< Psalms 4 >
1 For the Leader; with string-music. A Psalm of David. Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness, Thou who didst set me free when I was in distress; be gracious unto me, and hear my prayer.
Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Nekina, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ʻO kau ka kole, fanongo mai kiate au, ʻE ʻOtua ʻo ʻeku māʻoniʻoni: naʻa ke halahalaʻi au mei he mamahi; ke ke ʻaloʻofa mai kiate au, pea fanongo ki heʻeku lotu.
2 O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame, in that ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? (Selah)
ʻAe ngaahi foha ʻoe tangata, ʻe ngata ʻafē hoʻomou liliu hoku nāunau ko e meʻa fakamā? ʻe ngata ʻafē hoʻomou ʻofa ki he meʻa vaʻinga pe, ʻo kumi ki he loi? (Sila)
3 But know that the LORD hath set apart the godly man as His own; the LORD will hear when I call unto Him.
Ka mou ʻilo kuo vaheʻi ʻe Sihova maʻana ʻaia ʻoku angalelei: ʻe fanongo ʻe Sihova ʻo kau ka kole kiate ia.
4 Tremble, and sin not; commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. (Selah)
Mou manavahē, pea ʻoua naʻa fai angahala: fakakaukau mo homou loto ʻi homou mohenga, pea mou fakalongo pe. (Sila)
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
Feilaulau ʻaki ʻae ngaahi feilaulau māʻoniʻoni, pea mou falala kia Sihova.
6 Many there are that say: 'Oh that we could see some good!' LORD, lift Thou up the light of Thy countenance upon us.
ʻOku pehē ʻe he tokolahi, “Ko hai te ne fakahā ha lelei kiate kitautolu?” ʻE Sihova, ke ke hiki hake kiate kimautolu ʻae maama ʻo ho fofonga.
7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than when their corn and their wine increase.
Kuo ke ʻai ki hoku loto ʻae fiefia lahi hake ʻi he fiefia ʻi he kuonga naʻe tupu ʻo lahi ai ʻenau uite mo e uaine.
8 In peace will I both lay me down and sleep; for Thou, LORD, makest me dwell alone in safety.
Te u tokoto hifo ʻi he fiemālie, ʻo mohe: he ko koe pē, ʻE Sihova, ʻoku ke pule ke u nofo lelei.
