Psalms 54

1 For the Leader; with string-music. Maschil of David: when the Ziphites came and said to Saul: 'Doth not David hide himself with us?' O God, save me by Thy name, and right me by Thy might.

Керівнику хору. На струнних інструментах. Повчання Давидове, коли прийшли зіф’яни й сказали Саулові: «Хіба не у нас ховається Давид?» Боже, врятуй мене іменем Твоїм і могутністю Своєю вступися на суді за мене!

2 O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth.

Боже, почуй мою молитву, прислухайся до слів уст моїх.

3 For strangers are risen up against me, and violent men have sought after my soul; they have not set God before them. (Selah)

Бо чужинці повстали проти мене й жорстокі серцем шукають душі моєї – ті, хто Бога не уявляє перед собою. (Села)

4 Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is for me as the upholder of my soul.

Ось Бог мені допомагає; Володар Вишній серед тих, хто підтримує мою душу.

5 He will requite the evil unto them that lie in wait for me; destroy Thou them in Thy truth.

Він віддячить за зло моїм супротивникам, знищить їх заради вірності Своєї.

6 With a freewill-offering will I sacrifice unto Thee; I will give thanks unto Thy name, O LORD, for it is good.

Із доброї волі принесу я Тобі жертву, прославлю ім’я Твоє, Господи, бо добре воно.

7 For He hath delivered me out of all trouble; and mine eye hath gazed upon mine enemies.

Адже від усіх скорбот Ти врятував мене, і око моє [переможно] дивилося на моїх ворогів.
