Psalms 70

1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David; to make memorial. O God, to deliver me, O LORD, to help me, make haste.

Een psalm van David, voor den opperzangmeester, om te doen gedenken. Haast U, o God, om mij te verlossen, o HEERE, tot mijn hulp.

2 Let them be ashamed and abashed that seek after my soul; let them be turned backward and brought to confusion that delight in my hurt.

Laat hen beschaamd en schaamrood worden, die mijn ziel zoeken; laat hen achterwaarts gedreven en te schande worden, die lust hebben aan mijn kwaad.

3 Let them be turned back by reason of their shame that say: 'Aha, aha.'

Laat hen terugkeren tot loon hunner beschaming, die daar zeggen: Ha, ha!

4 Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee; and let such as love Thy salvation say continually: 'Let God be magnified.'

Laat in U vrolijk en verblijd zijn allen, die U zoeken; laat de liefhebbers Uws heils geduriglijk zeggen: God zij groot gemaakt!

5 But I am poor and needy; O God, make haste unto me; Thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, tarry not.

Doch ik ben ellendig en nooddruftig; o God, haast U tot mij; Gij zijt mijn Hulp en mijn Bevrijder; HEERE, vertoef niet!
