< Psalms 39 >

1 For the Leader, for Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. I said: 'I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue; I will keep a curb upon my mouth, while the wicked is before me.'
David ƒe ha na hɛnɔ Yedutun. Megblɔ be, “Malé ŋku ɖe nye mɔwo ŋu, akpɔ nye aɖe dzi be mawɔ nu vɔ̃ o, eye zi ale si ame vɔ̃ɖi la gale ŋkunye me la, made ga nye nu.”
2 I was dumb with silence; I held my peace, had no comfort; and my pain was held in check.
Gake esi mezi ɖoɖoe li kpoo, eye nyemele nya nyui aɖeke gblɔm o hã la, nye vevesese do ga ɖe edzi.
3 My heart waxed hot within me; while I was musing, the fire kindled; then spoke I with my tongue:
Nye dzi xɔ dzo ɖe dɔ me nam; esi mele ŋugble dem la, exɔ dzo ɖe edzi; tete meƒo nu kple nye aɖe.
4 'LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; let me know how short-lived I am.
“O! Yehowa, fia nye agbe ƒe nuwuwu kple ŋkeke ale si manɔ agbee lam; eye na manya ale si nye agbe le du dzii.
5 Behold, Thou hast made my days as hand-breadths; and mine age is as nothing before Thee; surely every man at his best estate is altogether vanity. (Selah)
Èwɔ nye ŋkekewo wole abe asi ƒe kekeme ko ene, eye nye agbenɔɣi menye naneke le ŋkuwò me o. Amegbetɔ ɖe sia ɖe ƒe agbe le abe ƒuƒu ko ene. (Sela)
6 Surely man walketh as a mere semblance; surely for vanity they are in turmoil; he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.
“Amegbetɔ le yiyim, le gbɔgbɔm, ke vɔvɔli ko wònye. Ele agbagba dzem, gake wo katã nye nu dzodzro Eli kɔ kesinɔnuwo gleglegle, gake menya ame si ƒe asi me woayi ɖo o.
7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope, it is in Thee.
“Aƒetɔ, ke azɔ la, nu ka makpɔ mɔ na? Nye mɔkpɔkpɔ le mewò.
8 Deliver me from all my transgressions; make me not the reproach of the base.
Ɖem tso nye vodadawo katã me, eye mègawɔm mazu alɔmeɖenu na yakamewo o.
9 I am dumb, I open not my mouth; because Thou hast done it.
Mezi ɖoɖoe, nyemake nu o, elabena wòe wɔ esia.
10 Remove Thy stroke from off me; I am consumed by the blow of Thy hand.
Ɖe wò tohehe si le dzinye la ɖa; wò asi va dzinye kple ŋusẽ ale metsi anyigba.
11 With rebukes dost Thou chasten man for iniquity, and like a moth Thou makest his beauty to consume away; surely every man is vanity. (Selah)
(Sela)
12 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; keep not silence at my tears; for I am a stranger with Thee, a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
“O! Yehowa, se nye gbedodoɖa, nye ɣlidodo hena kpekpeɖeŋu nede to me na wò; mègado toku nye avifafa o. Amedzro kple mɔzɔla menye le gbɔwò abe ale si fofonyewo katã nɔ ene.
13 Look away from me, that I may take comfort, before I go hence, and be no more.'
Ɖe ŋku ɖa le ŋunye, ale be magakpɔ dzidzɔ hafi mayi, eye nyemaganɔ anyi o.”
