Psalms 82

1 A Psalm of Asaph. God standeth in the congregation of God; in the midst of the judges He judgeth:

Dio si alza nell'assemblea divina, giudica in mezzo agli dei. Salmo. Di Asaf.

2 'How long will ye judge unjustly, and respect the persons of the wicked? (Selah)

«Fino a quando giudicherete iniquamente e sosterrete la parte degli empi?

3 Judge the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and destitute.

Difendete il debole e l'orfano, al misero e al povero fate giustizia.

4 Rescue the poor and needy; deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.

Salvate il debole e l'indigente, liberatelo dalla mano degli empi».

5 They know not, neither do they understand; they go about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are moved.

Non capiscono, non vogliono intendere, avanzano nelle tenebre; vacillano tutte le fondamenta della terra.

6 I said: Ye are godlike beings, and all of you sons of the Most High.

Io ho detto: «Voi siete dei, siete tutti figli dell'Altissimo».

7 Nevertheless ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.'

Eppure morirete come ogni uomo, cadrete come tutti i potenti.

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for Thou shalt possess all nations.

Sorgi, Dio, a giudicare la terra, perché a te appartengono tutte le genti.
