< 2 Samuel 16 >
1 And when David was a little past the top of the hill, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and an hundred bunches of raisins, and an hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.
Daawit fiixee gaarichaa darbee xinnoo erga deemee booddee Ziibaan tajaajilaan Mefiibooshet harroota lamatti buddeena dhibba lama, bixxillee ija wayinii dhibba tokko, bixxillee ija harbuu dhibba tokkoo fi daadhii wayinii qalqalloo tokko feʼee isa simachuuf itti dhufe.
2 And the king said to Ziba, What mean you by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.
Mootichis, “Kana hunda maaliif fidde?” jedhee Siibaa gaafate. Ziibaan immoo, “Harroota akka maatiin mootichaa Yaabbataniif, buddeenaa fi bixxillee ija wayinii akka namoonni nyaataniif, daadhii wayinii immoo akka warri gammoojjii keessatti dadhaban ittiin bayyanataniif” jedhee deebise.
3 And the king said, And where is your master’s son? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he stays at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.
Mootichis, “Ilmi ilma gooftaa keetii eessa jira?” jedhee gaafate. Ziibaan immoo deebisee, “Inni waan, ‘Manni Israaʼel harʼa mootummaa akaakayyuu kootii naa deebisa’ jedhee yaaduuf Yerusaalem keessa jiraata” jedhe.
4 Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, your are all that pertained to Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly beseech you that I may find grace in your sight, my lord, O king.
Mootichis Ziibaadhaan, “Wanni kan Mefiibooshet taʼe hundinuu amma kan kee ti” jedhe. Ziibaanis, “Ani akkan fuula gooftaa kootii, fuula mootichaa duratti surraa argadhuuf ofi qabeen si kadhadha” jedhe.
5 And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.
Akkuma Daawit mootichi Bahuuriim gaʼeen namichi balbala maatii Saaʼol tokko itti dhufe. Maqaan isaas Shimeʼii ilma Geeraa ti; namichi kunis Daawitin abaaraa gad baʼe.
6 And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.
Innis utuma qondaaltonnii fi waardiyyoonni Daawit hundinuu mirgaa fi bitaan Daawitin marsanii jiranuu hunda isaaniitti dhagaa darbachaa ture.
7 And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, you bloody man, and you man of Belial:
Shimeʼiinis akkana jedhee isa abaaraa ture; “Asii baʼi; asii baʼi; ati nama dhiigaa ti; namicha hamaa nana!
8 The LORD has returned on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead you have reigned; and the LORD has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son: and, behold, you are taken in your mischief, because you are a bloody man.
Waaqayyo dhiiga mana Saaʼol kan ati iddoo isaa buutee moote sanaa hundaaf gatii kee siif kenneera. Waaqayyo mootummaa kee sirraa fuudhee ilma kee Abesaaloomiif kenneera. Ati sababii nama dhiigaa taateef ni badda!”
9 Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah to the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray you, and take off his head.
Abiishaayi ilmi Zeruuyaa mootichaan, “Sareen duʼaan kun maaliif gooftaa koo mooticha abaara? Ani dhaqeen mataa isaa irraa kuta” jedhe.
10 And the king said, What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD has said to him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Why have you done so?
Mootichi garuu akkana jedhe; “Yaa ilmaan Zeruuyaa, anii fi isin maal wal irraa qabna? Yoo inni sababii Waaqayyo, ‘Ati Daawitin abaari’ isaan jedheef na abaare eenyutu, ‘Ati maaliif waan kana goota?’ jedhee isa gaafachuu dandaʼa?”
11 And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeks my life: how much more now may this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD has bidden him.
Ergasii Daawit Abiishaayii fi qondaaltota isaa hundaan akkana jedhe; “Ilmi koo kan gudeeda kootii baʼe iyyuu lubbuu koo balleessuu barbaada. Yoos namichi gosa Beniyaam kun hammam kana caalaa hin goone ree! Isa dhiisaa; waan Waaqayyo isa ajajeef inni na haa abaaru.
12 It may be that the LORD will look on my affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.
Tarii Waaqayyo dhiphina koo argee abaarsa ani harʼa abaaramaa jiru kana waan gaariitti naa geeddara taʼaa.”
13 And as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the hill’s side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.
Kanaafuu Daawitii fi namoonni isaa karaa isaanii itti fufan; Shimeʼiin immoo isa abaaraa, dhagaa itti darbachaa, awwaaras itti bittinneessaa fuullee isaatiin gaara cina deemaa ture.
14 And the king, and all the people that were with him, came weary, and refreshed themselves there.
Mootichii fi namoonni isa wajjin turan hundi dadhabbii guddaadhaan dhufanii achitti aara galfatan.
15 And Absalom, and all the people the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
Yeroo kanattis Abesaaloomii fi namoonni Israaʼel hundi gara Yerusaalem dhufan; Ahiitofelis isa wajjin ture.
16 And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, was come to Absalom, that Hushai said to Absalom, God save the king, God save the king.
Huushaayi namichi gosa Arkii michuun Daawit sun Abesaaloom bira dhaqee, “Yaa mootii bara baraan jiraadhu! Yaa mootii bara baraan jiraadhu!” jedheen.
17 And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this your kindness to your friend? why went you not with your friend?
Abesaaloomis, “Jaalalli ati michuu keetiif qabdu kanaa? Ati maaliif michuu kee wajjin hin deemne?” jedhee Huushaayin gaafate.
18 And Hushai said to Absalom, No; but whom the LORD, and this people, and all the men of Israel, choose, his will I be, and with him will I abide.
Huushaayi immoo Abesaaloomiin akkana jedhe; “Lakki; ani kan nama Waaqayyo, sabni kunii fi namoonni Israaʼel hundi filatanii nan taʼa; isa wajjinis nan jiraadha.
19 And again, whom should I serve? should I not serve in the presence of his son? as I have served in your father’s presence, so will I be in your presence.
Kanaa achi ani eenyun tajaajila? Ani Ilma tajaajiluu hin qabuu? Ani akkuman abbaa kee tajaajile sana siʼi illee nan tajaajila.”
20 Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give counsel among you what we shall do.
Abesaaloomis Ahiitofeliin, “Mee nu gorsi. Nu maal gochuu qabna?” jedhe.
21 And Ahithophel said to Absalom, Go in to your father’s concubines, which he has left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that you are abhorred of your father: then shall the hands of all that are with you be strong.
Ahiitofelis deebisee, “Ol seeniitii saajjatoowwan abbaa keetii kanneen inni akka isaan masaraa mootii eeganiif dhiisee biraa deeme wajjin ciisi. Ergasii Israaʼeloonni hundi akka ati abbaa kee jibbite dhagaʼanii, harki warra si wajjin jiran hundaas ni jabaataa” jedheen.
22 So they spread Absalom a tent on the top of the house; and Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.
Kanaafuu bantii manaa irra Abesaaloomiif dunkaana dhaaban; innis Israaʼeloota hunda duratti saajjatoowwan abbaa isaa wajjin ciise.
23 And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counceled in those days, was as if a man had inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
Bara sanatti gorsi Ahiitofel kennaa ture akkuma waan namni tokko Waaqa gaafatuutti ilaalama ture. Akki itti Daawitis taʼu Abesaaloom gorsa Ahiitofel hunda dhagaʼaa turan kanaa dha.
