Psalms 56

1 For the Leader; upon Jonath-elem-rehokim. A Psalm of David; Michtam; when the Philistines took him in Gath. Be gracious unto me, O God, for man would swallow me up; all the day he fighting oppresseth me.

Ten piedad de mí, oh Dios, porque el hombre está intentando destruirme; todos los días hace crueles ataques en mi contra.

2 They that lie in wait for me would swallow me up all the day; for they are many that fight against me, O Most High,

Mis enemigos están siempre listos para darme fin; muchos son los que me atacan con altanería.

3 In the day that I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee.

En el tiempo de mi temor, confío en ti.

4 In God — I will praise His word — in God do I trust, I will not be afraid; what can flesh do unto me?

En Dios daré alabanza a su palabra; en Dios he puesto mi esperanza; No tendré miedo; qué puede hacerme el hombre?

5 All the day they trouble mine affairs; all their thoughts are against me for evil.

Todos los días me hieren con palabras; todos sus pensamientos están en mi contra para mal.

6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps; according as they have waited for my soul.

Se juntan, esperan en lugares secretos, toman nota de mis pasos, esperando el momento de matarme.

7 Because of iniquity cast them out; in anger bring down the peoples, O God.

Por su propia maldad no se librarán del castigo. En tu ira, oh Dios, que los pueblos sean humillados.

8 Thou has counted my wanderings; put Thou my tears into Thy bottle; are they not in Thy book?

Tu llevas en cuenta mis huidas; tú recoges cada una de mis lágrimas; ¿no están en tu registro?

9 Then shall mine enemies turn back in the day that I call; this I know, that God is for me.

Cuando envío mi clamor a ti, mis enemigos serán vueltos atrás; Estoy seguro de esto, porque Dios está conmigo.

10 In God — I will praise His word — in the LORD — I will praise His word —

En Dios daré alabanza a su palabra; en el Señor daré alabanza a su palabra.

11 In God do I trust, I will not be afraid; what can man do unto me?

En Dios he puesto mi esperanza, no tendré temor; que puede hacerme el hombre?

12 Thy vows are upon me, O God; I will render thank-offerings unto Thee.

Guardo el recuerdo de mi deuda contigo, oh Dios; Te daré las ofrendas de alabanza.

13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death; hast Thou not delivered my feet from stumbling? that I may walk before God in the light of the living.

Porque has librado mi alma del poder de la muerte; y que mis pies cayeran, para poder estar caminando delante de Dios en la luz de la vida.
