Zephaniah 2
1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O shameless nation;
Reúnase, reúnanse todos, oh nación indeseable;
2 Before the decree bring forth the day when one passeth as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you.
Antes de que el decreto del Señor entre en vigencia; antes de que el Señor te envíe violentamente en fuga como la basura de grano; antes de que la ira ardiente del Señor venga sobre ti, antes que el día de la ira del Señor venga sobre ti.
3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye humble of the earth, that have executed His ordinance; seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.
Busquen al Señor, todos los humildes en la tierra, que han hecho lo que es correcto a sus ojos; busca la justicia y un corazón tranquilo; puede ser que estés protegido en el día de la ira del Señor.
4 For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation; they shall drive out Ashdod at the noonday, and Ekron shall be rooted up.
Porque Gaza será abandonada y Ascalón se convertirá en basura; expulsarán a Asdod a mitad del día, y los de Ecrón serán desarraigados.
5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea-coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines; I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
¡Ay! de la gente que vive junto al mar, la nación de Creta! La palabra del Señor está contra ti, oh Canaán, la tierra de los filisteos; Enviaré destrucción sobre ti hasta que no haya nadie viviendo en ti.
6 And the sea-coast shall be pastures, even meadows for shepherds, and folds for flocks.
Y la tierra junto al mar será tierra de pasto, con casas para los cuidadores de ovejas y lugares amurallados para los rebaños.
7 And it shall be a portion for the remnant of the house of Judah, whereon they shall feed; in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening; for the LORD their God will remember them, and turn their captivity.
La tierra junto al mar será para el remanente de los hijos de Judá; junto al mar darán comida a sus rebaños; en las casas de Ascalón reposarán por la tarde; porque el Señor su Dios los visitará y los hará volver de su cautiverio.
8 I have heard the taunt of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, wherewith they have taunted My people, and spoken boastfully concerning their border.
Mis oídos han escuchado los insultos de Moab y las injurias de los hijos de Amón, que han dicho contra mi pueblo, se han engrandecido contra el límite de su tierra.
9 Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding-place of nettles, and saltpits, and a desolation, for ever; the residue of My people shall spoil them, and the remnant of My nation shall inherit them.
Por esta causa, según mi vida, dice el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, Moab se convertirá verdaderamente como Sodoma y los hijos de Amón como Gomorra, campo de espinos y minas de sal y desolación para siempre; el remanente de mi gente tomará sus propiedades, el remanente de mi nación tomará su herencia.
10 This shall they have for their pride, because they have taunted and spoken boastfully against the people of the LORD of hosts.
Este será su destino debido a su orgullo, porque han dicho mal, alzándose contra el pueblo del Señor de los ejércitos.
11 The LORD will be terrible unto them; for He will famish all the gods of the earth; then shall all the isles of the nations worship Him, every one from its place.
El Señor será terrible contra ellos, porque hará que todos los dioses de la tierra sean débiles; y los hombres descenderán delante de él en adoración, todos desde su lugar, incluso todas las islas.
12 Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by My sword.
Y ustedes, etíopes, serán muertos por mi espada.
13 And He will stretch out His hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like the wilderness.
Y su mano se extenderá contra el norte, para la destrucción de Asiria; y hará que Nínive sea una desolación y se seque como el desierto.
14 And all beasts of every kind shall lie down in the midst of her in herds; both the pelican and the bittern shall lodge in the capitals thereof; voices shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the posts; for the cedar-work thereof shall be uncovered.
Y los rebaños reposarán en medio de ella, todas las bestias del Valle; el pelícano y el puercoespín se instalarán en la parte superior de sus pilares; la lechuza llorará en la ventana; el cuervo se verá en la puerta.
15 This is the joyous city that dwelt without care, that said in her heart: 'I am, and there is none else beside me'; how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! Every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
Este es el pueblo que estaba lleno de alegría, viviendo sin temor al peligro, diciendo en su corazón: Yo soy, y no hay otro más que yo; cómo ha sido destruido, se ha convertido en un lugar para que las bestias descansen! Todo él que pase junto a ella silbará y meneará su mano.
