Psalms 89
1 Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever; to all generations will I make known Thy faithfulness with my mouth.
エズラびとエタンのマスキールの歌 主よ、わたしはとこしえにあなたのいつくしみを歌い、わたしの口をもってあなたのまことをよろずよに告げ知らせます。
2 For I have said: 'For ever is mercy built; in the very heavens Thou dost establish Thy faithfulness.
あなたのいつくしみはとこしえに堅く立ち、あなたのまことは天のようにゆるぐことはありません。
3 I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn unto David My servant:
あなたは言われました、「わたしはわたしの選んだ者と契約を結び、わたしのしもべダビデに誓った、
4 For ever will I establish thy seed, and build up thy throne to all generations.' (Selah)
『わたしはあなたの子孫をとこしえに堅くし、あなたの王座を建てて、よろずよに至らせる』」。 (セラ)
5 So shall the heavens praise Thy wonders, O LORD, Thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
主よ、もろもろの天にあなたのくすしきみわざをほめたたえさせ、聖なる者のつどいで、あなたのまことをほめたたえさせてください。
6 For who in the skies can be compared unto the LORD, who among the sons of might can be likened unto the LORD,
大空のうちに、だれか主と並ぶものがあるでしょうか。神の子らのうちに、だれか主のような者があるでしょうか。
7 A God dreaded in the great council of the holy ones, and feared of all them that are about Him?
主は聖なる者の会議において恐るべき神、そのまわりにあるすべての者にまさって大いなる恐るべき者です。
8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a mighty one, like unto Thee, O LORD? And Thy faithfulness is round about Thee.
万軍の神、主よ、主よ、だれかあなたのように大能のある者があるでしょうか。あなたのまことは、あなたをめぐっています。
9 Thou rulest the proud swelling of the sea; when the waves thereof arise, Thou stillest them.
あなたは海の荒れるのを治め、その波の起るとき、これを静められます。
10 Thou didst crush Rahab, as one that is slain; Thou didst scatter Thine enemies with the arm of Thy strength.
あなたはラハブを、殺された者のように打ち砕き、あなたの敵を力ある腕をもって散らされました。
11 Thine are the heavens, Thine also the earth; the world and the fulness thereof, Thou hast founded them.
もろもろの天はあなたのもの、地もまたあなたのもの、世界とその中にあるものとはあなたがその基をおかれたものです。
12 The north and the south, Thou hast created them; Tabor and Hermon rejoice in Thy name.
北と南はあなたがこれを造られました。タボルとヘルモンは、み名を喜び歌います。
13 Thine is an arm with might; strong is Thy hand, and exalted is Thy right hand.
あなたは大能の腕をもたれます。あなたの手は強く、あなたの右の手は高く、
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Thy throne; mercy and truth go before Thee.
