Psalms 2
1 Why are the nations in an uproar? And why do the peoples mutter in vain?
Was toben denn die Heiden und schmieden eitle Pläne Nationen?
2 The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed:
Der Erde Könige verbünden sich, und Fürsten pflegen Rat, dem Herrn und dem, den er gesalbt, zum Trotz:
3 'Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.'
"Auf! Laßt uns ihre Fesseln sprengen, ihr Joch abschütteln!"
4 He that sitteth in heaven laugheth, the Lord hath them in derision.
Der in dem Himmel thront, lacht ihrer; der Herr verspottet sie.
5 Then will He speak unto them in His wrath, and affright them in His sore displeasure:
Doch schließlich redet er in seinem Zorn mit ihnen; mit seinem Grimme schreckt er sie.
6 'Truly it is I that have established My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.'
"Ich selber habe meinen König eingesetzt zu Sion über meinen heiligen Berg." -
7 I will tell of the decree: the LORD said unto me: 'Thou art My son, this day have I begotten thee.
Des Herrn Entschließung will ich künden; er sprach zu mir: "Du bist mein Sohn; ich habe heute dich gezeugt.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give the nations for thine inheritance, and the ends of the earth for thy possession.
So fordere von mir! Ich gebe Heidenvölker zum Besitze dir, der Erde Grenzen dir zum Eigentum.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.'
Zerschelle sie mit einem Eisenstocke, zerschmettere sie gleich irdenem Gefäß."
10 Now therefore, O ye kings, be wise; be admonished, ye judges of the earth.
Nun, Könige! Bedenkt es wohl! Erdenrichter, laßt euch warnen!
11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
In Ehrfurcht dient dem Herrn, und werft euch zitternd nieder!
12 Do homage in purity, lest He be angry, and ye perish in the way, when suddenly His wrath is kindled. Happy are all they that take refuge in Him.
Und huldigt ohne Falsch, daß er nicht zürne und ihr auf irrem Weg verderbet! Ein kleines nur, und schon entbrannt sein Zorn. Heil allen, die bei ihm sich bergen!
