Zechariah 5

1 Then again I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and behold a flying roll.

Miré una vez más y vi un rollo que volaba.

2 And he said unto me: 'What seest thou?' And I answered: 'I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.'

“¿Qué ves?” me preguntó el ángel. “Veo un rollo que vuela”, respondí. “Tiene diez metros de largo y quince de ancho”.

3 Then said he unto me: 'This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole land; for every one that stealeth shall be swept away on the one side like it; and every one that sweareth shall be swept away on the other side like it.

Entonces me dijo: “Esta es la maldición que caerá sobre todo el mundo. Cualquiera que roba será purgado de entre la sociedad, según un lado del rollo. Cualquiera que jura con engaño, será purgado de entre la Sociedad, según el otro lado del rollo”.

4 I cause it to go forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by My name; and it shall abide in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.'

“Yo he enviado esta maldición y entrará a la casa del ladrón, y a la casa del que jura con mentiras en mi nombre, declara el Señor Todopoderoso. La maldición permanecerá en esa casa y destruirá tanto las vigas como los ladrillos”.

5 Then the angel that spoke with me went forth, and said unto me: 'Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.'

Entonces el ángel con el que yo había estado hablando vino hacia mi, y me dijo: “Mira, ¿ves eso que se mueve?”

6 And I said: 'What is it?' And he said: 'This is the measure that goeth forth.' He said moreover: 'This is their eye in all the land —

“¿Qué es?” le pregunté. “Lo que ves moverse es un barril lleno de los pecados de todos en la nación”, respondió.

7 and, behold, there was lifted up a round piece of lead — and this is a woman sitting in the midst of the measure.'

Entonces la tapa del barril se levantó y había una mujer sentada adentro.

8 And he said: 'This is Wickedness.' And he cast her down into the midst of the measure, and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.

“Ella representa la maldad”, me dijo, y la empujó hacia adentro de nuevo, forzando la tapa hasta cerrarla.

9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there came forth two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork; and they lifted up the measure between the earth and the heaven.

Levanté la mirada otra vez y vi dos mujeres que volaban hacia mi. Sus alas parecían alas de cigüeña. Ellos recogieron el barril y se fueron volando, muy alto en el cielo.

10 Then said I to the angel that spoke with me: 'Whither do these bear the measure?'

“¿A dónde lo llevan?” le pregunté al ángel con que hablaba.

11 And he said unto me: 'To build her a house in the land of Shinar; and when it is prepared, she shall be set there in her own place.

“Lo llevan a la tierra de Babilonia para construir una casa para él. Cuando la casa esté lista, el barril será puesto sobre su cimiento”.
