Zechariah 4
1 And the angel that spoke with me returned, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.
Et l’ange qui parlait en moi revint, et me réveilla comme un homme qu’on réveille de son sommeil.
2 And he said unto me: 'What seest thou?' And I said: 'I have seen, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and its seven lamps thereon; there are seven pipes, yea, seven, to the lamps, which are upon the top thereof;
Et il me dit: Que vois-tu, toi? Et je répondis: J’ai vu, et voilà un chandelier tout d’or, et sa lampe sur son sommet, et ses sept lampes au-dessus; et sept canaux aux lampes qui étaient sur son sommet;
3 and two olive-trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.'
Et deux oliviers au-dessus; un à la droite de la lampe, et un à sa gauche.
4 And I answered and spoke to the angel that spoke with me, saying: 'What are these, my lord?'
Et je pris la parole, et je dis à l’ange qui parlait en moi: Qu’est ceci, mon Seigneur?
5 Then the angel that spoke with me answered and said unto me: 'Knowest thou not what these are?' And I said: 'No, my lord.'
Et l’ange qui parlait en moi me répondit et me dit: Est-ce que tu ne sais pas ce que c’est? Et je dis: Non, mon Seigneur.
6 Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying: 'This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying: Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Et il reprit, et s’adressa à moi, disant: Voici la parole du Seigneur à Zorobabel. Ce n’est point par une armée, ni par la force, que tu achèveras le temple, mais par mon esprit, dit le Seigneur des armées.
7 Who art thou, O great mountain before Zerubbabel? thou shalt become a plain; and he shall bring forth the top stone with shoutings of Grace, grace, unto it.'
Qu’es-tu, grande montagne, devant Zorobabel? tu seras aplanie; il posera la pierre principale, et il ajoutera une beauté égale à sa beauté.
8 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:
9 'The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
Les mains de Zorobabel ont fondé cette maison, et ses mains l’achèveront; et vous saurez que le Seigneur des armées m’a envoyé vers vous.
10 For who hath despised the day of small things? even they shall see with joy the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel, even these seven, which are the eyes of the LORD, that run to and fro through the whole earth.'
Car qui a vu avec mépris les jours courts? Mais on se réjouira, et on verra le plomb à la main de Zorobabel. Ce sont là les sept yeux du Seigneur qui parcourent toute la terre.
11 Then answered I, and said unto him: 'What are these two olive-trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?'
Et je repris et je lui dis: Que sont ces deux oliviers à la droite du chandelier, et à sa gauche?
12 And I answered the second time, and said unto him: 'What are these two olive branches, which are beside the two golden spouts, that empty the golden oil out of themselves?'
Et je repris une seconde fois, et je lui dis: Que sont ces deux branches d’oliviers qui sont auprès de deux becs d’or dans lesquels sont les canaux d’or par où coule l’huile?
13 And he answered me and said: 'Knowest thou not what these are?' And I said: 'No, my lord.'
Et il m’interpella, en disant: Est-ce que tu ne sais pas ce que c’est? Et je répondis: Non, mon Seigneur.
14 Then said he: 'These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.'
Et il dit: Ce sont les deux fils de l’huile sainte, qui assistent devant le Dominateur de toute la terre.
