Psalms 89
1 Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever; to all generations will I make known Thy faithfulness with my mouth.
Роздуми Етана-езрахітянина. Про милість Господа повіки співатиму, з роду в рід звіщатиму Його вірність.
2 For I have said: 'For ever is mercy built; in the very heavens Thou dost establish Thy faithfulness.
Кажу-бо я: навіки поставлена милість, на небесах утверджена Твоя вірність.
3 I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn unto David My servant:
«Уклав Я Завіт Свій з обраним Моїм, поклявся Я Давидові, рабу Своєму:
4 For ever will I establish thy seed, and build up thy throne to all generations.' (Selah)
навіки утверджу насіння Твоє, із роду в рід [непохитно] поставлю престол твій». (Села)
5 So shall the heavens praise Thy wonders, O LORD, Thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
І небеса прославлять чудеса Твої, Господи, Твою вірність – на зібранні святих.
6 For who in the skies can be compared unto the LORD, who among the sons of might can be likened unto the LORD,
Бо хто на хмарах може стати в один ряд із Господом? Хто серед синів Божих міг би бути подібним до Господа?
7 A God dreaded in the great council of the holy ones, and feared of all them that are about Him?
Бог трепетно вшанований на великій раді святих і грізний серед усіх, хто Його оточує.
8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a mighty one, like unto Thee, O LORD? And Thy faithfulness is round about Thee.
Господи, Боже Воїнств, хто такий могутній, як Ти? Вірність Твоя – навколо Тебе.
9 Thou rulest the proud swelling of the sea; when the waves thereof arise, Thou stillest them.
Ти пануєш над розбурханим морем; коли здіймаються хвилі його, Ти втихомирюєш їх.
10 Thou didst crush Rahab, as one that is slain; Thou didst scatter Thine enemies with the arm of Thy strength.
Ти вразив Раава, немов убитого в бою; Своїм раменом міцним Ти розсіяв ворогів Своїх.
11 Thine are the heavens, Thine also the earth; the world and the fulness thereof, Thou hast founded them.
Твої небеса і земля Твоя; Ти заснував всесвіт і все, що наповнює його.
12 The north and the south, Thou hast created them; Tabor and Hermon rejoice in Thy name.
Ти створив північ і південь; гори Тавор і Хермон веселяться іменем Твоїм.
13 Thine is an arm with might; strong is Thy hand, and exalted is Thy right hand.
Рамено Твоє могутнє, рука Твоя міцна, піднесена правиця Твоя.
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Thy throne; mercy and truth go before Thee.
Правда й справедливість – основа Твого престолу, милість та істина йдуть перед Твоїм обличчям.
15 Happy is the people that know the joyful shout; they walk, O LORD, in the light of Thy countenance.
Блаженний народ, що знає звук сурми – у світлі Твого обличчя, Господи, вони ходять.
16 In Thy name do they rejoice all the day; and through Thy righteousness are they exalted.
Іменем Твоїм веселяться цілий день і праведністю Твоєю підносяться.
17 For Thou art the glory of their strength; and in Thy favour our horn is exalted.
Бо окраса їхньої міці – Ти, і завдяки прихильності Твоїй наш ріг піднесеться.
18 For of the LORD is our shield; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
Адже від Господа – щит наш, і від Святого Ізраїлевого – цар наш.
19 Then Thou spokest in vision to Thy godly ones, and saidst: 'I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
Колись промовляв Ти у видінні вірним Своїм, кажучи: «Я подав допомогу воїну, підніс обраного з народу.
20 I have found David My servant; with My holy oil have I anointed him;
Я знайшов Давида, раба Мого, олією святою помазав його.
21 With whom My hand shall be established; Mine arm also shall strengthen him.
Рука Моя підтримає його, рамено Моє зміцнить його.
22 The enemy shall not exact from him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
Не здолає його ворог, і син беззаконня не буде його гнітити.
23 And I will beat to pieces his adversaries before him, and smite them that hate him.
Пошматую перед ним усіх ворогів його й розіб’ю ненависників його.
