1 Chronicles 10
1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.
பெலிஸ்தியர் இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு எதிராகப் போரிட்டனர்; இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக தப்பியோடினர். அநேகர் கில்போவா மலையில் வெட்டப்பட்டு விழுந்தனர்.
2 And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
பெலிஸ்தியர் சவுலையும், அவனுடைய மகன்களையும் பின்தொடர்ந்து துரத்திச்சென்று அவர்களில் யோனத்தானையும், அபினதாபையும், மல்கிசூவாவையும் கொன்றார்கள்.
3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers.
சவுலைச் சுற்றிலும் யுத்தம் தீவிரமடைந்தது. வில்வீரர்கள் நெருங்கிவந்து அவனைக் காயப்படுத்தினர்.
4 Then said Saul to his armor bearer, Draw your sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armor bearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell on it.
அப்பொழுது சவுல் தனது யுத்த ஆயுதங்களைச் சுமப்பவனிடம், “அந்த விருத்தசேதனம் இல்லாதவர்கள் வந்து என்னை அவமானப்படுத்தாதபடிக்கு உனது வாளினால் என்னை உருவக்குத்து” என்றான். ஆனால் அவனுடைய யுத்த ஆயுதங்களைச் சுமப்பவன் பயத்தினால் அப்படிச் செய்யவில்லை. எனவே சவுல் தன் சொந்த வாளை எடுத்து அதன்மேல் விழுந்தான்.
5 And when his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.
யுத்த ஆயுதம் சுமப்பவன் சவுல் இறந்ததைக் கண்டதும் தானும் தனது வாள்மேல் விழுந்து இறந்தான்.
6 So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house died together.
இவ்வாறு சவுலும் அவனுடைய மூன்று மகன்களும் இறந்தனர்; அவனுடைய முழுக் குடும்பமும் ஒருமித்து அழிந்துபோயிற்று.
7 And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelled in them.
பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே இருந்த இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் போர்வீரர் ஓடிப்போவதையும், சவுலும் அவன் மகன்களும் இறந்துபோனதையும் கண்டபோது, அவர்களும் தாங்கள் இருந்த பட்டணங்களைவிட்டு தப்பியோடினர். உடனே பெலிஸ்தியர் அங்கே வந்து குடியேறினர்.
8 And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa.
மறுநாள் இறந்தவர்களின் உடைமைகளை எடுத்துக்கொள்ள பெலிஸ்தியர் வந்தபோது, சவுலும் அவனுடைய மகன்களும் கில்போவா மலையில் இறந்துகிடக்கக் கண்டார்கள்.
9 And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armor, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings to their idols, and to the people.
எனவே அவர்கள் அவனுடைய உடையைக் கழற்றி, தலையை வெட்டி அவனுடைய யுத்த கவசங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள். பின்பு அச்செய்தியை தங்கள் தெய்வங்களுக்கும் தங்கள் மக்களுக்கும் அறிவிக்கும்படி, தூதுவர்களை பெலிஸ்திய நாடு எங்கும் அனுப்பினார்கள்.
10 And they put his armor in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.
அவர்கள் அவனுடைய ஆயுதங்களை தங்கள் தெய்வங்களின் கோவிலில் வைத்தனர். அவனுடைய தலையையோ தாகோனின் கோவிலில் கட்டித் தொங்கவிட்டனர்.
11 And when all Jabeshgilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
பெலிஸ்தியர் சவுலுக்குச் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள யாபேஸ் பட்டண மக்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டார்கள்.
12 They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
அப்பொழுது அவர்களின் வலிமைவாய்ந்த மனிதர்கள் சென்று, சவுலின் உடலையும், அவனுடைய மகன்களின் உடல்களையும் யாபேசுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். அங்கே யாபேசிலுள்ள ஒரு கர்வாலி மரத்தின் கீழே எலும்புகளை அடக்கம்பண்ணி ஏழு நாட்கள் உபவாசம் இருந்தார்கள்.
13 So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire of it;
சவுல் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக உண்மையற்றவனாகக் காணப்பட்டதால் இறந்தான்; அதோடு அவன் யெகோவாவினுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கைக்கொள்ளாமல் குறிபார்ப்பவர்களிடத்திலும் ஆலோசனை பெற்றான்.
14 And inquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.
அவன் யெகோவாவிடம் விசாரிக்கவில்லை. எனவே யெகோவா அவனைக் கொன்று, அரசாட்சியை ஈசாயின் மகனான தாவீதிற்குக் கொடுத்தார்.
