Psalms 77
1 For the Leader; for Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I will lift up my voice unto God, and cry; I will lift up my voice unto God, that He may give ear unto me.
[Dem Vorsänger, für Jeduthun. Von Asaph, ein Psalm.] Meine Stimme ist zu Gott, und ich will schreien; meine Stimme ist zu Gott, und er wird mir Gehör schenken.
2 In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; with my hand uplifted, mine eye streameth in the night without ceasing; my soul refuseth to be comforted.
Am Tage meiner Drangsal suchte ich den Herrn; meine Hand war des Nachts ausgestreckt und ließ nicht ab; [O. erschlaffe nicht] meine Seele weigerte sich getröstet zu werden.
3 When I think thereon, O God, I must moan; when I muse thereon, my spirit fainteth. (Selah)
Ich gedachte Gottes, und ich stöhnte; ich sann nach, und mein Geist ermattete. (Sela)
4 Thou holdest fast the lids of mine eyes; I am troubled, and cannot speak.
Du hieltest fest [d. h. offen] die Lider meiner Augen; ich war voll Unruhe und redete nicht.
5 I have pondered the days of old, the years of ancient times.
Ich durchdachte die Tage vor alters, die Jahre der Urzeit.
6 In the night I will call to remembrance my song; I will commune with mine own heart; and my spirit maketh diligent search:
Ich gedachte meines Saitenspiels in der Nacht; ich sann nach in meinem Herzen, und es forschte mein Geist.
7 'Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will He be favourable no more?
Wird der Herr auf ewig verwerfen, und hinfort keine Gunst mehr erweisen?
8 Is His mercy clean gone for ever? Is His promise come to an end for evermore?
Ist zu Ende seine Güte für immer? Hat das Wort [d. h. die Zusage [Verheißung]] aufgehört von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht?
9 Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath He in anger shut up his compassions?' (Selah)
Hat Gott [El] vergessen gnädig zu sein? Hat er im Zorn verschlossen seine Erbarmungen? (Sela)
10 And I say: 'This is my weakness, that the right hand of the Most High could change.
Da sprach ich: Das ist mein Kranksein. [O. Weh] Der Jahre der Rechten des Höchsten,
11 I will make mention of the deeds of the LORD; yea, I will remember Thy wonders of old.
Will ich gedenken, [d. h. rühmend gedenken. O. Das ist mein Kranksein: die Jahre der Rechten des Höchsten. Gedenken will ich usw.] der Taten des Jah; denn deiner Wunder von alters her will ich gedenken;
12 I will meditate also upon all Thy work, and muse on Thy doings.'
Und ich will nachdenken über all dein Tun, und über deine Taten will ich sinnen.
13 O God, Thy way is in holiness; who is a great god like unto God?
Gott! dein Weg ist im Heiligtum; wer ist ein großer Gott [El] wie Gott?
14 Thou art the God that doest wonders; Thou hast made known Thy strength among the peoples.
Du bist der Gott, [El] der Wunder tut, du hast deine Stärke kundwerden lassen unter den Völkern.
15 Thou hast with Thine arm redeemed Thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. (Selah)
Du hast dein Volk erlöst mit erhobenem Arm, die Söhne Jakobs und Josephs. (Sela)
16 The waters saw Thee, O God; the waters saw Thee, they were in pain; the depths also trembled.
Dich sahen die Wasser, o Gott, dich sahen die Wasser: sie bebten; ja, es erzitterten die Tiefen.
17 The clouds flooded forth waters; the skies sent out a sound; Thine arrows also went abroad.
Die Wolken ergossen Wasser; das Gewölk [S. die Anm. zu Hiob 35,5] ließ eine Stimme erschallen, und deine Pfeile fuhren hin und her.
18 The voice of Thy thunder was in the whirlwind; the lightnings lighted up the world; the earth trembled and shook.
Die Stimme deines Donners war im Wirbelwind, Blitze erleuchteten den Erdkreis; es zitterte und bebte die Erde.
19 Thy way was in the sea, and Thy path in the great waters, and Thy footsteps were not known.
Im Meere ist [O. war] dein Weg, und deine Pfade in großen Wassern, und deine Fußstapfen sind [O. waren] nicht bekannt.
20 Thou didst lead Thy people like a flock, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
Du hast dein Volk geleitet wie eine Herde durch die Hand Moses und Aarons.
