Psalms 81
1 For the Leader; upon the Gittith. A Psalm of Asaph. Sing aloud unto God our strength; shout unto the God of Jacob.
Dem Sangmeister. Auf der Githith. Von Asaph. Jubelt dem Gott, unserer Stärke, jauchzet auf dem Gotte Jakobs.
2 Take up the melody, and sound the timbrel, the sweet harp with the psaltery.
Erhebet den Psalm und schlaget die Pauke, die lieblich Harfe mit dem Psalter.
3 Blow the horn at the new moon, at the full moon for our feast-day.
Am Neumond stoßt in die Posaune, zur Feier am Tage unseres Festes.
4 For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
Denn Satzung ist das für Israel, ein Recht für Jakobs Gott.
5 He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, when He went forth against the land of Egypt. The speech of one that I knew not did I hear:
Ein Zeugnis setzte Er es für Joseph, da Er auszog wider das Land Ägypten. Eine Lippe, die ich nicht kannte, hörte ich.
6 'I removed his shoulder from the burden; His hands were freed from the basket.
Ich habe seine Schulter von der Last weggenommen, und seine Hände gingen vorbei an dem Ofen.
7 Thou didst call in trouble, and I rescued thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. (Selah)
Du riefst in der Drangsal, und Ich zog dich heraus, antwortete dir in des Donners Verborgenheit, Ich prüfte dich am Haderwasser. (Selah)
8 Hear, O My people, and I will admonish thee: O Israel, if thou wouldest hearken unto Me!
Höre, Mein Volk, daß wider dich Ich zeuge; o daß du auf Mich hörtest, Israel!
9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any foreign god.
Es soll kein fremder Gott in dir sein, und du sollst keinen ausländischen Gott anbeten.
10 I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt; open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Ich, Jehovah, bin dein Gott, Der dich aus dem Lande Ägypten heraufgeführt. Tue weit auf deinen Mund und Ich will ihn füllen.
11 But My people hearkened not to My voice; and Israel would none of Me.
Und Mein Volk hörte nicht auf Meine Stimme, und Israel wollte nichts von Mir.
12 So I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart, that they might walk in their own counsels.
Und Ich entsandte sie im Eigensinn ihres Herzens, sie wandelten nach ihren Ratschlägen.
13 Oh that My people would hearken unto Me, that Israel would walk in My ways!
O, daß Mein Volk auf Mich hörte, Israel in Meinen Wegen wandelte!
14 I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries.
Um ein Weniges hätte Ich ihre Feinde niedergebeugt, und wider ihre Dränger Meine Hand zurückgekehrt.
15 The haters of the LORD should dwindle away before Him; and their punishment should endure for ever.
Die, so Jehovah hassen, müßten Ihm huldigen, und ihre Zeit wäre ewig.
16 They should also be fed with the fat of wheat; and with honey out of the rock would I satisfy thee.'
Und Ich würde sie von dem Fett des Weizens essen lassen und aus dem Felsen sie mit Honig sättigen.
