Psalms 89
1 Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever; to all generations will I make known Thy faithfulness with my mouth.
| قصیدۀ ایتانِ اِزراحی. ای خداوند، محبت تو را همواره خواهم ستود و با زبان خود پیوسته از وفاداری تو سخن خواهم گفت، |
2 For I have said: 'For ever is mercy built; in the very heavens Thou dost establish Thy faithfulness.
| زیرا محبت تو همیشگی است و وفاداری تو چون آسمانها پایدار است. |
3 I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn unto David My servant:
| تو با خادم برگزیده‌ات داوود عهد بسته‌ای و وعده کرده‌ای که |
4 For ever will I establish thy seed, and build up thy throne to all generations.' (Selah)
| تخت سلطنت او را تا ابد، نسل اندر نسل، پایدار خواهی داشت. |
5 So shall the heavens praise Thy wonders, O LORD, Thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
| خداوندا، آسمانها از کارهای شگفت‌انگیز تو تعریف می‌کنند و امانت و وفاداری تو را می‌ستایند. |
6 For who in the skies can be compared unto the LORD, who among the sons of might can be likened unto the LORD,
| در آسمانها کیست که با تو، ای خداوند، برابری کند؟ در میان موجودات آسمانی چه کسی را می‌توان به تو تشبیه کرد؟ |
7 A God dreaded in the great council of the holy ones, and feared of all them that are about Him?
| تو در میان مقدّسین مورد ستایش هستی؛ آنان با ترس و احترام گرداگرد تو ایستاده‌اند. |
8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a mighty one, like unto Thee, O LORD? And Thy faithfulness is round about Thee.
| ای یهوه، خدای لشکرهای آسمان، کیست مانند تو؟ تو در قدرت و امانت بی‌نظیری! |
9 Thou rulest the proud swelling of the sea; when the waves thereof arise, Thou stillest them.
| بر امواج دریاها مسلط هستی و طغیان آنها را آرام می‌گردانی. |
10 Thou didst crush Rahab, as one that is slain; Thou didst scatter Thine enemies with the arm of Thy strength.
| تو مصر را در هم کوبیدی و با دست توانای خود دشمنانت را تار و مار ساختی. |
11 Thine are the heavens, Thine also the earth; the world and the fulness thereof, Thou hast founded them.
| آسمانها و زمین و هر آنچه در جهان است از آن تو می‌باشند؛ زیرا تو آنها را آفریده‌ای. |
12 The north and the south, Thou hast created them; Tabor and Hermon rejoice in Thy name.
| شمال و جنوب را تو به وجود آورده‌ای. کوه تابور و حرمون، مظهر قدرت تو می‌باشند. |
13 Thine is an arm with might; strong is Thy hand, and exalted is Thy right hand.
| دست تو بسیار تواناست. تو خدای متعال هستی. |
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Thy throne; mercy and truth go before Thee.
| فرمانروایی تو بر اساس عدل و انصاف است. در تمام کارهایت محبت و وفاداری مشاهده می‌شود. |
15 Happy is the people that know the joyful shout; they walk, O LORD, in the light of Thy countenance.
| خوشا به حال مردمی که می‌دانند چگونه تو را تحسین و تمجید کنند، زیرا آنها در نور حضورت راه خواهند رفت. |
16 In Thy name do they rejoice all the day; and through Thy righteousness are they exalted.
| آنها تمام روز به نام تو شادی می‌کنند و به سبب عدالت تو سربلند می‌باشند. |
17 For Thou art the glory of their strength; and in Thy favour our horn is exalted.
| تو به ما قدرت می‌بخشی و به لطف خویش ما را پیروز و سرافراز می‌گردانی. |
18 For of the LORD is our shield; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
| ای خداوند، تو از ما حمایت کردی؛ ای خدای مقدّس اسرائیل، تو به ما پادشاه بخشیدی. |
19 Then Thou spokest in vision to Thy godly ones, and saidst: 'I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
| در عالم رویا با نبی خود سخن گفتی و فرمودی: «در میان اسرائیل جوانی را برگزیده‌ام و او را سرافراز نموده‌ام تا پادشاه شود؛ |
20 I have found David My servant; with My holy oil have I anointed him;
| او خدمتگزار من داوود است. من او را با روغن مقدّس مسح کرده‌ام |
21 With whom My hand shall be established; Mine arm also shall strengthen him.
| و او را پایدار و توانا خواهم ساخت. |
22 The enemy shall not exact from him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
| دشمنانش بر او پیروز نخواهند شد و آسیبی از مخالفانش به او نخواهد رسید. |
23 And I will beat to pieces his adversaries before him, and smite them that hate him.
| در برابر چشمان وی بدخواهانش را از بین خواهم برد و آنانی را که از او نفرت داشته باشند هلاک خواهم نمود. |
