2 Chronicles 26
1 Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.
| مردم یهودا، عزیا را که شانزده ساله بود به جای پدرش اَمَصیا پادشاه خود ساختند. |
2 He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
| عزیا پس از مرگ پدرش شهر ایلت را برای یهودا پس گرفت و آن را بازسازی کرد. |
3 Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.
| او پنجاه و دو سال در اورشلیم سلطنت نمود. (مادرش یکلیای اورشلیمی بود.) |
4 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.
| او مانند پدرش اَمَصیا آنچه در نظر خداوند پسندیده بود انجام می‌داد. |
5 And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.
| تا زمانی که مشاور روحانی او، زکریا زنده بود، او از خدا پیروی می‌کرد و خدا نیز او را موفق می‌ساخت. |
6 And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
| عزیا به جنگ فلسطینی‌ها رفت و شهر جت را گرفت و حصار آن را خراب کرد و با شهرهای یبنه و اشدود نیز به همین طریق عمل نمود. سپس در ناحیهٔ اشدود و قسمتهای دیگر فلسطین شهرهای تازه‌ای ساخت. |
7 And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelled in Gurbaal, and the Mehunims.
| خدا نه فقط او را در جنگ با فلسطینی‌ها یاری نمود، بلکه در نبرد با اَعرابِ جوربعل و معونی‌ها نیز وی را امداد فرمود. |
8 And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly.
| عمونی‌ها باج و خراج به او می‌پرداختند و نام او تا مصر شهرت یافت زیرا او بسیار نیرومند شده بود. |
9 Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.
| عزیا در شهر اورشلیم نزد دروازهٔ زاویه، دروازهٔ دره و جایی که حصار اورشلیم می‌پیچید قلعه‌های محکمی بنا کرد. |
10 Also he built towers in the desert, and dig many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: farmers also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry.
| همچنین در صحرا برجها ساخت و چاههای بسیار کند زیرا در دشتها و دره‌ها، گله‌های بسیار داشت. عزیا به کشاورزی علاقمند بود و به همین جهت در دامنهٔ تپه‌ها و دشتهای حاصلخیز، مزرعه‌ها و تاکستانهای فراوانی داشت. |
11 Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king’s captains.
| سپاه عزیا از سربازان جنگ آزموده‌ای تشکیل شده بود. در زمان جنگ، یعی‌ئیل، کاتب و معسیا، معاون حننیا که یکی از درباریان بود، سپاه را به چند دسته تقسیم کرده، سان می‌دیدند. |
12 The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valor were two thousand and six hundred.
| دو هزار و ششصد نفر از سران قبایل، فرماندهی این دسته‌ها را به عهده داشتند. |
13 And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
| سپاه زیر دست آنها از ۳۰۷٬۵۰۰ سرباز زبده تشکیل شده بود که با شجاعت از پادشاه در مقابل دشمن دفاع می‌کردند. |
14 And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones.
| عزیا برای تمام افراد سپاه سپر، نیزه، کلاهخود، زره، کمان و فلاخن تهیه کرد. |
15 And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and on the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones with. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvelously helped, till he was strong.
| به دستور او منجنیق‌هایی به‌وسیلۀ صنعتگران ماهر در اورشلیم ساخته شد تا با آنها از بالای برجها و باروها تیر و سنگ به سوی دشمن پرتاب کنند. به این ترتیب او بسیار معروف و قوی شد، زیرا خدا وی را کمک می‌کرد. |
16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.
| اما قدرت عزیا باعث غرور و تباهی او گردید. او وارد خانهٔ خداوند شد و شخصاً بر مذبح آن بخور سوزانید و به این وسیله بر ضد خداوند، خدای خود مرتکب گناه شد. |
17 And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men:
| پشت سر او عزریا، کاهن اعظم با هشتاد کاهن دیگر که همه مردانی شجاع بودند وارد خانهٔ خداوند شده |
18 And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said to him, It appertains not to you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for you have trespassed; neither shall it be for your honor from the LORD God.
| با عزیای پادشاه به مخالفت پرداختند و گفتند: «ای عزیا، سوزاندن بخور برای خداوند کار تو نیست! این فقط وظیفهٔ کاهنان نسل هارون است که برای همین منظور تقدیس شده‌اند. از اینجا خارج شو، چون گناه کرده‌ای و خداوند از این عمل تو خشنود نخواهد شد.» |
19 Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.
| عزیا که در خانۀ خداوند، کنار مذبح بخور ایستاده بود غضبناک شد و نخواست ظرف بخوری را که در دست داشت بر زمین بگذارد. در این هنگام ناگهان مرض جذام در پیشانی او ظاهر شد! |
20 And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked on him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from there; yes, himself hurried also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.
| عزریا و کاهنان دیگر وقتی این را دیدند، با شتاب او را بیرون بردند. او خود نیز می‌خواست هر چه زودتر از خانهٔ خدا خارج شود، زیرا خداوند او را مجازات کرده بود. |
21 And Uzziah the king was a leper to the day of his death, and dwelled in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.
| عزیای پادشاه تا روز وفاتش جذامی بود و در خانه‌ای، تنها به سر می‌برد و اجازه نداشت به خانهٔ خداوند وارد شود. پسرش یوتام امور مملکت را اداره می‌کرد. |
22 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.
| شرح بقیهٔ رویدادهای دوران سلطنت عزیا، از ابتدا تا انتها، توسط اشعیای نبی (پسر آموص) نوشته شده است. |
23 So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
| وقتی عزیا وفات یافت، با اینکه جذامی بود، او را در آرامگاه سلطنتی به خاک سپردند و پسرش یوتام سلطنت را به دست گرفت. |
