Psalms 61

1 For the Leader; with string-music. A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.

Dem Musikmeister über das Saitenspiel; von David. Höre, o Gott, mein lautes Rufen,

2 From the end of the earth will I call unto Thee, when my heart fainteth; lead me to a rock that is too high for me.

Vom Ende der Erde ruf’ ich zu dir, da mein Herz verschmachtet. Auf einen Felsen, der mir zu hoch ist, wollest du mich führen!

3 For Thou hast been a refuge for me, a tower of strength in the face of the enemy.

Denn du bist mir stets eine Zuflucht gewesen, ein starker Turm vor dem Feinde.

4 I will dwell in Thy Tent for ever; I will take refuge in the covert of Thy wings. (Selah)

Könnt’ ich doch allzeit weilen in deinem Zelt, im Schutze deiner Flügel mich bergen! (SELA)

5 For Thou, O God, hast heard my vows; Thou hast granted the heritage of those that fear Thy name.

Denn du, Gott, hörst auf meine Gelübde, hast Besitz (mir) gewährt, wie die ihn erhalten, die deinen Namen fürchten.

6 Mayest Thou add days unto the king's days! May his years be as many generations!

Füge neue Tage den Tagen des Königs hinzu, laß seine Jahre dauern für und für!

7 May he be enthroned before God for ever! Appoint mercy and truth, that they may preserve him.

Ewig möge er thronen vor Gottes Angesicht! Entbiete Gnade und Treue, daß sie ihn behüten!

8 So will I sing praise unto Thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

Dafür will ich ewig deinem Namen lobsingen, auf daß ich meine Gelübde bezahle Tag für Tag.
