Psalms 72
1 A Psalm of Solomon. Give the king Thy judgments, O God, and Thy righteousness unto the king's son;
Des Salomo. Gott, gib dein Gericht dem König und deine Gerechtigkeit des Königs Sohne,
2 That he may judge Thy people with righteousness, and Thy poor with justice.
daß er dein Volk richte mit Gerechtigkeit und deine Elenden rette.
3 Let the mountains bear peace to the people, and the hills, through righteousness.
Laß die Berge den Frieden bringen unter das Volk und die Hügel die Gerechtigkeit.
4 May he judge the poor of the people, and save the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor.
Er wird das elende Volk bei Recht erhalten und den Armen helfen und die Lästerer zermalmen.
5 They shall fear Thee while the sun endureth, and so long as the moon, throughout all generations.
Man wird dich fürchten, solange die Sonne und der Mond währt, von Kind zu Kindeskindern.
6 May he come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.
Er wird herabfahren wie der Regen auf die Aue, wie die Tropfen, die das Land feuchten.
7 In his days let the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace, till the moon be no more.
Zu seinen Zeiten wird erblühen der Gerechte und großer Friede, bis daß der Mond nimmer sei.
8 May he have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the River unto the ends of the earth.
Er wird herrschen von einem Meer bis ans andere und von dem Strom an bis zu der Welt Enden.
9 Let them that dwell in the wilderness bow before him; and his enemies lick the dust.
Vor ihm werden sich neigen die in der Wüste, und seine Feinde werden Staub lecken.
10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall render tribute; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
Die Könige zu Tharsis und auf den Inseln werden Geschenke bringen; die Könige aus Reicharabien und Seba werden Gaben zuführen.
11 Yea, all kings shall prostrate themselves before him; all nations shall serve him.
Alle Könige werden ihn anbeten; alle Heiden werden ihm dienen.
12 For he will deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
Denn er wird den Armen erretten, der da schreit, und den Elenden, der keinen Helfer hat.
13 He will have pity on the poor and needy, and the souls of the needy he will save.
Er wird gnädig sein den Geringen und Armen, und den Seelen der Armen wird er helfen.
14 He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence, and precious will their blood be in his sight;
Er wird ihre Seele aus dem Trug und Frevel erlösen, und ihr Blut wird teuer geachtet werden vor ihm.
15 That they may live, and that he may give them of the gold of Sheba, that they may pray for him continually, yea, bless him all the day.
Er wird leben, und man wird ihm von Gold aus Reicharabien geben. Und man wird immerdar für ihn beten; täglich wird man ihn segnen.
16 May he be as a rich cornfield in the land upon the top of the mountains; may his fruit rustle like Lebanon; and may they blossom out of the city like grass of the earth.
Auf Erden, oben auf den Bergen, wird das Getreide dick stehen; seine Frucht wird rauschen wie der Libanon, und sie werden grünen wie das Gras auf Erden.
17 May his name endure for ever; may his name be continued as long as the sun; may men also bless themselves by him; may all nations call him happy.
Sein Name wird ewiglich bleiben; solange die Sonne währt, wird sein Name auf die Nachkommen reichen, und sie werden durch denselben gesegnet sein; alle Heiden werden ihn preisen.
18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things;
Gelobet sei Gott der HERR, der Gott Israels, der allein Wunder tut;
19 And blessed be His glorious name for ever; and let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen.
und gelobet sei sein herrlicher Name ewiglich; und alle Lande müssen seiner Ehre voll werden! Amen, amen.
20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
Ein Ende haben die Gebete Davids, des Sohnes Isais.
