Psalms 41

1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David. Happy is he that considereth the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.

Kumqondisi wokuhlabela. Ihubo likaDavida. Ubusisiwe lowo onanza abahluphekayo; uThixo uyamkhulula ngezikhathi zokuhlupheka.

2 The LORD preserve him, and keep him alive, let him be called happy in the land; and deliver not Thou him unto the greed of his enemies.

UThixo uzamvikela alondoloze impilo yakhe; uzambusisa phakathi kwelizwe akasoze amnikele emandleni ezitha zakhe.

3 The LORD support him upon the bed of illness; mayest Thou turn all his lying down in his sickness.

UThixo uzamqinisa lanxa elele egula njalo amsilise avuke ekuguleni kwakhe.

4 As for me, I said: 'O LORD, be gracious unto me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against Thee.'

Ngathi, “Oh Thixo ake ungihawukele; ngisilisa, ngoba ngonile kuwe.”

5 Mine enemies speak evil of me: 'When shall he die, and his name perish?'

Izitha zami ziyangigcona zithi, “Uzakufa nini licitshe ibizo lakhe?”

6 And if one come to see me, he speaketh falsehood; his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he speaketh of it.

Nxa omunye wabo efika ezongibona, ukhuluma kuhle angikhohlise, kodwa enhliziyweni yakhe egaya izibozi; athi angaphuma ahambe esekhihliza ebantwini.

7 All that hate me whisper together against me, against me do they devise my hurt:

Bonke abangizondayo banyenyezelana ngami; bangicabangela wonke amanyala besithi,

8 'An evil thing cleaveth fast unto him; and now that he lieth, he shall rise up no more.'

“Usengenwe ngumkhuhlane omubi; kasoze asile avuke futhi.”

9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Lomngane wami osekhwapheni, ebengimthembile, lowo obesidla lami isinkwa usengihlamukele.

10 But Thou, O LORD, be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

Kodwa wena, Oh Thixo ake ungihawukele; ake ungivuse ukuze ngibakhawulise.

11 By this I know that Thou delightest in me, that mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

Ngiyazi ukuthi uyathokoza ngami, ngoba isitha sami kasingehluli.

12 And as for me, Thou upholdest me because of mine integrity, and settest me before Thy face for ever.

Ubuqotho bami busekelwa nguwe njalo ungimisa phambi kwakho nini lanini.

13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Udumo alube kuye uThixo, uNkulunkulu ka-Israyeli, kusukela nininini kuze kube nininini.
