< 3 John 1 >

1 The elder to the well beloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
Ọ bụ okenye ahụ, Na-edegara Gaiọs, onye ahụrụ nʼanya akwụkwọ a, bụ onye m hụrụ nʼanya nʼeziokwu.
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
Onye m hụrụ nʼanya, ekpere m bụ na ahụ ga-esi gị ike, ka ihe na-agara gị nke ọma, dịka ọ na-agara mkpụrụobi gị nke ọma.
3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brothers came and testified of the truth that is in you, even as you walk in the truth.
Aṅụrịrị m ọṅụ nke ukwu, mgbe ụfọdụ ụmụnna bịara gbaa ama banyere ikwesi ntụkwasị obi gị nye eziokwu, na otu i si nọgide na-agbaso eziokwu ahụ.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
O nweghị ihe na-enye m ọṅụ karịa ịnụ na ụmụ m na-agbaso eziokwu.
5 Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do to the brothers, and to strangers;
Onye m hụrụ nʼanya, i kwesiri ntụkwasị obi nʼihe ọbụla nke ị na-emere ụmụnna, ọ bụ ezie na ha bụ ọbịa nye gị.
6 Which have borne witness of your charity before the church: whom if you bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, you shall do well:
Ha akọọlara nzukọ banyere ịhụnanya gị. Biko, mgbe ha na-apụ, nyekwara ha aka nʼije ha nʼụzọ ga-enye Chineke otuto.
7 Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.
Ọ bụ nʼihi aha ahụ ka ha biliri ije, na-anaraghị enyemaka ọbụla site nʼaka ndị na-ekweghị ekwe.
8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow helpers to the truth.
Nke a mere o ji kwesi ekwesi na anyị ga-elekọta ndị dị otu a anya ka anyị bụrụ ndị so ha na-ejikọta aka nʼotu nʼọrụ eziokwu ahụ.
9 I wrote to the church: but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, receives us not.
Edere m akwụkwọ ozi zigara nzukọ ahụ, ma Diotrefis onye ọ na-atọ ụtọ ịbụ onye mbụ, anabataghị anyị nke ọma.
10 Why, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he does, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither does he himself receive the brothers, and forbids them that would, and casts them out of the church.
Ya mere, ọ bụrụ na m abịa, aga m eme ka ihe niile ọ na-eme na ọtụtụ ihe niile ọ na-ekwu megide anyị pụta ìhè. Ọ bụghị naanị na afọ ejughi ya nʼihi ihe ndị a niile, ọ jụrụ ịnabata ndị ụmụnna, ma na-egbochi ndị ọzọ chọrọ ịnabata ha ka ha ghara ime otu ahụ. Ọ na-achụpụkwa ha site nʼụlọ nzukọ.
11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God: but he that does evil has not seen God.
12 Demetrius has good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yes, and we also bear record; and you know that our record is true.
13 I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write to you:
Enwere m ọtụtụ ihe m chọrọ idere gị nʼakwụkwọ, ma achọghị m iji mkpisi odee na inki dee ha.
14 But I trust I shall shortly see you, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to you. Our friends salute you. Greet the friends by name.
Ọ bụ olileanya m ịbịa ịhụ gị nʼoge na-adịghị anya. Mgbe ahụ anyị ga-anọdụ ala kwuo ihe niile nʼihu nʼihu. Ka udo dịrị gị. Ndị enyi niile nọ nʼebe a na-ekele gị. Kelekwa ndị enyi niile nọ nʼebe ahụ nʼaha nʼaha.
