Psalms 81
1 For the Leader; upon the Gittith. A Psalm of Asaph. Sing aloud unto God our strength; shout unto the God of Jacob.
Mai marelui muzician, pe o harpă ghitită, un psalm al lui Asaf. Cântați tare lui Dumnezeu, tăria noastră; înălțați sunet de bucurie către Dumnezeul lui Iacob.
2 Take up the melody, and sound the timbrel, the sweet harp with the psaltery.
Înălțați un psalm și aduceți tamburina, plăcuta harpă cu psalterionul.
3 Blow the horn at the new moon, at the full moon for our feast-day.
Sunați trâmbița la luna nouă, la timpul rânduit, în ziua solemnei noastre sărbători.
4 For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
Căci acesta a fost un statut pentru Israel și o lege a Dumnezeului lui Iacob.
5 He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, when He went forth against the land of Egypt. The speech of one that I knew not did I hear:
El a rânduit aceasta în Iosif ca mărturie, când a ieșit traversând țara Egiptului, unde eu am auzit o limbă pe care nu am înțeles-o.
6 'I removed his shoulder from the burden; His hands were freed from the basket.
Am îndepărtat povara de pe umărul său, mâinile lui au scăpat de coșuri.
7 Thou didst call in trouble, and I rescued thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. (Selah)
Ai chemat în tulburare și te-am eliberat; ți-am răspuns în locul tainic al tunetului, te-am încercat la apele din Meriba. (Selah)
8 Hear, O My people, and I will admonish thee: O Israel, if thou wouldest hearken unto Me!
Ascultă, poporul meu, și îți voi mărturisi; Israele, dacă îmi vei da ascultare,
9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any foreign god.
Să nu fie niciun dumnezeu străin în tine; nici să nu te închini vreunui dumnezeu străin.
10 I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt; open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Eu sunt DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, care te-a adus din țara Egiptului, deschide-ți gura larg și o voi umple.
11 But My people hearkened not to My voice; and Israel would none of Me.
Dar poporul meu a refuzat să dea ascultare vocii mele; și Israel m-a refuzat.
12 So I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart, that they might walk in their own counsels.
Așa că i-am dat poftei inimilor lor și au umblat în propriile lor sfaturi.
13 Oh that My people would hearken unto Me, that Israel would walk in My ways!
O, dacă poporul meu mi-ar fi dat ascultare și Israel ar fi umblat în căile mele!
14 I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries.
Îndată aș fi supus pe dușmanii lor și mi-aș fi întors mâna împotriva potrivnicilor lor.
15 The haters of the LORD should dwindle away before Him; and their punishment should endure for ever.
Cei ce îl urăsc pe DOMNUL i s-ar fi supus, iar timpul lor ar fi dăinuit pentru totdeauna.
16 They should also be fed with the fat of wheat; and with honey out of the rock would I satisfy thee.'
El i-ar fi hrănit de asemenea cu grăsimea grâului, și te-aș fi săturat cu miere din stâncă.
