1 Corinthians 14
1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that you may prophesy.

2 For he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not to men, but to God: for no man understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, alouke lawk kapan e ni tami koe pan hoeh, Cathut koe doeh a pan, apinihai panuek hoeh, hrolawk naw muitha lahoi doeh a pan.
3 But he that prophesies speaks to men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
Hatei lawk ka pâpho e niteh, roung saknae, tha poenae, lungmawng nahanelah taminaw koe a pâpho.
4 He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies the church.
Alouke lawk kapan e ni teh ama dueng doeh a roung sak. Profet lawk ka pâpho e ni teh kawhmoun a roung sak.
5 I would that you all spoke with tongues but rather that you prophesied: for greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
Nangmouh pueng alouke lawk koung pan sak hanlah na ngaikhai awh. Profet lawk dei hanelah hoe na ngaikhai awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, alouke lawk kapan e tami teh kawhmoun a roung nahan deicainae tawn hoehpawiteh, ahni hlak profet lawk ka pâpho e aphu o hnawn.
6 Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
Hmaunawnghanaw, kai nangmouh koe ka tho teh alouke lawk hoi ka dei nakunghai, lawk tâhlatnae, lungang pâtunae, profet lawk deicainae, cangkhainae buetbuet touh sak laipalah bangmaw aphu kaawm.
7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
Hot patetlah doeh, ka cairing e ratoung tamawi, vovitnaw teh kamceng lah a lawk tâcawt sak hoehpawiteh ratoung lawk vovit lawknaw bangtelamaw panue thai han vaw.
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
Mongka hai a lamthung lah ueng hoehpawiteh, taran tuk hanelah apimaw kârakueng han vaw.
9 So likewise you, except you utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for you shall speak into the air.
Hot patetvanlah, thai panuek e lawk na dei hoehpawiteh, na dei e lawk bangtelamaw panue thai han. Kahlî koe kapan e patet la doeh awm tih.
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
Talaivan lawk a cawngca ao. Lawk pueng deingainae koung ao. Thai panuek hoeh e buet touh hai awm hoeh.
11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be to him that speaks a barbarian, and he that speaks shall be a barbarian to me.
Lawk hah tâhlat hoehpawiteh, kadeikung koe kai teh tamipathu lah doeh ka o. Kadeikung hai kai koe tamipathu lah doeh ao van.
12 Even so you, for as much as you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that you may excel to the edifying of the church.
Hatdawkvah, nangmouh Muitha koe lae poehnonaw coe han hoe na ngai awh dawkvah, kawhmoun ka roung sak hane muitha poehnonaw hah hoe ka kuepcing lah hmu hanelah panki awh.
13 Why let him that speaks in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
Hatdawkvah alouke lawk kapan e ni a deicai thai nahan ratoum naseh.
14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, alouke lawk hoi ka ratoum pawiteh, ka muitha ni a ratoum ei nakunghai ka panuenae koe hawinae poe hoeh.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Bangtelah ne ti han. Lungthin hoi muitha hoi ratoum han. Lungthin hoi muitha hoi pholen han.
16 Else when you shall bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupies the room of the unlearned say Amen at your giving of thanks, seeing he understands not what you say?
Hoehpawiteh nang ni muitha hoi na pholen navah, ka thoum hoeh e niyah nange lawk a thai panuek hoeh dawkvah, lunghawi pholennae dawk bangtelamaw, Amen ati thai han.
17 For you truly give thanks well, but the other is not edified.

