1 Kings 11
1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:
Agora o rei Salomão amava muitas mulheres estrangeiras, junto com a filha do Faraó: mulheres dos moabitas, amonitas, edomitas, sidônias e hititas,
2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said to the children of Israel, You shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in to you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon joined to these in love.
das nações sobre as quais Javé disse aos filhos de Israel: “Não ireis entre elas, nem elas virão entre vós, pois certamente desviarão vosso coração de seus deuses”. Salomão se uniu a eles com amor.
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
Ele tinha setecentas esposas, princesas e trezentas concubinas. Suas esposas lhe viraram o coração.
4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
Quando Salomão era idoso, suas esposas viraram seu coração atrás de outros deuses; e seu coração não era perfeito com Javé, seu Deus, como era o coração de Davi, seu pai.
5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
Para Salomão foi atrás de Astoreth, a deusa dos sidônios, e depois de Milcom, a abominação dos amonitas.
6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.
Salomão fez o que era mau aos olhos de Iavé, e não foi totalmente atrás de Iavé, como fez David, seu pai.
7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
Então Salomão construiu um lugar alto para Chemosh, a abominação de Moabe, na montanha que está antes de Jerusalém, e para Moleque a abominação dos filhos de Amom.
8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed to their gods.
Assim fez ele por todas as suas esposas estrangeiras, que queimaram incenso e se sacrificaram a seus deuses.
9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared to him twice,
Javé se indignou com Salomão, porque seu coração se afastou de Javé, o Deus de Israel, que lhe aparecera duas vezes,
10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
e lhe ordenara a respeito desta coisa, que não fosse atrás de outros deuses; mas não guardou o que Javé ordenara.
11 Why the LORD said to Solomon, For as much as this is done of you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely rend the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.
Portanto, Javé disse a Salomão: “Porque isto é feito por ti, e não guardaste meu pacto e meus estatutos, que te ordenei, certamente arrancarei o reino de ti, e o darei a teu servo”.
12 Notwithstanding in your days I will not do it for David your father’s sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of your son.
No entanto, não o farei em seus dias, por amor a Davi, seu pai; mas o arrancarei da mão de seu filho”.
13 However, I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to your son for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.
Entretanto, não arrancarei todo o reino; mas darei uma tribo a seu filho, por causa de Davi, meu servo, e por causa de Jerusalém, que escolhi”.
14 And the LORD stirred up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king’s seed in Edom.
Yahweh levantou um adversário para Salomão: Hadad, o Edomita. Ele era um dos descendentes do rei em Edom.
15 For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;
Pois quando Davi estava em Edom, e Joab, o capitão do exército, tinha subido para enterrar os mortos, e tinha atingido todos os homens em Edom
16 (For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom: )
(para Joab e todo Israel permaneceu lá seis meses, até ter cortado todos os homens em Edom),
17 That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.
Hadad fugiu, ele e alguns edomitas dos servos de seu pai com ele, para ir ao Egito, quando Hadad ainda era uma criança pequena.
18 And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.
Surgiram de Midian e vieram a Paran; levaram homens para fora de Paran, e vieram ao Egito, ao faraó rei do Egito, que lhe deu uma casa, e lhe indicou comida, e lhe deu terra.
19 And Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
Hadad encontrou um grande favor aos olhos do Faraó, de modo que ele lhe deu como esposa a irmã de sua própria esposa, a irmã de Tahpenes, a rainha.
20 And the sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh’s house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh’s household among the sons of Pharaoh.
A irmã de Tahpenes lhe deu à luz Genubá seu filho, que Tahpenes desmamou na casa do Faraó; e Genubá estava na casa do Faraó entre os filhos do Faraó.
21 And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to my own country.
Quando Hadad ouviu no Egito que Davi dormiu com seus pais e que Joab, o capitão do exército, estava morto, Hadad disse ao Faraó: “Deixe-me partir, para que eu possa ir para meu próprio país”.
22 Then Pharaoh said to him, But what have you lacked with me, that, behold, you seek to go to your own country? And he answered, Nothing: however, let me go in any wise.
