Psalms 48

1 A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, in the city of our God, His holy mountain,

Cántico. Salmo de los hijos de Coré. Grande es Yahvé en la ciudad de nuestro Dios, y digno de suma alabanza.

2 Fair in situation, the joy of the whole earth; even mount Zion, the uttermost parts of the north, the city of the great King.

Su monte sagrado es gloriosa cumbre, es el gozo de toda la tierra; el monte Sión, (su) extremo norte, es la ciudad del gran Rey.

3 God in her palaces hath made Himself known for a stronghold.

En sus fortalezas, Dios se ha mostrado baluarte seguro.

4 For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, they came onward together.

Pues, he aquí que los reyes se habían reunido, y acometieron a una;

5 They saw, straightway they were amazed; they were affrighted, they hasted away.

mas apenas le vieron, se han pasmado, y aterrados han huido por doquier.

6 Trembling took hold of them there, pangs, as of a woman in travail.

Los invadió allí un temblor, una angustia como de parto,

7 With the east wind Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish.

como el viento de Oriente cuando estrella las naves de Tarsis.

8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God — God establish it for ever. (Selah)

Como lo habíamos oído, así lo hemos visto ahora en la ciudad de Yahvé de los ejércitos, en la ciudad de nuestro Dios: Dios la hace estable para siempre.

9 We have thought on Thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of Thy temple.

Nos acordamos, oh Dios, de tu misericordia dentro de tu Templo.

10 As is Thy name, O God, so is Thy praise unto the ends of the earth; Thy right hand is full of righteousness.

Como tu Nombre, Dios, así también tu alabanza llega hasta los confines de la tierra. Tu diestra está llena de justicia.

11 Let mount Zion be glad, let the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of Thy judgments.

Alégrese el monte Sión; salten de júbilo las ciudades de Judá, a causa de tus juicios.

12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her; count the towers thereof.

Recorred a Sión, circulad en rededor, contad sus torres;

13 Mark ye well her ramparts, traverse her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

considerad sus baluartes, examinad sus fortalezas, para que podáis referir a la generación venidera: así es de grande Dios,

14 For such is God, our God, for ever and ever; He will guide us eternally.

nuestro Dios para siempre jamás. Él mismo nos gobernará.
