Psalms 32
1 A Psalm of David. Maschil. Happy is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is pardoned.
Par David. Un psaume contemplatif. Heureux celui dont la désobéissance est pardonnée, dont le péché est couvert.
2 Happy is the man unto whom the LORD counteth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
Heureux l'homme à qui Yahvé n'impute pas d'iniquité, dans l'esprit duquel il n'y a pas de tromperie.
3 When I kept silence, my bones wore away through my groaning all the day long.
Quand je me taisais, mes os dépérissaient à force de gémir tout le jour.
4 For day and night Thy hand was heavy upon me; my sap was turned as in the droughts of summer. (Selah)
Car jour et nuit, ta main s'est appesantie sur moi. Ma force a été sapée dans la chaleur de l'été. (Selah)
5 I acknowledged my sin unto Thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid; I said: 'I will make confession concerning my transgressions unto the LORD' — and Thou, Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. (Selah)
J'ai reconnu mon péché devant toi. Je n'ai pas caché mon iniquité. J'ai dit: je confesserai mes transgressions à Yahvé, et tu as pardonné l'iniquité de mon péché. (Selah)
6 For this let every one that is godly pray unto Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found; surely, when the great waters overflow, they will not reach unto him.
C'est pourquoi, que tous ceux qui sont pieux te prient au moment où tu pourras être trouvé. Quand les grandes eaux déborderont, elles n'arriveront pas jusqu'à lui.
7 Thou art my hiding-place; Thou wilt preserve me from the adversary; with songs of deliverance Thou wilt compass me about. (Selah)
Tu es ma cachette. Vous me préserverez des problèmes. Tu m'entoureras de chants de délivrance. (Selah)
8 'I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will give counsel, Mine eye being upon thee.'
Je t'instruirai et t'enseignerai le chemin que tu dois suivre. Je vous conseillerai en gardant un œil sur vous.
9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding; whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, that they come not near unto thee.
Ne soyez pas comme le cheval ou comme la mule, qui n'ont pas d'intelligence, qui sont contrôlés par le mors et la bride, sinon ils ne s'approcheront pas de vous.
10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked; but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy compasseth him about.
Beaucoup de peines arrivent aux méchants, mais la bonté entourera celui qui se confie en Yahvé.
11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous; and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
Réjouissez-vous en Yahvé, et réjouissez-vous, vous les justes! Poussez des cris de joie, vous tous qui avez le cœur droit!
