Psalms 33
1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous, praise is comely for the upright.
Cantad, oh justos, a Yahvé, la alabanza es propia de los rectos.
2 Give thanks unto the LORD with harp, sing praises unto Him with the psaltery of ten strings.
Celebrad al Señor con la cítara; con el arpa de diez cuerdas cantadle himnos.
3 Sing unto Him a new song; play skilfully amid shouts of joy.
Entonadle un cántico nuevo; tañed bien sonoramente.
4 For the word of the LORD is upright; and all His work is done in faithfulness.
Porque la Palabra de Yahvé es recta, y toda su conducta es fiel.
5 He loveth righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the lovingkindness of the LORD.
Él ama la misericordia y la justicia, la tierra está llena de la bondad de Yahvé.
6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
Por la Palabra de Yahvé fueron hechos los cielos, y todo su ornato por el soplo de su boca.
7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap; He layeth up the deeps in storehouses.
Él junta como en un odre las aguas del mar, encierra en depósitos los abismos.
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
Tema a Yahvé toda la tierra; reveréncienle todos los pobladores del orbe.
9 For He spoke, and it was; He commanded, and it stood.
Porque Él habló y quedaron hechos; mandó, y tuvieron ser.
10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the nations to nought; He maketh the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect.
Yahvé desbarata los planes de las naciones, deshace los designios de los pueblos.
11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations.
Mas los planes del Señor permanecen eternamente; los designios de su corazón, de generación en generación.
12 Happy is the nation whose God is the LORD; the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance.
¡Dichoso el pueblo que tiene por Dios a Yahvé, dichoso el pueblo que Él escogió para herencia suya!
13 The LORD looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men;
Yahvé mira desde lo alto de los cielos, ve a todos los hijos de los hombres.
14 From the place of His habitation He looketh intently upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
Desde el lugar de su morada fija sus ojos, sobre todos los que habitan la tierra.
15 He that fashioneth the hearts of them all, that considereth all their doings.
Él, que formó el corazón de cada uno, presta atención a todas sus acciones.
16 A king is not saved by the multitude of a host; a mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
No vence el rey por un gran ejército; el guerrero no se salva por su mucha fuerza.
17 A horse is a vain thing for safety; neither doth it afford escape by its great strength.
Engañoso es el caballo para la victoria, todo su vigor no salvará al jinete.
18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is toward them that fear Him, toward them that wait for His mercy;
Mas los ojos de Yahvé velan por los que le temen, por los que esperan de su misericordia,
19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
que ha de librar sus almas de la muerte, y alimentarlos en el tiempo de hambre.
20 Our soul hath waited for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.
Nuestra alma cuenta con Yahvé; Él es nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo.
21 For in Him doth our heart rejoice, because we have trusted in His holy name.
En Él se regocija nuestro corazón, y en su santo Nombre confiamos.
22 Let Thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we have waited for Thee.
Sea, Yahvé, sobre nosotros tu misericordia, según lo esperamos de Ti.
