho, porque remóem mas não teem a unha fendida: immundos vos serão.
8 And the swine, because it divides the hoof, yet chews not the cud, it is unclean to you: you shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.
Nem o porco, porque tem unha fendida, mas não remoe; immundo vos será: não comereis da carne d'estes, e não tocareis no seu cadaver.
9 These you shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall you eat:
Isto comereis de tudo o que ha nas aguas: tudo o que tem barbatanas e escamas comereis.
10 And whatever has not fins and scales you may not eat; it is unclean to you.
Mas tudo o que não tiver barbatanas nem escamas não o comereis: immundo vos será.
11 Of all clean birds you shall eat.
Toda a ave limpa comereis.
12 But these are they of which you shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
Porém estas são as de que não comereis: a aguia, e o quebrantosso, e o xofrango,
13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,
E o abutre, e a pêga, e o milhano, segundo a sua especie,
14 And every raven after his kind,
E todo o corvo, segundo a sua especie,
15 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
E o abestruz, e o mocho, e o cuco, e o gavião, segundo a sua especie,
16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,
E o bufo, e a coruja, e a gralha.
17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,
E o cysne, e o pelicano, e o corvo marinho,
18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
E a cegonha, e a garça, segundo a sua especie, e a poupa, e o morcego.
19 And every creeping thing that flies is unclean to you: they shall not be eaten.
Tambem todo o reptil que vôa, vos será immundo: não se comerá.
20 But of all clean fowls you may eat.
Toda a ave limpa comereis.
21 You shall not eat of anything that dies of itself: you shall give it to the stranger that is in your gates, that he may eat it; or you may sell it to an alien: for you are an holy people to the LORD your God. You shall not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.
Não comereis nenhum animal morto; ao estrangeiro, que está dentro das tuas portas, o darás a comer, ou o venderás ao estranho, porquanto és povo sancto ao Senhor teu Deus. Não cozerás o cabrito com o leite da sua mãe.
22 You shall truly tithe all the increase of your seed, that the field brings forth year by year.
Certamente darás os dizimos de toda a novidade da tua semente, que cada anno se recolher do campo.
23 And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your corn, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herds and of your flocks; that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.
E, perante o Senhor teu Deus, no logar que escolher para ali fazer habitar o seu nome, comereis os dizimos do teu grão, do teu mosto e do teu azeite, e os primogenitos das tuas vaccas e das tuas ovelhas: para que aprendas a temer ao Senhor teu Deus todos os dias.
24 And if the way be too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from you, which the LORD your God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD your God has blessed you:
E quando o caminho te fôr tão comprido que os não possas levar por estar longe de ti o logar que escolher o Senhor teu Deus para ali pôr o seu nome, quando o Senhor teu Deus te tiver abençoado;
25 Then shall you turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and shall go to the place which the LORD your God shall choose:
Então vende-os, e ata o dinheiro na tua mão, e vae ao logar que escolher o Senhor teu Deus;
26 And you shall bestow that money for whatever your soul lusts after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever your soul desires: and you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you, and your household,
E aquelle dinheiro darás por tudo o que deseja a tua alma, por vaccas, e por ovelhas, e por vinho, e por bebida forte, e por tudo o que te pedir a tua alma: come-o ali perante o Senhor teu Deus, e alegra-te, tu e a tua casa;
27 And the Levite that is within your gates; you shall not forsake him; for he has no part nor inheritance with you.
Porém não desampararás o levita que está dentro dos tuas portas; pois não tem parte nem herança comtigo.
28 At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall lay it up within your gates:
Ao fim de tres annos tirarás todos os dizimos da tua novidade no mesmo anno, e os recolherás nas tuas portas:
29 And the Levite, (because he has no part nor inheritance with you, ) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
Então virá o levita (pois nem parte nem herança tem comtigo), e o estrangeiro, e o orphão, e a viuva, que estão dentro das tuas portas, e comerão, e fartar-se-hão: para que o Senhor teu Deus te abençoe em toda a obra das tuas mãos, que fizeres.
