< Amos 4 >

1 Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.
Imvani mawu awa, inu ngʼombe zazikazi za ku Basani, okhala pa Phiri la Samariya, inu akazi amene mumapondereza anthu osauka ndi kuzunza anthu osowa ndi kumanena kwa amuna anu kuti, “Tipatseni zakumwa!”
2 The Lord GOD has sworn by his holiness, that, see, the days shall come on you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.
Ambuye Yehova, mwa kuyera mtima kwake walumbira kuti, “Nthawi idzafika ndithu pamene adzakukokani ndi ngowe, womaliza wa inu adzakokedwa ndi mbedza.
3 And you shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and you shall cast them into the palace, says the LORD.
Mudzatulukira mʼmingʼalu ya pa khoma aliyense payekhapayekha, ndipo mudzatayidwa ku Harimoni,” akutero Yehova.
4 Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:
“Bwerani ku Beteli mudzachimwe; ndi ku Giligala kuti mudzapitirize kuchimwa. Bweretsani nsembe zanu mmawa uliwonse, bweretsani chakhumi chanu masiku atatu aliwonse.
5 And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this likes you, O you children of Israel, says the Lord GOD.
Wotchani buledi wokhala ndi yisiti ngati nsembe yachiyamiko ndi kumanyadira poyera za zopereka zanu zaufulu. Inu Aisraeli, zinyadireni nsembezo, pakuti izi ndi zimene mumakonda kuchita,” akutero Ambuye Yehova.
6 And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have you not returned to me, says the LORD.
“Ndine amene ndinakusendetsani milomo mʼmizinda yanu yonse, ndipo munasowa chakudya mʼmizinda yanu. Komatu inu simunabwerere kwa Ine,” akutero Yehova.
7 And also I have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain on one city, and caused it not to rain on another city: one piece was rained on, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
“Ndinenso amene ndinamanga mvula patangotsala miyezi itatu kuti mukolole. Ndinagwetsa mvula pa mzinda wina, koma pa mzinda wina ayi, mvula inkagwa pa munda wina; koma sinagwe pa munda wina ndipo mbewu zinawuma.
8 So two or three cities wandered to one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have you not returned to me, says the LORD.
Anthu ankayenda mzinda ndi mzinda kufuna madzi, koma sanapeze madzi okwanira kumwa. Komabe inu simunabwerere kwa Ine,” akutero Yehova.
9 I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have you not returned to me, says the LORD.
“Nthawi zambiri ndinakantha mbewu zanu ndiponso minda ya mpesa, ndinayikantha ndi chinsikwi ndiponso ndi chiwawu. Dzombe linawononga mikuyu yanu ndi mitengo ya olivi. Komabe inu simunabwerere kwa Ine,” akutero Yehova.
10 I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up to your nostrils: yet have you not returned to me, says the LORD.
“Ine ndinabweretsa miliri pakati panu monga ndinachitira ku Igupto. Ndinapha anyamata anu ndi lupanga, ndinapereka akavalo anu kwa adani. Ndinakununkhitsani fungo la mitembo lochokera mʼmisasa yanu ya nkhondo. Komatu inu simunabwerere kwa Ine,” akutero Yehova.
11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have you not returned to me, says the LORD.
“Ndinawononga ena mwa inu monga ndinawonongera Sodomu ndi Gomora. Inu munali ngati chikuni choyaka chimene chafumulidwa pa moto. Komabe inu simunabwerere kwa Ine,” akutero Yehova.
12 Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel: and because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God, O Israel.
“Choncho izi ndi zimene ndidzakuchitire iwe Israeli, chifukwa ndidzakuchitira zimenezi, konzekera kukumana ndi Mulungu wako, iwe Israeli.”
13 For, see, he that forms the mountains, and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, that makes the morning darkness, and treads on the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
Iye amene amawumba mapiri, amalenga mphepo, ndipo amawululira munthu za mʼmaganizo ake, Iye amene amasandutsa usana kuti ukhale mdima, ndipo amayenda pa zitunda za dziko lapansi, dzina lake ndi Yehova Mulungu Wamphamvuzonse.
