Psalms 52

1 For the Leader. Maschil of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him: 'David is come to the house of Ahimelech.' Why boastest thou thyself of evil, O mighty man? The mercy of God endureth continually.

Para o músico chefe. Uma contemplação de David, quando Doeg o Edomita veio e disse a Saul: “David veio à casa de Ahimelech”. Why você se vangloria de malvadez, homem poderoso? A bondade amorosa de Deus perdura continuamente.

2 Thy tongue deviseth destruction; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

Sua língua trama a destruição, como uma navalha afiada, trabalhando enganosamente.

3 Thou lovest evil more than good; falsehood rather than speaking righteousness. (Selah)

Você ama o mal mais do que o bem, mentir em vez de falar a verdade. (Selah)

4 Thou lovest all devouring words, the deceitful tongue.

Você adora todas as palavras devoradoras, sua língua enganosa.

5 God will likewise break thee for ever, He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, and root thee out of the land of the living. (Selah)

God também o destruirá para sempre. Ele o levará para cima, e o arrancará de sua tenda, e tirá-lo da terra dos vivos. (Selah)

6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

Os justos também o verão, e temerão, e rir dele, dizendo,

7 'Lo, this is the man that made not God his stronghold; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.'

“Veja, este é o homem que não fez de Deus sua força, mas confiou na abundância de suas riquezas, e se fortaleceu em sua perversidade”.

8 But as for me, I am like a leafy olive-tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

Mas, quanto a mim, sou como uma oliveira verde na casa de Deus. Confio na bondade amorosa de Deus para todo o sempre.

9 I will give Thee thanks for ever, because Thou hast done it; and I will wait for Thy name, for it is good, in the presence of Thy saints.

Eu lhe darei graças para sempre, porque você o fez. Espero em seu nome, pois é bom, na presença de seus santos.