24 But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him; and through My name shall his horn be exalted.
Вірність і милість Моя з ним, і в ім’я Моє піднесеться ріг його.
25 I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
Покладу його руку на море, а його правицю – на ріки.
26 He shall call unto Me: Thou art my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
Він буде кликати Мене: „Ти – мій Батько, мій Бог і скеля мого спасіння!“
27 I also will appoint him first-born, the highest of the kings of the earth.
Я зроблю його первістком, вищим від усіх царів землі.
28 For ever will I keep for him My mercy, and My covenant shall stand fast with him.
Повіки берегтиму милість Мою до нього, і Завіт Мій з ним буде непорушним.
29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
Продовжу насіння його навіки, і престол його – як дні неба.
30 If his children forsake My law, and walk not in Mine ordinances;
Якщо ж залишать нащадки його Закон Мій і не будуть ходити за Моїми законами правосуддя,
31 If they profane My statutes, and keep not My commandments;
якщо статутами Моїми знехтують і заповідей Моїх дотримуватися не будуть,
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with strokes.
то Я жезлом покараю беззаконня їхні й ударами – їхні гріхи.
33 But My mercy will I not break off from him, nor will I be false to My faithfulness.
Але милості Моєї не відійму від нього й не зраджу вірності Моєї.
34 My covenant will I not profane, nor alter that which is gone out of My lips.
Не збезчещу Завіт Мій і того, що вийшло із вуст Моїх, не зміню.
35 Once have I sworn by My holiness: Surely I will not be false unto David;
Одного разу заприсягнув Я святістю Моєю, як же [тепер] скажу Я неправду Давидові?
36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before Me.
Насіння його повік перебуватиме, і престол його, як сонце, переді Мною,
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon; and be stedfast as the witness in sky.' (Selah)
як той місяць – свідок вірний на хмарах – навіки утверджений». (Села)
38 But Thou hast cast off and rejected, Thou hast been wroth with Thine anointed.
Але Ти знехтував, відкинув, розгнівався на Свого помазанця.
39 Thou hast abhorred the covenant of Thy servant; Thou hast profaned his crown even to the ground.
Ти зневажив Завіт із рабом Своїм, кинув на землю вінець його.
40 Thou hast broken down all his fences; Thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.
Ти зруйнував усі огорожі його, перетворив фортеці його на руїну.
41 All that pass by the way spoil him; he is become a taunt to his neighbours.
Грабують його всі, хто проходить дорогою; він став ганьбою для сусідів своїх.
42 Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries; Thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
Ти підніс правицю супротивників його, порадував усіх його ворогів.
43 Yea, Thou turnest back the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
Ти повернув назад вістря його меча й не підтримав його на війні.
44 Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
Ти поклав край його величі й престол його кинув на землю.
45 The days of his youth hast Thou shortened; Thou hast covered him with shame. (Selah)
Ти скоротив дні юності його, вкрив його соромом. (Села)
46 How long, O LORD, wilt Thou hide Thyself for ever? How long shall Thy wrath burn like fire?
Доки, Господи, ховатися будеш? Чи назавжди? [Доки] палатиме, як вогонь, гнів Твій?
47 O remember how short my time is; for what vanity hast Thou created all the children of men!
Згадай, яке швидкоплинне життя моє! Для якого марного [життя] Ти створив усіх синів людських!
48 What man is he that liveth and shall not see death, that shall deliver his soul from the power of the grave? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Чи може хто жити й не побачити смерті? Чи може хто врятувати душу свою від царства мертвих? (Села) (Sheol h7585)
49 Where are Thy former mercies, O Lord, which Thou didst swear unto David in Thy faithfulness?
Де ж милість Твоя, яку раніше Ти з’являв, Володарю, про яку присягався Давидові вірністю Своєю?
50 Remember, Lord, the taunt of Thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the taunt of so many peoples;
Згадай, Володарю, ганьбу рабів Твоїх, яку я терплю в нутрі моєму від численних народів,
51 Wherewith Thine enemies have taunted, O LORD, wherewith they have taunted the footsteps of Thine anointed.
як безчестять вороги Твої, Господи, як неславлять сліди помазанця Твого.
52 Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
