Psalms 53

1 For the Leader; upon Mahalath. Maschil of David. The fool hath said in his heart: 'There is no God'; they have dealt corruptly, and have done abominable iniquity; there is none that doeth good.

聖歌隊の指揮者によってマハラテのしらべにあわせてうたわせたダビデのマスキールの歌 愚かな者は心のうちに「神はない」と言う。彼らは腐れはて、憎むべき不義をおこなった。善を行う者はない。

2 God looked forth from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any man of understanding, that did seek after God.

神は天から人の子を見おろして、賢い者、神を尋ね求める者があるかないかを見られた。

3 Every one of them is unclean, they are together become impure; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

彼らは皆そむき、みなひとしく堕落した。善を行う者はない、ひとりもない。

4 'Shall not the workers of iniquity know it, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and call not upon God?'

悪を行う者は悟りがないのか。彼らは物食うようにわが民を食らい、また神を呼ぶことをしない。

5 There are they in great fear, where no fear was; for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee; Thou hast put them to shame, because God hath rejected them.

彼らは恐るべきことのない時に大いに恐れた。神はよこしまな者の骨を散らされるからである。神が彼らを捨てられるので、彼らは恥をこうむるであろう。

6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God turneth the captivity of His people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.

どうか、シオンからイスラエルの救が出るように。神がその民の繁栄を回復される時、ヤコブは喜び、イスラエルは楽しむであろう。