24 But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him; and through My name shall his horn be exalted.
| از وفاداری و محبت من برخوردار خواهد بود و من او را پیروز و سرافراز خواهم ساخت. |
25 I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
| قلمرو فرمانروایی او را از دریای بزرگ تا رود فرات وسعت خواهم بخشید. |
26 He shall call unto Me: Thou art my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
| او مرا پدر خود و خدا و صخرهٔ نجات خویش خواهد خواند. |
27 I also will appoint him first-born, the highest of the kings of the earth.
| من نیز با او چون پسر ارشد خویش رفتار خواهم کرد و او را برتر از تمام پادشاهان جهان خواهم ساخت. |
28 For ever will I keep for him My mercy, and My covenant shall stand fast with him.
| محبت خود را هرگز از او دریغ نخواهم داشت، زیرا عهد من با او عهدی ابدی می‌باشد. |
29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
| نسل او را تا ابد باقی خواهم گذاشت و سلطنت او جاودانی خواهد بود. |
30 If his children forsake My law, and walk not in Mine ordinances;
| «اما اگر فرزندانش از دستورهای من سرپیچی کنند و احکام مرا بشکنند، |
31 If they profane My statutes, and keep not My commandments;
| اگر فرایض مرا زیر پا بگذارند، و احکام مرا نگاه ندارند، |
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with strokes.
| آنگاه ایشان را تنبیه خواهم نمود. |
33 But My mercy will I not break off from him, nor will I be false to My faithfulness.
| با این حال او را از محبت خود محروم نخواهم کرد و نسبت به قولی که داده‌ام، وفادار خواهم ماند. |
34 My covenant will I not profane, nor alter that which is gone out of My lips.
| آری، عهد خود را نخواهم شکست و آنچه را که گفته‌ام تغییر نخواهم داد. |
35 Once have I sworn by My holiness: Surely I will not be false unto David;
| یک بار به داوود به نام مقدّس خود وعده دادم و هرگز آن را باطل نخواهم کرد |
36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before Me.
| که نسل او تا ابد باقی خواهد ماند و سلطنت وی تا زمانی که خورشید بدرخشد دوام خواهد داشت |
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon; and be stedfast as the witness in sky.' (Selah)
| و مانند ماه که شاهد باوفایی در آسمان است، پایدار خواهد بود.» |
38 But Thou hast cast off and rejected, Thou hast been wroth with Thine anointed.
| اما ای خداوند، تو بر پادشاه برگزیدهٔ خود غضبناکی و او را ترک کرده‌ای. |
39 Thou hast abhorred the covenant of Thy servant; Thou hast profaned his crown even to the ground.
| آیا عهد خود را با خدمتگزار خویش باطل نموده‌ای؟ تو تاج او را بر زمین انداخته‌ای و آن را بی‌حرمت ساخته‌ای! |
40 Thou hast broken down all his fences; Thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.
| حصار شهر او را شکسته‌ای و قلعه‌هایش را خراب کرده‌ای. |
41 All that pass by the way spoil him; he is become a taunt to his neighbours.
| هر که از راه می‌رسد اموال او را غارت می‌کند. او نزد همسایگان خود رسوا شده است. |
42 Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries; Thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
| دشمنانش را بر او پیروز ساخته‌ای. |
43 Yea, Thou turnest back the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
| شمشیر او را کند کرده‌ای. در جنگ به او کمک نکرده‌ای. |
44 Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
| تخت سلطنتش را واژگون ساخته، به شکوه و عظمتش خاتمه داده‌ای. |
45 The days of his youth hast Thou shortened; Thou hast covered him with shame. (Selah)
| پیری زودرس به سراغش فرستاده‌ای و نزد همه رسوایش کرده‌ای. |
46 How long, O LORD, wilt Thou hide Thyself for ever? How long shall Thy wrath burn like fire?
| ای خداوند، تا به کی روی خود را پنهان می‌کنی؟ آیا تا ابد خشم تو چون آتش افروخته خواهد بود؟ |
47 O remember how short my time is; for what vanity hast Thou created all the children of men!
| به یاد آور که عمر انسان چقدر کوتاه است. تو همهٔ انسانها را فناپذیر آفریده‌ای. |
48 What man is he that liveth and shall not see death, that shall deliver his soul from the power of the grave? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
| کیست که بتواند نمیرد و تا ابد زنده بماند؟ (Sheol h7585) |
49 Where are Thy former mercies, O Lord, which Thou didst swear unto David in Thy faithfulness?
| ای خداوند، کجاست محبت نخستین تو؟ کجاست وعدهٔ محبت تو که در نهایتِ وفاداری به داوود دادی؟ |
50 Remember, Lord, the taunt of Thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the taunt of so many peoples;
| ببین مردم چگونه مرا ملامت می‌کنند. بار ملامتهای آنها را بر دوش می‌کشم. |
51 Wherewith Thine enemies have taunted, O LORD, wherewith they have taunted the footsteps of Thine anointed.
| دشمنانت پادشاه برگزیده‌ات را ریشخند می‌کنند و هر جا پای می‌نهد به او توهین می‌کنند. |
52 Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
| شکر و سپاس بر نام خداوند تا ابد! آمین! آمین! |
