< Psalms 4 >
1 For the Leader; with string-music. A Psalm of David. Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness, Thou who didst set me free when I was in distress; be gracious unto me, and hear my prayer.
I KA'U uolo ana'ku e lohe mai ia'u, e ke Akua o'u e pono ai: Ua hoakea mai oe ia'u i ko'u popilikia; E aloha mai oe ia'u, e hoolohe mai hoi i ka'u pule.
2 O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame, in that ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? (Selah)
E na keiki a kanaka, pehea la ka loihi O ko oukou hoolilo ana i ko'u nani i me a hilahila? No ke aha la e aloha ai oukou i ka lapuwale, A imi hoi i wahahee? (Sila)
3 But know that the LORD hath set apart the godly man as His own; the LORD will hear when I call unto Him.
E ike hoi oukou na hoana e o Iehova i ka mea haipulo nona; E lohe mai no o Iehova i ko'u kahea ana'ku ia ia.
4 Tremble, and sin not; commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. (Selah)
E haalulu oukou, mai hana hewa; E kukakuka me ko oukou naau iho, Ma ko oukou wahi moe e noho malie ai. (Sila)
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
E kaumaha aku oukou i ka mohai pono, E lelepau ko oukou manao ia Iehova.
6 Many there are that say: 'Oh that we could see some good!' LORD, lift Thou up the light of Thy countenance upon us.
He nui no ka poe i olelo mai, Owai ka mea o hoike mai i ka pono ia kakou? E Iehova, e hoomalamalama mai kou maka ia makou.
7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than when their corn and their wine increase.
Ua hookomo mai oe i ka olioli iloko o ko'u naau, A oi aku ko'u i ko lakou i ka mahuahua ana'e o ka palaoa a me ka waina.
8 In peace will I both lay me down and sleep; for Thou, LORD, makest me dwell alone in safety.
E moe au ilalo me ka maluhia, a hiamoe: No ka mea, o oe wale no, e Iehova, ka i hoomalu mai i ko'u noho ana.