18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than you all:
Nangmouh hlak, alouke lawk lahoi moikapap ka dei dawk Cathut e lungmanae ka pholen,
19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

20 Brothers, be not children in understanding: however, in malice be you children, but in understanding be men.
Hmaunawnghanaw, kho pouknae camo lah awm a hanh, kahawihoehe hno dawk camo lah awm awh, panuenae koe lah kacue e lah awm awh.
21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak to this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, says the LORD.
Cakathoung dawk thut e patetlah alouke lai, alouke pahni hoi hete miphun koe ka dei han, hat nakunghai ahnimouh ni thai ngai awh mahoeh telah BAWIPA ni a ti.
22 Why tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serves not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
Hatdawkvah alouke lawknaw teh, kayuemnaw han mitnout lah awm hoeh. Kayuemhoehnaw hane mitnout lah ao. Profet lawk deinae, kayuemhoehnaw hane nahoeh. Kayuemnaw hane la doeh.
23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that you are mad?
Kawhmoun thung cungtalah a kamkhueng nah, alouke lawk hoi a dei awh navah, ka yuem hoeh e, lawk ka panuek hoeh e kâen pawiteh, kapathunaw ati a han nahoehmaw.
24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believes not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
Nangmouh ni lawk na pâpho awh navah, ka yuem hoeh e lawk ka panuek hoeh e tami kâen pawiteh, ahnimouh hah nangmouh ni kahawicalah na dei pouh e lahoi, tamikayon lah ka o tie a kâpanue han.
25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
Ahnimae lungthin dawk kamphawng hoeh e naw bout a kamphawng vaiteh, a tabo lahoi Cathut a bawk han. Cathut teh nangmouh koe ao katang telah a kampangkhai han.
26 How is it then, brothers? when you come together, every one of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to edifying.
Hmaunawnghanaw, na kamkhueng awh toteh, Sam la ka sak ngai e, ka cangkhai ngai e, alouke lawk kapan ngai e, pâpho lawk ka dei ngai e, ka deicai thai e lengkaleng na o awh dawk, bangpuengpa kawhmoun a roung nahanlah sak awh.
27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
Alouke lawk kapan e tami awm pawiteh, kahni touh nakunghai, kathum touh nakunghai, kapap poung lah kathum touh ni buet touh hnukkhu buet touh ni a dei han, hatnavah buet touh ni dei ngainae kamnuek sak seh.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
Ka dei cai e tami awm hoehpawiteh, kadeikung teh, kawhmoun thung lawkkamuem lah awm naseh, ama hoi Cathut rahak dueng pan naseh.
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
Profet kahni kathum touh ni a dei e hah alouknaw ni kahawicalah noumcai awh naseh.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sits by, let the first hold his peace.
Ka tahung e tami koe buetbuet touh kâpâpho pawiteh, hmaloe ka dei e teh lawkkamuem lah duem awm naseh.
31 For you may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, tami pueng kamtu hanelah thoseh, tami pueng teh lungmawng nahanelah thoseh, nangmouh pueng teh patuen patuen lawk na pâpho thai awh.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
Profetnaw hai, amamae lungthin muitha a kâcakuep thai awh.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Cathut teh kâponae ka sak e doeh. Tami kathoung naw e kawhmounnaw thungvah kâponae lah kaawm e Cathut doeh.
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted to them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also says the law.
Napuinaw kawhmounnaw thung lawkkamuem lah awmseh. Ahnimouh dei thainae kâ tawn awh hoeh. Phung lawk ni a dei e patetlah ahnimouh teh tongpa uknae rahim awm naseh.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Yunaw buetbuet touh kamtu han ngai awh pawiteh, im vah a vanaw koe pacei naseh. Yu ni kawhmoun dawk lawk dei pawiteh yeirai pui doeh.
36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it to you only?
Cathut e a lawk nangmouh koehoi maw a tâco. Nahoeh pawiteh nangmouh koe ka phat e na ou.
37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.
Kai ni nangmouh koe na poe e lawknaw heh Bawipa e kâpoelawk doeh tie hah, profet lah kaawm e, muitha poehno ka coe e ni teh oe tet naseh, panuek hoehpawiteh a panue hoeh e patetlah awm naseh.
38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
Lawk racuinae lah, hmaunawnghanaw nangmouh profet lawk dei han ngainae kalenpoung tawn a loe.
39 Why, brothers, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
Alouke lawk lahoi pâphonae hai cakâ pouh hanh awh.
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
Hno cawngca a lamthung patetlah kamcu lah sak hanelah ao.
