Zechariah 4
1 And the angel that spoke with me returned, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.
L'ange qui parlait avec moi revint et me réveilla, comme un homme qu'on réveille de son sommeil.
2 And he said unto me: 'What seest thou?' And I said: 'I have seen, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and its seven lamps thereon; there are seven pipes, yea, seven, to the lamps, which are upon the top thereof;
Il me dit: « Que vois-tu? » J'ai dit: « J'ai vu, et voici un chandelier tout d'or, avec sa coupe au sommet, et ses sept lampes dessus; il y a sept tuyaux à chacune des lampes qui sont au sommet;
3 and two olive-trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.'
et deux oliviers près de lui, l'un à droite de la coupe, et l'autre à gauche. »
4 And I answered and spoke to the angel that spoke with me, saying: 'What are these, my lord?'
J'ai répondu et j'ai parlé à l'ange qui m'a parlé, en disant: « Qu'est-ce que c'est, mon seigneur? »
5 Then the angel that spoke with me answered and said unto me: 'Knowest thou not what these are?' And I said: 'No, my lord.'
Alors l'ange qui parlait avec moi me répondit: « Ne sais-tu pas ce que c'est? » J'ai dit, « Non, mon seigneur. »
6 Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying: 'This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying: Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Alors il prit la parole et me dit: « Voici la parole que Yahvé a adressée à Zorobabel: Ce n'est ni par la force, ni par la puissance, mais par mon Esprit, dit Yahvé des armées.
7 Who art thou, O great mountain before Zerubbabel? thou shalt become a plain; and he shall bring forth the top stone with shoutings of Grace, grace, unto it.'
Qui es-tu, grande montagne? Devant Zorobabel, tu n'es qu'une plaine, et il fera sortir la pierre de faîte aux cris de « Grâce, grâce, à elle! ».
8 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée, en ces termes:
9 'The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
Les mains de Zorobabel ont posé les fondements de cette maison. Ses mains l'achèveront aussi, et vous saurez que l'Éternel des armées m'a envoyé vers vous.
10 For who hath despised the day of small things? even they shall see with joy the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel, even these seven, which are the eyes of the LORD, that run to and fro through the whole earth.'
En effet, qui méprise le jour des petites choses? Car ces sept-là se réjouiront, et ils verront le fil à plomb dans la main de Zorobabel. Ce sont les yeux de Yahvé, qui parcourent de long en large toute la terre. »
11 Then answered I, and said unto him: 'What are these two olive-trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?'
Et je lui demandai: « Que sont ces deux oliviers à droite du chandelier et à gauche de celui-ci? ».
12 And I answered the second time, and said unto him: 'What are these two olive branches, which are beside the two golden spouts, that empty the golden oil out of themselves?'
Je lui demandai une seconde fois: « Que sont ces deux branches d'olivier, qui sont à côté des deux becs d'or qui versent l'huile d'or d'eux-mêmes? »
13 And he answered me and said: 'Knowest thou not what these are?' And I said: 'No, my lord.'
Il m'a répondu: « Tu ne sais pas ce que c'est? » J'ai dit, « Non, mon seigneur. »
14 Then said he: 'These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.'
Puis il dit: « Ce sont les deux oints qui se tiennent auprès du Seigneur de toute la terre. »
