Psalms 51
1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David; When Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba. Be gracious unto me, O God, according to Thy mercy; according to the multitude of Thy compassions blot out my transgressions.
達味詩歌，交與樂官。 作於納堂先知前來指責他與巴特舍巴犯姦之後。 天主，求你按照你的仁慈憐憫我，依你豐厚的慈愛，消滅我的罪惡。
2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
求你把我的過犯洗盡，求你把我的罪惡除淨，
3 For I know my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me.
因為我認清了我的過犯，我的罪惡常在我的眼前。
4 Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in Thy sight; that Thou mayest be justified when Thou speakest, and be in the right when Thou judgest.
我得罪了你，惟獨得罪了你，因為我作了你視為惡的事；因此，在你的判決上顯出你公義，在你的斷案上，顯出你的正直。
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
是的，我自出世便染上了罪惡，我的母親在罪惡中懷孕了我。
6 Behold, Thou desirest truth in the inward parts; make me, therefore, to know wisdom in mine inmost heart.
你既然喜愛那出自內心的誠實，求在我心的深處教我認識智慧。
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
求你以牛膝草灑我，使我皎潔，求你洗滌我，使我比雪還要白。
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which Thou hast crushed may rejoice.
求你賜我聽見快慰和喜樂，使你粉碎的骨骸重新歡躍。
9 Hide Thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
求你掩面別看我的罪過，求你除掉我的一切罪惡。
10 Create me a clean heart, O God; and renew a stedfast spirit within me.
天主，求你給我再造一顆純潔的心，使我重獲堅固的精神。
11 Cast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy holy spirit from me.
求你不要從你面前把我拋棄，不要從我身上收回你的聖神。
12 Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation; and let a willing spirit uphold me.
求你使我重獲你救恩的喜樂，求你以慷慨的精神來扶持我。
13 Then will I teach transgressors Thy ways; and sinners shall return unto Thee.
我要教導你的道路給作惡者，罪人們都要回頭，向你奔赴。
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, Thou God of my salvation; so shall my tongue sing aloud of Thy righteousness.
天主，我的救主，求你免我血債，我的舌頭必要歌頌你的慈愛。
15 O Lord, open Thou my lips; and my mouth shall declare Thy praise.
我主，求你開啟我的口唇，我要親口宣揚你的光榮。
16 For Thou delightest not in sacrifice, else would I give it; Thou hast no pleasure in burnt-offering.
因為你既然不喜悅祭獻，我獻全燔祭，你也不喜歡。
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise.
天主，我的祭獻就是這痛悔的精神，天主，你不輕看痛悔和謙卑的赤心。
18 Do good in Thy favour unto Zion; build Thou the walls of Jerusalem.
上主，求你以慈愛恩待熙雍，求你重修耶路撒冷城。
19 Then wilt Thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, in burnt-offering and whole offering; then will they offer bullocks upon Thine altar.
那時你必悅納合法之祭，犧牲和全燔祭獻；那時，人必要把牛犢奉獻於你的祭壇。
