Psalms 24

1 A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Le premier de la semaine, psaume de David.

2 For He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

Parce que c’est lui-même qui l’a fondé au-dessus des mers, et qui l’a disposé au-dessus des fleuves.

3 Who shall ascend into the mountain of the LORD? and who shall stand in His holy place?

Qui montera sur la montagne du Seigneur? Ou qui se tiendra dans son lieu saint?

4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not taken My name in vain, and hath not sworn deceitfully.

Celui dont les mains sont innocentes et le cœur pur; qui n’a pas reçu en vain son âme, qui n’a pas fait de serment trompeur à son prochain.

5 He shall receive a blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Celui-là recevra la bénédiction du Seigneur, et la miséricorde de Dieu, son salut.

6 Such is the generation of them that seek after Him, that seek Thy face, even Jacob. (Selah)

Telle est la génération de ceux qui le cherchent, de ceux qui cherchent la face du Dieu de Jacob.

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; that the King of glory may come in.

Élevez vos portes, ô princes; et vous, élevez-vous, portes éternelles, et le roi de gloire entrera.

8 'Who is the King of glory?' 'The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.'

Quel est ce roi de gloire? Le Seigneur des armées est lui-même ce roi de gloire.

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates, yea, lift them up, ye everlasting doors; that the King of glory may come in.

Élevez vos portes, ô princes; et vous, élevez-vous, portes éternelles, et le roi de gloire entrera.

10 'Who then is the King of glory?' 'The LORD of hosts; He is the King of glory.' (Selah)

Quel est ce roi de gloire? Le Seigneur des armées; c’est lui qui est le roi de gloire.
