Psalms 6

1 For the Leader; with string-music; on the Sheminith. A Psalm of David. O LORD, rebuke me not in Thine anger, neither chasten me in Thy wrath.

למנצח בנגינות על השמינית מזמור לדוד יהוה אל באפך תוכיחני ואל בחמתך תיסרני׃

2 Be gracious unto me, O LORD, for I languish away; heal me, O LORD, for my bones are affrighted.

חנני יהוה כי אמלל אני רפאני יהוה כי נבהלו עצמי׃

3 My soul also is sore affrighted; and Thou, O LORD, how long?

ונפשי נבהלה מאד ואת יהוה עד מתי׃

4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul; save me for Thy mercy's sake.

שובה יהוה חלצה נפשי הושיעני למען חסדך׃

5 For in death there is no remembrance of Thee; in the nether-world who will give Thee thanks? (Sheol h7585)

כי אין במות זכרך בשאול מי יודה לך׃ (Sheol h7585)

6 I am weary with my groaning; every night make I my bed to swim; I melt away my couch with my tears.

יגעתי באנחתי אשחה בכל לילה מטתי בדמעתי ערשי אמסה׃

7 Mine eye is dimmed because of vexation; it waxeth old because of all mine adversaries.

עששה מכעס עיני עתקה בכל צוררי׃

8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.

סורו ממני כל פעלי און כי שמע יהוה קול בכיי׃

9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD receiveth my prayer.

שמע יהוה תחנתי יהוה תפלתי יקח׃

10 All mine enemies shall be ashamed and sore affrighted; they shall turn back, they shall be ashamed suddenly.

יבשו ויבהלו מאד כל איבי ישבו יבשו רגע׃
