Psalms 25
1 A Psalm of David. Unto Thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
De David. À toi, Éternel, j’élève mon âme.
2 O my God, in Thee have I trusted, let me not be ashamed; let not mine enemies triumph over me.
Mon Dieu, en toi j’ai mis ma confiance; que je ne sois pas confus, que mes ennemis ne triomphent pas de moi.
3 Yea, none that wait for Thee shall be ashamed; they shall be ashamed that deal treacherously without cause.
Non, aucun de ceux qui s’attendent à toi ne sera confus; ceux-là seront confus qui agissent perfidement sans cause.
4 Show me Thy ways, O LORD; teach me Thy paths.
Fais-moi connaître tes voies, ô Éternel! enseigne-moi tes sentiers.
5 Guide me in Thy truth, and teach me; for Thou art the God of my salvation; for Thee do I wait all the day.
Fais-moi marcher dans ta vérité, et enseigne-moi, car tu es le Dieu de mon salut; c’est à toi que je m’attends tout le jour.
6 Remember, O LORD, Thy compassions and Thy mercies; for they have been from of old.
Souviens-toi de ta miséricorde, ô Éternel, et de ta bonté; car elles sont de tout temps.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; according to Thy mercy remember Thou me, for Thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
Ne te souviens pas des péchés de ma jeunesse ni de mes transgressions; selon ta gratuité souviens-toi de moi à cause de ta bonté, ô Éternel.
8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore doth He instruct sinners in the way.
L’Éternel est bon et droit; c’est pourquoi il enseignera le chemin aux pécheurs.
9 He guideth The humble in justice; and He teacheth the humble His way.
Il fera marcher dans le droit [chemin] les débonnaires, et il enseignera sa voie aux débonnaires.
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.
Tous les sentiers de l’Éternel sont gratuité et vérité, pour ceux qui gardent son alliance et ses témoignages.
11 For Thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity, for it is great.
À cause de ton nom, ô Éternel! tu me pardonneras mon iniquité; car elle est grande.
12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him will He instruct in the way that He should choose.
Qui est l’homme qui craint l’Éternel? Il lui enseignera le chemin qu’il doit choisir.
13 His soul shall abide in prosperity; and his seed shall inherit the land.
Son âme habitera au milieu du bien, et sa semence possédera la terre.
14 The counsel of the LORD is with them that fear Him; and His covenant, to make them know it.
Le secret de l’Éternel est pour ceux qui le craignent, pour leur faire connaître son alliance.
15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for He will bring forth my feet out of the net.
Mes yeux sont continuellement sur l’Éternel; car c’est lui qui fera sortir mes pieds du filet.
16 Turn Thee unto me, and be gracious unto me; for I am solitary and afflicted.
Tourne-toi vers moi et use de grâce envers moi, car je suis seul et affligé.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged; O bring Thou me out of my distresses.
Les détresses de mon cœur se sont agrandies; fais-moi sortir de mes angoisses.
18 See mine affliction and my travail; and forgive all my sins.
Regarde mon affliction et mes peines, et pardonne tous mes péchés.
19 Consider how many are mine enemies, and the cruel hatred wherewith they hate me.
Regarde mes ennemis, car ils sont nombreux, et ils me haïssent d’une haine violente.
20 O keep my soul, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed, for I have taken refuge in Thee.
Garde mon âme, et délivre-moi; que je ne sois pas confus, car je me suis confié en toi.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, because I wait for Thee.
Que l’intégrité et la droiture me gardent, car je me suis attendu à toi.
22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
Ô Dieu! rachète Israël de toutes ses détresses.
