Psalms 72
1 A Psalm of Solomon. Give the king Thy judgments, O God, and Thy righteousness unto the king's son;
Von Salomoh. Gott, gib dem König Deine Gerichte, und Deine Gerechtigkeit dem Sohn des Königs.
2 That he may judge Thy people with righteousness, and Thy poor with justice.
Er spricht Recht Deinem Volke in Gerechtigkeit, und Deinem Elenden mit Gericht.
3 Let the mountains bear peace to the people, and the hills, through righteousness.
Die Berge werden dem Volk Frieden tragen, und Gerechtigkeit die Hügel.
4 May he judge the poor of the people, and save the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor.
Er richtet die Elenden des Volkes, Er rettet die Söhne des Dürftigen und zerschlägt den, der niederdrückt.
5 They shall fear Thee while the sun endureth, and so long as the moon, throughout all generations.
Sie werden Dich fürchten bei der Sonne, und vor dem Mond, ein Geschlecht der Geschlechter.
6 May he come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.
Wie Regen kommt Er auf Wiesenschur herab, wie Regengüsse auf rissiges Land.
7 In his days let the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace, till the moon be no more.
Aufblühen wird in seinen Tagen der Gerechte, und viel Friede sein, bis daß kein Mond mehr ist.
8 May he have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the River unto the ends of the earth.
Und herrschen wird Er von Meer zu Meer, und von dem Fluß bis zu der Erde Enden.
9 Let them that dwell in the wilderness bow before him; and his enemies lick the dust.
Die Barbaren werden beugen sich vor Ihm, und Seine Feinde Staub auflecken;
10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall render tribute; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
Die Könige von Tarschisch und den Inseln werden Geschenke bringen, Schebas und Sebas Könige sich mit Ehrengaben nahen.
11 Yea, all kings shall prostrate themselves before him; all nations shall serve him.
Ihn werden alle Könige anbeten, alle Völkerschaften werden Ihm dienen.
12 For he will deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
Denn Er wird erretten den Dürftigen, der aufschreit, und den Elenden, der keinen Beistand hat.
13 He will have pity on the poor and needy, and the souls of the needy he will save.
Er wird des Armen und Dürftigen schonen, und der Dürftigen Seelen retten.
14 He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence, and precious will their blood be in his sight;
Von Hinterlist und von Gewalttat erlöst Er ihre Seele, und köstlich ist ihr Blut in Seinen Augen.
15 That they may live, and that he may give them of the gold of Sheba, that they may pray for him continually, yea, bless him all the day.
Und Er wird leben, und man wird Ihm von Schebas Gold geben, und beständig für Ihn beten, Ihn segnen jeden Tag!
16 May he be as a rich cornfield in the land upon the top of the mountains; may his fruit rustle like Lebanon; and may they blossom out of the city like grass of the earth.
Des Kornes Fülle wird im Lande sein, auf der Spitze der Berge erzittert Seine Frucht, wie der Libanon, und aufblühen werden sie aus der Stadt, wie das Kraut der Erde.
17 May his name endure for ever; may his name be continued as long as the sun; may men also bless themselves by him; may all nations call him happy.
Sein Name wird sein in Ewigkeit, vor der Sonne wird Er den Namen eines Sohnes haben, und segnen werden sich in Ihm alle Völkerschaften; sie werden Ihn seligpreisen.
18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things;
Gesegnet sei Jehovah Gott, Israels Gott, Der Wunder tut allein.
19 And blessed be His glorious name for ever; and let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen.
Und ewiglich sei der Name Seiner Herrlichkeit gesegnet, und alles Land soll voll werden Seiner Herrlichkeit. Amen und Amen.
20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
