Psalms 62

1 For the Leader; for Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. Only for God doth my soul wait in stillness; from Him cometh my salvation.

Načelniku godbe v Jedutunu, psalm Davidov. Samo v Bogu počiva duša moja, od njega je moja blaginja.

2 He only is my rock and my salvation, my high tower, I shall not be greatly moved.

Samo on je skala moja in blaginja moja; grad moj, ne omahnem mnogo.

3 How long will ye set upon a man, that ye may slay him, all of you, as a leaning wall, a tottering fence?

Doklej bodete snovali težave nad moža? pobiti bodete vsi, podobni nagnenemu zidu, ograji omajani.

4 They only devise to thrust him down from his height, delighting in lies; they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. (Selah)

Samo z visokosti njegove pahniti ga ukrepljejo, veselé se laži; z usti svojimi blagoslavljajo, znotraj v sebi pa preklinjajo hudo.

5 Only for God wait thou in stillness, my soul; for from Him cometh my hope.

Samo v Bogu počivaj, duša moja, ker od njega je upanje moje.

6 He only is my rock and my salvation, my high tower, I shall not be moved.

Samo on je skala moja in blaginja moja, grad moj; ne omahnem.

7 Upon God resteth my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

V Bogu je blaginja moja in slava moja; krepka skala moja, pribežališče moje je v Bogu.

8 Trust in Him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. (Selah)

Zaupajte mu vsak čas, o ljudstvo; pred njim izlijte srce svoje: Bog nam je v pribežališče.

9 Men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie; if they be laid in the balances, they are together lighter than vanity.

Sama ničevost so prostega človeka otroci, laž so odličnega moža otroci; na tehtnico vkup položeni, poskočili bi nad ničevost.

10 Trust not in oppression, and put not vain hope in robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart thereon.

Ne zaupajte zatiranju, in zaradi ropa ne bodite prevzetni; ako se množi bogastvo, ne navezujte nanj srca.

11 God hath spoken once, twice have I heard this: that strength belongeth unto God;

Enkrat je govoril Bog, dvakrat sem slišal isto, da je moč Božja,

12 Also unto Thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy; for Thou renderest to every man according to his work.

In da je milost tvoja, Gospod, da bodeš ti povrnil vsakemu po delu svojem.
