Psalms 70

1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David; to make memorial. O God, to deliver me, O LORD, to help me, make haste.

For the music director. A psalm of David. For a memorial. God, save me! Hurry, Lord, help me!

2 Let them be ashamed and abashed that seek after my soul; let them be turned backward and brought to confusion that delight in my hurt.

Please defeat and humiliate the people who are trying to kill me; turn back in disgrace those who want to hurt me.

3 Let them be turned back by reason of their shame that say: 'Aha, aha.'

May they be shocked at their defeat, those who taunted me.

4 Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee; and let such as love Thy salvation say continually: 'Let God be magnified.'

But may everyone who comes to you be happy and glad; may those who love your salvation always say, “God is great!”

5 But I am poor and needy; O God, make haste unto me; Thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, tarry not.

As for me, I am poor and needy. Hurry, God, help me! Save me! Lord, don't wait!
