Psalms 77
1 For the Leader; for Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I will lift up my voice unto God, and cry; I will lift up my voice unto God, that He may give ear unto me.
Pour le chef musicien. À Jeduthun. Un psaume d'Asaph. Mon cri va vers Dieu! En effet, je crie à l'aide de Dieu, et qu'il m'écoute.
2 In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; with my hand uplifted, mine eye streameth in the night without ceasing; my soul refuseth to be comforted.
Au jour de ma détresse, j'ai cherché l'Éternel. Ma main a été tendue dans la nuit, et ne s'est pas fatiguée. Mon âme a refusé d'être réconfortée.
3 When I think thereon, O God, I must moan; when I muse thereon, my spirit fainteth. (Selah)
Je me souviens de Dieu, et je gémis. Je me plains, et mon esprit est accablé. (Selah)
4 Thou holdest fast the lids of mine eyes; I am troubled, and cannot speak.
Tu tiens mes paupières ouvertes. Je suis tellement troublé que je ne peux pas parler.
5 I have pondered the days of old, the years of ancient times.
J'ai considéré les jours d'autrefois, les années des temps anciens.
6 In the night I will call to remembrance my song; I will commune with mine own heart; and my spirit maketh diligent search:
Je me souviens de ma chanson dans la nuit. Je considère dans mon propre cœur; mon esprit s'enquiert diligemment:
7 'Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will He be favourable no more?
« Le Seigneur nous rejettera-t-il à jamais? Ne sera-t-il plus favorable?
8 Is His mercy clean gone for ever? Is His promise come to an end for evermore?
Sa bonté s'est-elle évanouie pour toujours? Sa promesse échoue-t-elle pour des générations?
9 Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath He in anger shut up his compassions?' (Selah)
Dieu a-t-il oublié d'être gracieux? A-t-il, dans sa colère, retenu sa compassion? (Selah)
10 And I say: 'This is my weakness, that the right hand of the Most High could change.
Alors je me suis dit: « Je vais faire appel à cela: les années de la main droite du Très-Haut. »
11 I will make mention of the deeds of the LORD; yea, I will remember Thy wonders of old.
Je me souviendrai des œuvres de l'Éternel; car je me souviendrai de tes merveilles d'antan.
12 I will meditate also upon all Thy work, and muse on Thy doings.'
Je méditerai aussi sur toute ton œuvre, et considérez vos actions.
13 O God, Thy way is in holiness; who is a great god like unto God?
Ton chemin, Dieu, est dans le sanctuaire. Quel dieu est grand comme Dieu?
14 Thou art the God that doest wonders; Thou hast made known Thy strength among the peoples.
Tu es le Dieu qui fait des merveilles. Tu as fait connaître ta force parmi les peuples.
15 Thou hast with Thine arm redeemed Thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. (Selah)
Tu as racheté ton peuple par ton bras, les fils de Jacob et de Joseph. (Selah)
16 The waters saw Thee, O God; the waters saw Thee, they were in pain; the depths also trembled.
Les eaux t'ont vu, Dieu. Les eaux t'ont vu, et elles se sont tordues. Les profondeurs se sont également convulsées.
17 The clouds flooded forth waters; the skies sent out a sound; Thine arrows also went abroad.
Les nuages ont versé de l'eau. Les cieux ont résonné du tonnerre. Vos flèches ont aussi volé autour.
18 The voice of Thy thunder was in the whirlwind; the lightnings lighted up the world; the earth trembled and shook.
La voix de ton tonnerre était dans le tourbillon. Les éclairs ont illuminé le monde. La terre a tremblé et a été secouée.
19 Thy way was in the sea, and Thy path in the great waters, and Thy footsteps were not known.
Ton chemin était à travers la mer, vos chemins à travers les grandes eaux. Vos pas n'étaient pas connus.
20 Thou didst lead Thy people like a flock, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
Tu as conduit ton peuple comme un troupeau, par la main de Moïse et d'Aaron.