Então o Faraó lhe disse: “Mas o que lhe faltou comigo, que eis que você procura ir para seu próprio país”? Ele respondeu: “Nada, porém apenas me deixe partir”.
23 And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:
Deus levantou para ele um adversário, Rezon, o filho de Eliada, que havia fugido de seu senhor, Hadadezer, rei de Zobah.
24 And he gathered men to him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelled therein, and reigned in Damascus.
Ele reuniu homens para si mesmo, e se tornou capitão de uma tropa, quando Davi os matou de Zobah. Eles foram para Damasco e viveram lá, e reinaram em Damasco.
25 And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
Ele foi um adversário de Israel durante todos os dias de Salomão, além das travessuras de Hadade. Ele abominava Israel, e reinou sobre a Síria.
26 And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon’s servant, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.
Jeroboão, filho de Nebat, um efraimita de Zeredah, um servo de Salomão, cuja mãe se chamava Zeruah, uma viúva, também levantou a mão contra o rei.
27 And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.
Esta foi a razão pela qual ele ergueu a mão contra o rei: Salomão construiu Millo, e reparou a brecha da cidade de seu pai David.
28 And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.
O homem Jeroboão era um homem poderoso e valoroso; e Salomão viu o jovem que era industrioso, e o encarregou de todo o trabalho da casa de José.
29 And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:
Naquele tempo, quando Jeroboão saiu de Jerusalém, o profeta Ahijah, o silonita, encontrou-o no caminho. Agora Ahijah havia se revestido com uma nova vestimenta; e os dois estavam sozinhos no campo.
30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:
Ahijah pegou a nova vestimenta que estava sobre ele e a rasgou em doze peças.
31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take you ten pieces: for thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to you:
Ele disse a Jeroboam: “Pegue dez peças”; pois Javé, o Deus de Israel, diz: “Eis que arrancarei o reino da mão de Salomão e vos darei dez tribos
32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel: )
(mas ele terá uma tribo, por amor de meu servo Davi e por amor de Jerusalém, a cidade que escolhi de todas as tribos de Israel),
33 Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in my eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.
porque me abandonaram, e adoraram Astareth, a deusa dos sidônios, Chemosh, o deus dos moabitas, e Milcom, o deus dos filhos de Amon. Eles não se meteram nos meus caminhos, para fazer o que é certo aos meus olhos, e para manter meus estatutos e minhas ordenanças, como fez Davi, seu pai.
34 However, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:
“'Entretanto, não tirarei o reino inteiro de sua mão, mas farei dele príncipe todos os dias de sua vida, por amor a David, meu servo que escolhi, que guardou meus mandamentos e meus estatutos,
35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand, and will give it to you, even ten tribes.
mas tirarei o reino da mão de seu filho e o darei a você, mesmo a dez tribos.
36 And to his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.
darei uma tribo a seu filho, para que David, meu servo, tenha sempre uma lâmpada diante de mim em Jerusalém, a cidade que escolhi para colocar meu nome lá.
37 And I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.
Eu te levarei, e reinarás de acordo com tudo o que tua alma desejar, e serás rei sobre Israel.
38 And it shall be, if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with you, and build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you.
Será, se ouvirdes tudo o que eu vos ordeno, se andardes nos meus caminhos e fizerdes o que é justo aos meus olhos, para guardar meus estatutos e meus mandamentos, como fez Davi, meu servo, que eu estarei convosco, e vos construirei uma casa segura, como construí para Davi, e vos darei Israel.
39 And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.
afligirei a descendência de Davi por isto, mas não para sempre”.
40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
Portanto, Salomão procurou matar Jeroboão, mas Jeroboão levantou-se e fugiu para o Egito, para Shishak, rei do Egito, e esteve no Egito até a morte de Salomão.
41 And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
Now o resto dos atos de Salomão, e tudo o que ele fez, e sua sabedoria, não estão eles escritos no livro dos atos de Salomão?
42 And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
O tempo em que Salomão reinou em Jerusalém sobre todo Israel foi de quarenta anos.
43 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
Salomão dormiu com seus pais, e foi enterrado na cidade de seu pai Davi; e Roboão seu filho reinou em seu lugar.