義と公平はあなたのみくらの基、いつくしみと、まことはあなたの前に行きます。
15 Happy is the people that know the joyful shout; they walk, O LORD, in the light of Thy countenance.
祭の日の喜びの声を知る民はさいわいです。主よ、彼らはみ顔の光のなかを歩み、
16 In Thy name do they rejoice all the day; and through Thy righteousness are they exalted.
ひねもす、み名によって喜び、あなたの義をほめたたえます。
17 For Thou art the glory of their strength; and in Thy favour our horn is exalted.
あなたは彼らの力の栄光だからです。われらの角はあなたの恵みによって高くあげられるでしょう。
18 For of the LORD is our shield; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
われらの盾は主に属し、われらの王はイスラエルの聖者に属します。
19 Then Thou spokest in vision to Thy godly ones, and saidst: 'I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
昔あなたは幻をもってあなたの聖徒に告げて言われました、「わたしは勇士に栄冠を授け、民の中から選ばれた者を高くあげた。
20 I have found David My servant; with My holy oil have I anointed him;
わたしはわがしもべダビデを得て、これにわが聖なる油をそそいだ。
21 With whom My hand shall be established; Mine arm also shall strengthen him.
わが手は常に彼と共にあり、わが腕はまた彼を強くする。
22 The enemy shall not exact from him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
敵は彼をだますことなく、悪しき者は彼を卑しめることはない。
23 And I will beat to pieces his adversaries before him, and smite them that hate him.
わたしは彼の前にもろもろのあだを打ち滅ぼし、彼を憎む者どもを打ち倒す。
24 But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him; and through My name shall his horn be exalted.
わがまことと、わがいつくしみは彼と共にあり、わが名によって彼の角は高くあげられる。
25 I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
わたしは彼の手を海の上におき、彼の右の手を川の上におく。
26 He shall call unto Me: Thou art my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
彼はわたしにむかい『あなたはわが父、わが神、わが救の岩』と呼ぶであろう。
27 I also will appoint him first-born, the highest of the kings of the earth.
わたしはまた彼をわがういごとし、地の王たちのうちの最も高い者とする。
28 For ever will I keep for him My mercy, and My covenant shall stand fast with him.
わたしはとこしえに、わがいつくしみを彼のために保ち、わが契約は彼のために堅く立つ。
29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
わたしは彼の家系をとこしえに堅く定め、その位を天の日数のようにながらえさせる。
30 If his children forsake My law, and walk not in Mine ordinances;
もしその子孫がわがおきてを捨て、わがさばきに従って歩まないならば、
31 If they profane My statutes, and keep not My commandments;
もし彼らがわが定めを犯し、わが戒めを守らないならば、
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with strokes.
わたしはつえをもって彼らのとがを罰し、むちをもって彼らの不義を罰する。
33 But My mercy will I not break off from him, nor will I be false to My faithfulness.
しかし、わたしはわがいつくしみを彼から取り去ることなく、わがまことにそむくことはない。
34 My covenant will I not profane, nor alter that which is gone out of My lips.
わたしはわが契約を破ることなく、わがくちびるから出た言葉を変えることはない。
35 Once have I sworn by My holiness: Surely I will not be false unto David;
わたしはひとたびわが聖によって誓った。わたしはダビデに偽りを言わない。
36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before Me.
彼の家系はとこしえに続き、彼の位は太陽のように常にわたしの前にある。
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon; and be stedfast as the witness in sky.' (Selah)
また月のようにとこしえに堅く定められ、大空の続くかぎり堅く立つ」。 (セラ)
38 But Thou hast cast off and rejected, Thou hast been wroth with Thine anointed.
しかしあなたは、あなたの油そそがれた者を捨ててしりぞけ、彼に対して激しく怒られました。
39 Thou hast abhorred the covenant of Thy servant; Thou hast profaned his crown even to the ground.
あなたはそのしもべとの契約を廃棄し、彼の冠を地になげうって、けがされました。
40 Thou hast broken down all his fences; Thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.
あなたはその城壁をことごとくこわし、そのとりでを荒れすたれさせられました。
41 All that pass by the way spoil him; he is become a taunt to his neighbours.
そこを通り過ぎる者は皆彼をかすめ、彼はその隣り人のあざけりとなりました。
42 Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries; Thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
あなたは彼のあだの右の手を高くあげ、そのもろもろの敵を喜ばせられました。
43 Yea, Thou turnest back the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
まことに、あなたは彼のつるぎの刃をかえして、彼を戦いに立たせられなかったのです。
44 Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
あなたは彼の手から王のつえを取り去り、その王座を地に投げすてられました。
45 The days of his youth hast Thou shortened; Thou hast covered him with shame. (Selah)
あなたは彼の若き日をちぢめ、恥をもって彼をおおわれました。 (セラ)
46 How long, O LORD, wilt Thou hide Thyself for ever? How long shall Thy wrath burn like fire?
主よ、いつまでなのですか。とこしえにお隠れになるのですか。あなたの怒りはいつまで火のように燃えるのですか。
47 O remember how short my time is; for what vanity hast Thou created all the children of men!
主よ、人のいのちの、いかに短く、すべての人の子を、いかにはかなく造られたかを、みこころにとめてください。
48 What man is he that liveth and shall not see death, that shall deliver his soul from the power of the grave? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
だれか生きて死を見ず、その魂を陰府の力から救いうるものがあるでしょうか。 (セラ) (Sheol h7585)
49 Where are Thy former mercies, O Lord, which Thou didst swear unto David in Thy faithfulness?
主よ、あなたがまことをもってダビデに誓われた昔のいつくしみはどこにありますか。
50 Remember, Lord, the taunt of Thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the taunt of so many peoples;
51 Wherewith Thine enemies have taunted, O LORD, wherewith they have taunted the footsteps of Thine anointed.
主よ、あなたのしもべがうけるはずかしめをみこころにとめてください。主よ、あなたのもろもろの敵はわたしをそしり、あなたの油そそがれた者の足跡をそしります。わたしはもろもろの民のそしりをわたしのふところにいだいているのです。
52 Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
主はとこしえにほむべきかな。アァメン、アァメン。
